Hari filled the skull of the mendicant with his own blood.
If you had not taught compassion, all weapons and missiles would have been used.
If you had not assumed the forms of Narasimha and Sharabha, the great sages would not have survived.
You became the boatman in the ocean of the cosmic cycle, as the Fish and the Tortoise.
With one of your own thousand lotus eyes, you performed worship.

For one who remembers me as the guru, whether awake or during creation and dissolution,
In this very place, whatever favor I have granted to you both,
For those who dwell in this region within three yojanas,
Or even for animals and embodied beings among the immobile here,
For humans, either by seeing or by remembering from afar, liberation is attained.
For auspiciousness, my radiant form remains here eternally as an immovable image.
Even at the end of the ages, the great oceans will never submerge it.

From a distance, by prostration, or by circumambulation from near,
Here alone, the residence of great souls is assured.
Without disregarding Shonachala, even by dwelling elsewhere, one attains liberation.

Those two, their egotism removed, submitted to the Lord.
Let that mountain remain, but truly, its radiance is exceedingly hard to endure.
O Rudra, this is not an ordinary mountain; its brilliance is like that of a divine peak.
It reveals its own light for the prosperity of this entire world.
Even so, O god, by your command, the Śoṇa mountain brings happiness to people.
From today, at our request, in this very valley of the mountain—
Let us worship the beautiful Lord of the Aruṇa mountain here.
Here are found kesara trees, mangoes, nāga, puṃnāga, and kesara blossoms.
O Lord of gods, ocean of compassion, you should be present right here.
Otherwise, our minds will not be purified, even if the god is pleased in this way.
On the eastern side of the Śoṇa mountain, there stands this very lofty peak.
