From birth onward, I have been deprived of my parents.
Then, in my fifth year, Vyasa came to me and recited prayers.
The scriptures, the Vedas, and all the laws had not been studied; there, you and Nandabhadra comforted the great-minded one.
After that, in Bahudaka, I cast my life and bones into the great waters.
Then Vyasa told me, 'You will attain liberation.'
Thus, I have told you everything about my own life.
Ah, your conduct is truly wondrous, by which my heart is moved.
But I wish to perform the expiation for the duty you have spoken of.
Here, at this holy place, I remained for seven days without food.
Then, at the Barkarika holy site, you must burn me on the bank.
If your mind harbors any denial toward me, even now—
In this Bahudaka holy place, where I relinquish my life—
Health, wealth, grain, and prosperity in sons, wives, and so forth—
The Sun, the supreme god, is the entirety for those born twice.
This Bahudaka pool must always be served by you.
Whoever bathes properly in the excellent Bahudaka pool—
And whoever bathes in Bahudaka on the seventh day of the month of Magha—
Whoever, pure, performs a sacrifice on the shore of Bahudaka—
Here, whoever gives up their life on the bank of Bahudaka, O man,
And whoever performs the practice of recitation on the shore of Bahudaka,
And whoever feeds a single twice-born on the bank of Bahudaka,
And whichever auspicious women are Gaurinikās on the bank of Bahudaka,
And whoever undertakes the practice of yoga on the shore of Bahudaka,
And whatever is given on the bank of Bahudaka for the departed,
Bathing, giving, recitation, oblation, self-study, and offerings to ancestors—
You should hold this in your heart; the result has been indicated by Vyāsa.
Having spoken thus, he became silent, then bathed in the pond and was pure.
Then, at the end of seven nights, the boy gave up his own life.
Where that boy, devoted to recitation, gave up his life,
And whoever, having bathed in Bahudaka, worships the young sun,
