Then you, at Koṭitīrtha, in the sacrifice of Hari the wise—
Having spoken thus, the blessed Viṣṇu entered into the image.
Then, bowing to the image of Vāsudeva, astonished—
Formerly, I was a Śūdra, fearful because of the faults of worldly existence.
He, compassionate, spoke to me the twelve-syllabled mantra.
By the power of reciting that, I was born from your womb.
Now I shall go to that sacrifice of Hari the wise.
Then, at the place called Koṭitīrtha, situated in the great city—
Having spoken to his mother at home, the twice-born addressed the sacrifice.
Because our minds are deluded by his illusion, we wander in the ocean of actions.
Having heard, they honored him with seat, worship, and other rites.
The sacrificers gave all the offerings, even their daughter, as gifts.
Having bowed to his own mother and produced pure sons,
He attained liberation afterwards through meditation on Vāsudeva.
Whatever one worships or praises, all is known to be imperishable for him.
Such a mortal attains this by the grace of Vāsudeva.
Then, O Pārtha, I again, desiring to show favor to people,
Because the blessed Sun is the nourisher of all living beings,
Those men who remember the Sun with devotion and praise him,
And those who are devoted to the Sun, whose minds are always fixed on him,
Beautiful dwellings, various ornaments, and women,
Devotion to the Sun is rare, and his worship is also difficult to obtain.
The two syllables 'Ravi', joined with acts like salutation,
Thus, having contemplated in my heart the great glory born of the Sun,
With pure recitation and the meter, subsisting on air,
Radiant and difficult to behold, the shining one appeared directly.
With joined palms, I bowed to the radiant lord Sun.
Pleased, the bestower of boons said to me, 'O divine sage, you have waited long.'
Thus addressed, I stood with folded hands before the Lord of the worlds and spoke these words.
O Lord, that power which manifests in any form at will proceeds from you.
