सार्धलक्षत्रयं प्रोक्तं द्रडस्य विषये तथा ३९.

एकविंशतिसाहस्रं ग्रामणां नीलपूरके ३९.
In Nīlapūraka, there are said to be twenty-one thousand villages.
नरेंदुनामदेशे तु लक्षमेकं सपादकम् ३९.
In the region called Nareṃdu, there are one hundred and fifteen thousand villages.
लक्षाष्टादशसाहस्रं नवती द्वे च मालवे ३९.
In Mālava, there are one million, eighteen thousand, and ninety-two villages.
मेवाडे च तथा प्रोक्तो लक्षश्चैकःसपादकः ३९.
Likewise, in Mevāḍa, it is said there are one hundred and fifteen thousand villages.

चतुर्दशशते द्वे च विंशतिः कच्छमंडलम् ३९.
The region of Kaccha is said to have fourteen hundred and twenty villages.
एकविंशतिसहस्रो लाडदेशः प्रकीर्तितः तथा चाश्वमुखं पार्थ दशसाहस्रमुच्यते॥ ३९.
Lāḍa is described as having twenty-one thousand villages; likewise, O Pārtha, Āśvamukha is said to have ten thousand.
सहस्रदशकं चापि एकपादः प्रकीर्तितः॥ ३९.

Similarly, the region called Sūryamukha is known to have ten thousand villages.

The region called Saṃjāyu is said to have ten thousand villages, and Kālahayaṃjaya is also known for ten thousand.
लिंगोद्भवस्तथा देशः सहस्राणि दशैव च ३९.
The region called Liṃgodbhava is likewise said to have ten thousand villages.
षट्त्रिंशच्च सहस्राणि स्मृतौ चटविराटकौ ३९.
Caṭa and Virāṭaka are remembered as having thirty-six thousand villages.
अष्टादश तथा कोट्यो रामको देश उच्यते ३९.
The region called Rāmaka is said to have eighteen crores of villages.
सपादलक्षग्रामाणां प्रत्येकं परिकीर्तितः ३९.
Each of these is described as having one hundred and fifteen thousand villages.
पुलस्त्यविषयश्चापि दशलक्षक उच्यते ३९.
The region of Pulastya is also said to have one million villages.
ग्रामाणां च चतुर्लक्षो बाल्हिकः परिकीर्त्यते ३९.
Bālhika is described as having four hundred thousand villages.
चतुःषष्टिसहस्राणि कुरुदेशः प्रकीर्तितः ३९.
Sixty-four thousand is declared as the number for the land of the Kurus.
पंच प्राहुस्तथा लक्षान्विदर्भायां च ग्रामकान् ३९.
And five lakhs of villages are said to be in Vidarbha.
सहस्रदशकं चापि सिंहलद्वीपमुच्यते ३९.
Ten thousand is also mentioned for the island of Simhala.
लक्षैकं च तथा प्रोक्तं ग्रामाणां तु भयाणकम् ३९.
One lakh is likewise stated for the villages of Bhayānaka.
षष्टिसहस्राणि तथा ग्रामाणां पांगुदेशकः ३९.
Sixty thousand villages are attributed to the region of Pāṅgu.
पंचविंशतिसाहस्रं मूलस्थानं प्रकीर्तितम् ३९.
Twenty-five thousand is declared as the root place.
चत्वार्येव सहस्राणि पक्षबाहुरुदीर्यते ३९.
Only four thousand are spoken of for Pakṣabāhu.
एवं भरतखंडेऽस्मिन्षण्णवत्येव कोटयः ३९.
Thus, in this land of Bharata, there are indeed ninety crores.
षट्त्रिंशच्च सहस्राणि वेलाकूलानि भारत ३९.
And thirty-six thousand are the coastal regions, O Bhārata.
आत्मीयमपि सा देवी अनिच्छुष्वपि तेषु च ३९.
Even her own possessions, the goddess gave among them, though they did not desire them.
