ततो वैशाखमासस्य चतुर्द्दश्यां शुभे दिने ३४.
Then, on the auspicious fourteenth day of the month of Vaiśākha—
जगुर्गंधर्वपतयो ननृतुश्चाप्सरोगणाः ३४.
The lords of the Gandharvas sang, and the hosts of Apsarases danced.
सर्वतीर्थोदकैः स्नाप्य तल्लिंगं भक्तिसंयुतः ३४.
Bathing that liṅga with the waters of all the holy places, with devotion—
पूजाकाले स्वयं तत्र लिंगमध्येस्थितो हरः ३४.
At the time of worship, Hara himself was present there within the liṅga.
ततस्तं पूजयन्प्राह स्कंदो भक्तिपरिप्लुतः ३४.
Then, filled with devotion, Skanda honored him and spoke.
मम यः स्थापयेल्लिंगं शुभं सद्म च कारयेत् ३४.
Whoever establishes a pure liṅga for me and builds a dwelling as well,
मम सद्म सुधाशुभ्रं यावत्संख्यं करोति यः ३४.
Whoever constructs my dwelling, shining white as nectar, in whatever number,
ध्वजभूतो ध्वजं दत्त्वा विपापः स्यात्पताकया ३४.
By offering a flag as a banner, one becomes free from sin through the flag.
रजःसंशोधनं कृत्वा नरो रोगैः प्रमुच्यते ३४.
Having purified the dust, a person is released from diseases.
पुष्पक्षीरादि भिर्दत्तैस्तिलाभोऽक्षतदर्भकैः ३४.
By giving flowers, milk and similar items, sesame, unbroken rice, and darbha grass,
घृतेन हतपापः स्यान्मधुना सुभगो भवेत् ३४.
By offering ghee, one is freed from sin; by honey, one becomes fortunate.
पानीयदधिदुग्धाद्यैः क्रमाद्दशगुणं फलम् ३४.
By water, curd, milk and so forth, the fruit increases tenfold in order.
कपिलापंचगव्येन सुरसिंधुजलेन वा ३४.
With the five products of the cow from a tawny cow, or with water from the celestial river,
कुशोदकाद्गंधजलं तस्मात्तीर्थोदकं वरम् ३४.
From kuśa-water or fragrant water, sacred water from a tīrtha is superior.
कपिलां दत्त्वा यदाप्नोति तत्फलं कलशे पृथक् ३४.
The fruit obtained by giving a tawny cow is separately gained by offering it in a pot.
श्रीखंडागरुकाश्मीरशशिनः क्रमशोऽधिकाः ३४.
Sandalwood, agaru, and Kashmir saffron, and moonstone, each is superior in turn.
प्रशस्तो गुग्लुलो धूपस्तस्माच्चंद्रोऽगरुर्वरः ३४.
Guggulu incense is praised; among them, moonstone and agaru are the best.
दीपदः कीर्तिमाप्नोति चक्षुरुत्तममेव च ३४.
One who gives a lamp attains fame and excellent eyesight.
पुष्पेण हेमकर्णस्य प्रबद्धेन द्विसंगुणम् ३४.
With a flower bound to a golden ear, the result is doubled.
अखंडैर्बिल्वपत्रैश्च पुष्पैर्वा विविधैरपि ३४.
With unbroken bilva leaves or even various flowers,
यस्तु पुष्पगृहं कुर्यान्नरः शुद्धाशयो भवेत् ३४.
Whoever builds a flower-house becomes a person of pure intent.
भूषणांबरदानेन नरो भवति भोगभाक् ३४.
By giving ornaments and garments, a person becomes an enjoyer of pleasures.
रम्यं वितानं यो दद्याच्छत्रुभिर्नाभूयते ३४.
Whoever gives a beautiful canopy is not overcome by enemies.
शंखघंटाप्रदानेन विद्वान्भवति शब्दवान् ३४.
By giving conch shells and bells, a person becomes learned and eloquent.
नमस्कारं प्रणामं च कृत्वा जायेन्महाकुले ३४.
By offering salutations and bowing, one is born in a noble family.
विमुच्यते मनोमोहैर्भक्त्या स्तुत्वा च मां नरः ३४.
A person, praising me with devotion, is freed from delusions of the mind.
आरार्तिकं भ्रामयित्वा अर्तिहीनः प्रजायते ३४.
After waving the lamp for worship, one is born free from distress.
नत्वा दत्त्वाथ शक्त्या च दानं लिंगस्य संनिधौ ३४.
After bowing and giving according to one's ability in the presence of the linga, one attains merit.
प्रणामात्पंचदश च स्नानाद्विंशतिं पूजया ३४.
From bowing, fifteen; from bathing, twenty; from worship, one gains merit.
एतत्सर्वं यथोद्दिष्टं कुमारात्र भविष्यति ३४.
All this, as declared, will come to pass, O Kumara.
