भूमिष्ठापि न यात्रभूस्त्रिदिवतोप्युच्चैरधःस्थापि या या बद्धा भुवि मुक्तिदास्युरमृतं यस्यां मृता जंतवः
Even if situated on earth, not a place of pilgrimage, or even if bound high in heaven or low below, on earth it grants liberation; in which, those who die attain immortality.
नमस्तस्मै महेशाय यस्य संध्यात्त्रयच्छलात्
Salutation to that great Lord, by whose illusion the three twilights exist.

With coconut trees, resembling the form of coconuts, and with coconuts indeed.
वनश्रियः कुचाकारैर्लकुचैश्च मनोहरम् 4.1.1.
The forest’s beauty was enchanting with lakuca trees shaped like breasts.
सुरंगैश्चापि नारंगैरंगमंडपवच्छियः
With sweet oranges and citrons, the grove looked like a pavilion of pleasure.
अनिलालोल कंकोल वल्लीहल्ली सकायितम्
With the wind-tossed kaṃkola creepers, entwined with their vines.
मंदांदोलितकर्पूर कदलीदल संज्ञया
With gently swaying camphor trees, known by their plantain-like leaves.
पुन्नागमिव पुन्नागपल्लवैःकरपल्लवैः
Like the punnāga tree adorned with its tender shoots and with the shoots of its branches.
विदीर्णदाडिमैः स्वांतं दर्शयंतं तु रागवत्
With bursting pomegranates, displaying their own inner redness.
उदुंबरैरंबरगैरनंतफलमालितैः
With udumbara and jambū trees, adorned with endless fruits.
पनसैर्वनासाभैः शुकनासैः पलाशकैः
With jackfruit, vanāsā, śukanāsa, and palāśa trees.
कदंबवादिनो नीपान्दृष्ट्वा कंटकितैरिव
Seeing kadamba and nīpa trees, as if covered with thorns.
नमेरुभिश्च मेरूच्चशिखरैरिव राजितम्
And with nameru trees, shining like the lofty peaks of Mount Meru.
तटेतटेपटुवटैरुच्चैःपटकुटी वृतम् 4.1.1.
On every bank, tall banyan trees formed lofty leafy huts.
करमर्दैः करीरैश्च करजैश्चकरंबकैः
With karamara, karīra, and karambaka trees, bearing their respective fruits.
नीराजितमिवोद्दीपैराजचंपककोरकैः
Adorned as if with lamps of golden campaka flowers,
क्वचिच्चलदलैरुच्चैः क्वचित्कांचनकेतकैः
In some places with tall, trembling leaves, in others with golden ketaka blossoms,
कर्कंधु बंधुजीवैश्च पुत्रजीवैर्विराजितम् २४ !। गलन्मधू ककुसुमैर्धरारूपधरंहरम्
Resplendent with karkaṃdhu, baṃdhujīva, and putrajīva trees, with honey-dripping flowers falling to the ground, taking the form of the earth itself.
सर्जार्जुनांजनैर्बीजैर्व्यजनैर्वीज्यमानवत्
Fanned as if with the seeds and leaves of sal, arjuna, and anjana trees,
अमंदैः पिचुमंदैश्च मंदारैः कोविदारकैः
With gentle picumaṃda, maṃdāra, and kovidāra trees,
उद्दंडैश्चापि शेहुंडैरेरंडैर्गुडपुष्पकैः
And also with tall śehuṃḍa, eraṃḍa, and guḍapuṣpa trees,
अक्षैः प्लक्षैः शल्लकीभिर्देवदारुहरिद्रुमैः
With akṣa, plakṣa, śallakī, devadāru, and haridru trees,
एलालवंग मरिचकुलुं जनवनावृतम् 4.1.1.
Surrounded by groves of cardamom, clove, black pepper, and kulunja,
शाकशंखवनैरम्यं चदनैरक्तचंदनैः
Beautiful with śāka and śaṃkha groves, and with red sandalwood trees,
द्राक्षावल्लीनागवल्लीकणावल्लीशतावृतम्
Covered with hundreds of grapevines, nāgavallī, and betel vines,
