एकचित्तः शुचिर्भूत्वा सोऽभूष्टां सिद्धिमाप्नुयात् ३६.
Becoming single-minded and pure, he attains the desired accomplishment.
तस्य सिद्धिर्भवत्येव विघ्नैर्यदि न हन्यते ३६.
His accomplishment surely comes to be, unless he is struck by obstacles.
सिद्धिदा साधकेंद्राणां महाविद्यां जपंति ये ३६.
She who grants accomplishments to the foremost of practitioners is the great knowledge, recited by those who seek success.
मंत्रजाप्याद्ददात्येषा सर्वसिद्धीर्यथोप्सिताः ३६.
By reciting the mantra, she grants all accomplishments as desired.
सिद्धां बिकाप्रसादेन विघ्नक्षेत्रपयोर्मम ३६.
Accomplishment is attained by my favor at the place of obstacles and the Siddha-field.
अत्र सिद्धिं प्रयास्यंति कोटिशः पुरुषाः सुराः ३६.
Here, countless men and gods will strive for accomplishment.
यक्षत्वं चामरत्वं च प्राप्स्यंत्यत्र च साधकाः ३६.
Here, those who practice will attain the state of a yaksha or a celestial attendant.
सिद्धांबिकां समाराध्य सिद्धिमाप्स्यति दुर्लभाम् वादप्रचारतो वापि पुण्यावाप्तिर्भविष्यति॥ ३६.
By properly worshipping Siddhāmbikā, one will obtain even the most difficult accomplishments; or, through the spread of sacred discourse, one will gain merit.
त्र्यंबकेण वरेष्वेवं दत्तेष्वपि सुरोत्तमाः॥ ३६.
Thus, when these boons were granted by Tryambaka, O best of the gods,
प्रहृष्टाः समपद्यंत गाथां चेमां जगुस्तदा ३६.
They became delighted and then sang this verse together.
सर्वे देवाः सिद्धिलिंगं यो नरः पूजयिष्यति ३६.
Whoever among men worships the linga of accomplishment, all the gods—
इत्युक्त्वा ते जयं प्राप्ताः स्कंदेन सहिताः सुराः ३६.
Having spoken thus, the gods, together with Skanda, attained victory.
चतुर्वर्गफलावाप्तिं दत्त्वा क्षेत्रस्य संययुः ३६.
After granting the fruits of the four aims of life, they departed from the sacred field.
केचिल्लिंगानि पंचापि युद्धं केचिद्दिवं ययुः ३६.
Some took the five lingas, some went to battle, and others ascended to heaven.
सप्तमे मारुतस्कंधे व स नित्यं प्रियात्मज ३६.
In the seventh, on the shoulder of the wind-god, O beloved son, he always remains.
दर्शनान्मम भक्त्या च श्रेयः परमवाप्स्यसि ३६.
By seeing me and through devotion, you will attain the highest good.
इत्युक्त्वा विससर्जैनं परिष्वज्य महेश्वरः ३६.
Having spoken thus, the great Lord embraced him and let him go.
विसर्जिताः सुराजग्मुः स्वानिस्वान्यालयानि च ३६.
The gods, having been dismissed, returned to their own abodes.
इत्येतत्कथितं पार्थ लिंगपंचकसंभवम् ३६.
Thus, O Partha, has the origin of the five lingas been recounted.
श्रृणुयाच्छ्रावयेद्वापि स भवेत्कीर्तिमान्नरः ३६.
Whoever hears or causes this to be heard will become a man of fame.
भूतेभ्यो निर्भयश्चापि सर्वदुःखविवर्जितः ३६.
He will be fearless of spirits and free from all suffering.
श्रृणुयात्स्कंदचरितं महाधनपतिर्भवेत् ३६.
Whoever hears the deeds of Skanda will become a possessor of great wealth.
इदं तत्परमं धन्यं सर्वदोषहरं सदा ३६.
This is indeed supremely blessed and always destroys all faults.
वरमेनं ददुर्देवाः स्कंदस्याथ गता दिवम्॥ ३६.
The gods granted this boon and then went to heaven after Skanda.
बर्बरीतीर्थमाहात्म्यमथो वक्ष्यामि तेऽर्जुन ३७.
Now, Arjuna, I shall tell you the greatness of the holy place called Barbarī.
कुमारिकेति विख्याता तस्या नाम्ना प्रकथ्यते ३७.
It is renowned by the name Kumārikā, and is spoken of by that name.
यया कृता पृथिव्यां च नानाग्रामादिकल्पना ३७.
By her, the arrangement of various villages and such on earth was made.
महदेतन्ममाश्चर्यं श्रोतव्यं परमं मुने ३७.
This is a great and wondrous matter of mine, O sage, which must be heard.
कथं विश्वमिदं जातं कर्मजातिप्रकल्पितम् ३७.
How did this universe, determined by karma and caste, come into being?
अव्यक्तोऽस्मिन्निरालोके प्रधानपुरुषावुभौ ३७.
In this unmanifest, lightless state, both Pradhāna and Puruṣa existed.
