शतोलूकमुखी कृष्णा कर्णप्रावरणा तथा ३०.
Shatolukamukhi, Krishna, and also Karna-pravarana,
एताश्चान्याश्च बह्व्यश्च मातरो भरतर्षभ ३०.
And these and many other Mothers, O best of the Bharatas,
वृक्षचत्वरवासिन्यश्चतुष्पथनिवेशनाः ३०.
Dwelling at the bases of trees and at crossroads,
नानाभरणवेषास्ता नानामूर्तिधरास्तथा ३०.
Adorned with various ornaments and garments, and assuming many forms,
ततः स शुशुभे श्रीमान्गुहो गुह इवापरः ३०.
Then that illustrious Guha shone, like another Guha,
ततः प्रणम्य सर्वांस्ता नेकैकत्वेन पावकिः ३०.
Then, having bowed to them all, Pāvaki addressed them individually and collectively,
ते चैनं योज्य चाशीर्भिरयाचंत वरं गुहम् ३१.
They, joining him with blessings, asked Guha to choose a boon,
एवमस्त्विति तानुक्त्वा योगोयोग इति ब्रुवन् ३१.
Saying, 'So be it,' to them, he replied, 'Union and non-union.'
शक्तिहस्तो विनद्याथ गुहो देवांस्तदाब्रवीत् ३१.
With the spear in hand, Guha cried out and then spoke to the gods.
गोब्राह्मणावमन्तॄणां ततो यामि गतिं स्फुटम् ३१.
For those who insult cows and Brahmins, I now go to their clear fate.
योगोयोग इति प्राहुराज्ञया शरजन्मनः ३१.
They call it yoga and union, by the command of the son of the arrow.
अथाग्रे सर्वदेवानां स्थितो वीरो ययौ मुदा ३१.
Then, standing before all the gods, the hero went forth with joy.
चरणाभ्यां चरणाभ्यां गिरीञ्छक्तो यो विदारयितुं रणे ३१.
With his feet, with his feet, he is able to split mountains in battle.
तन्मया गुहशक्तिः सा भृशं हस्ते व्यरोचत ३१.
That spear of Guha, made by me, shone greatly in his hand.
योत्स्यमानस्य वीरस्य देहेप्रादुरभूत्स्वयम् ३१.
As the hero prepared to fight, it appeared in his body by itself.
बलमोजः कृपा चव बद्धा करयुगं तथा ३१.
Strength, energy, and compassion were bound together in both his hands.
तमग्रे चापि गच्छंतं पृष्ठतोनुययौ हरः ३१.
And as he went forward, Hara followed behind him.
निर्मितेन हरेणैव स्वयमीशेन लीलया ३१.
Created by Hara himself, by the Lord's own playful act.
अभीषून्पुरुषव्याघ्र ब्रह्मा च जगृहे स्वयम् ३१.
The tiger among men, Brahma himself, took up the arrows.
सिंहा रथस्य गच्छंतो नदंतश्चारुकेसराः ३१.
Lions, moving with the chariot, roared, their beautiful manes shining.
विद्युता मेडितः सूर्यः सेंद्रचापघनो यथा ३१.
The sun, adorned with lightning, was like a rain cloud with Indra's bow.
आस्थाय रुचिरं याति पुष्पकं नरवाहनः ३१.
Naravāhana ascended the splendid Puṣpaka chariot and proceeded.
पृष्ठतोनुययौ यांतं वरदं वृषभध्वजम् ३१.
Varada, the one with the bull-banner, was followed from behind as he went.
गच्छंति वसुभिः सार्धं रुद्रैश्च सह संगताः ३१.
They went, joined together with the Vasus and accompanied by the Rudras.
घोरैर्व्याधिशतैश्चापि सव्यतो याति कोपितः ३१.
Angry, he advanced, surrounded on the left by hundreds of fierce diseases.
विजयोनाम रुद्रस्य याति शूलः स्वयं कृतः ३१.
The spear called Vijaya, made by Rudra himself, went forth.
परिवार्य शतैयाति यादोभिर्विविधैर्वृतः ३१.
Surrounded on all sides, he advances with hundreds of Yadus, accompanied by various others.
गदामुशलशक्त्याद्यैर्वरप्रहरणैर्वृतः ३१.
He is encircled by noble warriors wielding maces, clubs, spears, and other excellent weapons.
बहुशीर्षं महाघोरमेकपादं बहूदरम् ३१.
Many-headed, exceedingly terrifying, with one foot and many mouths.
तस्य दक्षिणतो भाति दण्डो गच्छञ्छ्रिया वृतः ३१.
To his right shines a staff, moving along, adorned with splendor.
