लोलार्कमुख्य सूर्यांश्च प्रणम्य च पुनः पुनः
He repeatedly bowed to the Sun deities, with Lolārka as chief among them.
सहस्रभोजनाद्यैश्च यतीन्विप्रान्प्रतर्प्य च
He satisfied ascetics and Brahmins with offerings such as a thousand meals.
असकृच्चिन्तयामास किं लिंगं क्षिप्रसिद्धिदम्
He thought again and again: Which liṅga grants swift accomplishment?
श्रीमदोंकारनाथं वा कृत्तिवासेश्वरं किमु
Is it the glorious Oṃkāra Lord, or Kṛttivāsa Īśvara?
केदारेशं तु कामेशं चन्द्रेशं वा त्रिलोचनम्
Or Kedāreśa, Kāmeśa, Candreśa, or the Three-Eyed One?
दशाश्वमेधमीशानं द्रुमि चंडेशमेव च
Or Īśāna of the ten horse sacrifices, or Drumi Caṇḍeśa?
ढुंढ्याशागजसिद्धाख्यं धर्मेशं तारकेश्वरम्
Ḍhuṃḍhyāśā, Gajasiddha, Dharmesha, or Tārakeśvara?
पर्वतेशं पशुपतिं ब्रह्मेशं मध्यमेश्वरम् 4.1.10.
Parvateśa, Paśupati, Brahmeśa, or Madhyameśvara?
भारभूतेश्वरं किं वा महालक्ष्मीश्वरं तु वा
Bhārabhūteśvara, or perhaps Mahālakṣmīśvara?

व्याघ्रेश्वरं वराहेशं व्यासेशं वृषभध्वजम्
Vyāghreśvara, Varāheśa, Vyāseśa, or the one with the bull banner?
सोमेश्वरं किमिन्द्रेशं स्वर्लीनं संगमेश्वरम्
Someśvara, or perhaps Indreśa, Svarlīna, or Saṃgameśvara?
त्रिसंध्येशं महादेवमुपशांति शिवं तथा
Trisaṃdhyeśa, Mahādeva, Upaśāṃti, or Śiva as well?
मित्रावरुणसंज्ञं वा किमेषामाशुपुत्रदम्
Or Mitrāvaruṇa by name—which among these quickly grants sons?
आज्ञातं विस्मृतं तावत्फलितो मे मनोरथः
Known or forgotten, my wish has been fulfilled.
दर्शनात्स्पर्शनाद्यस्य मनो निर्वृतिभाग्भवेत्
By seeing or touching him, one's mind attains satisfaction.
दिवानिशं पूजनार्थं विज्ञाप्य त्रिदशेश्वरम् 4.1.10.
Day and night, for the purpose of worship, one should petition the lord of the gods.
षण्मासात्सिद्धिमगमद्बहुनीराजनैरिह 4.1.10.
Within six months, he attained success here through many offerings of lights.
पंचगव्याशनो मासं मासं चांद्रायणव्रती 4.1.10.
He who eats the five products of the cow for a month, and observes the Chandrayana vow for a month—
शब्दं गृह्णास्यश्रवास्त्वं हि जिघ्रेरघ्राणस्त्वं व्यंघ्रिरायासि दूरात् 4.1.10.
You grasp sound as the ear, you smell as the nose, you come from afar as the swift-footed.
अभिलाषाष्टकं पुण्यं स्तोत्रमेतत्त्वयेरितम् 4.1.10.
This eightfold hymn of auspicious desires has been uttered by you.
अब्दं जप्तमिदं स्तोत्रं पुत्रदं नात्र संशयः
If this hymn is recited for a year, it bestows sons—of this there is no doubt.
अगस्तिरुवाच शृणु सुश्रोणि सुभगे वैश्वानरसमुद्भवम्
Agastya said: Listen, O fair-hipped, fortunate one, to the account of the origin of Vaiśvānara.
अथ कालेन तद्योषिदंतर्वत्नी बभूव ह
Then, in due course, that woman became pregnant.
ततः पुंसवनं तेन स्पंदनात्प्राग्विपश्चिता
Afterwards, the rite for a male child was performed by the wise, as prescribed.
सीमन्तोथाष्टमे मासि गर्भरूपसमृद्धिकृत्
Then, in the eighth month, the Simanta ceremony was performed, which brings about the full development of the fetus.
अथातः सत्सुतारासु ताराधिप वराननः
Then, among those noble women, the moon-faced lord of stars—
अरिष्टं दीपयन्दीप्त्या सर्वारिष्टविनाशकृत्
By his radiance dispelled misfortune, destroying all calamities.
सद्यः समस्तसुखदो भूर्भुवःस्वर्निवासिनाम्
He immediately bestowed all happiness upon the dwellers of earth, atmosphere, and heaven.
