He always said to me, 'My son, be devoted to your ancestors.'
With a mind humbled by devotion, I wish for you all to offer reverence, for this is the great fruit.

A son should always carry out the commands of his ancestors.
The king of righteousness, with tears of joy and a choked voice, spoke to his son:
You alone are devoted to us and also act as our helper.
For this reason, O Haidamba, the virtuous desire sons.
Surely, as is the mother, so is the son.
Ah, how exceedingly difficult is what my beloved wife, the lady, accomplishes!
Surely, neither desire nor pleasures attract my wife in the least.
Even a woman of low birth, if she is devoted, gives birth to a devoted son.
Thus, the king spoke many such words, one after another.
O lotus-eyed one, you know how Bhima was born from him.

Therefore, Krishna, all-knowing, you know even the three worlds.
This is the speech that the king of righteousness spoke, word for word.
O King, I shall tell you of a worthy and auspicious bride for him.
She is the daughter of Mura, O son of Pritha, the Daitya of wondrous deeds.

That fierce one, accompanied by his fortress of snares, was slain by me.
After I killed the Daitya Mura, his daughter approached me.
Then, in a great battle, I faced her, armed with sword and shield.
With my sword I cut down her arrows—she, the daughter of Mura.
Garuda, overcome by bewilderment, became unconscious.
Seeing my discus raised on that battlefield,
You ought not to kill her—protect her, O Supreme Person.
Her intelligence is unmatched, and her power in battle is supreme.
When this was said, I spoke these words to the goddess.
Then Kāmākhyā, embracing her devotee, spoke these words.
No one is able to defeat Mādhava in battle, for he is unconquerable in war.
Even Tryambaka, O daughter, is not able to overcome him—how then could another?
