त्रिःशोणाचलनाथेति निनदन्ननघो भवेत्
By thrice proclaiming 'Lord of Śoṇa Mountain,' one becomes free from sin.
अरुणेश्वरमंत्रं च जपेन्मोक्षेच्छुरादरात्
One who desires liberation should recite the mantra of Aruṇeśvara with reverence.
कुर्वतारुणशैलस्य तत्प्राप्यं शुभमंजसा
By performing acts for Aruṇa Mountain, one attains its auspicious reward directly.
प्रीत्युत्कर्षेऽपि च बुधैरुच्चार्योऽरुणशंकरः 1.3.2.6.
Even in the highest joy, the wise should utter the name 'Aruṇa Śaṃkara.'
त्रीण्यहान्यरुणक्षेत्रे वसन्मुच्येत पातकैः
One who dwells for three days in the field of Aruṇa is freed from sins.
एष दक्षिणकैलासो योसावरुणपर्वतः
This is the southern Kailāsa, which is that very mountain of Aruṇa.
अस्मिन्स्मरणमात्रेण तारतम्यं विचिंत्यताम्
Even by merely remembering this place, consider the gradation of its merit.
कर्म सेतौ च यत्पुंसां शोणक्षेत्रे ततोऽधिकम्
The merit of actions performed at the Śoṇa field surpasses that of those done at the Setu.
राजसूयाश्वमेधौ च कुर्याच्छोणाचले बुधः
A wise person should perform the Rājasūya and Aśvamedha sacrifices on the Śoṇa mountain.
तस्य चांद्रायणशतं भवेत्सांतपनायुतम्
For him, it is as if he has performed a hundred Cāndrāyaṇa vows or ten thousand Sāṃtapana rites.
अनुष्ठितानि कल्पोक्तं कुर्वंति द्विगुणं फलम्
Those rites performed here according to the prescribed rules yield double the result.
इति नंदिकेश्वरमुखेन शुश्रुवान्मुनिनंदनोथ निरयप्रतिक्रियाम्
Thus, through the words of Nandikeśvara, the son of the sage heard also the means to counteract hell.
अवश्यं तस्य सिध्यंति सार्वभौममहर्द्धयः
All-encompassing great prosperities are surely attained by him.
सौम्यवारेऽरुणाद्रीशं कस्तूरीकरवीरकैः
On Monday, one should worship the Lord of Aruṇādri with musk and oleander flowers.
गुरुवारे सितांभोजैः शोणेशं वरिवस्यतः
On Thursday, worship the Lord of Śoṇa with white lotuses.
चंपकैर्मल्लिकाभिश्च शुक्रवारे समर्चयेत्
On Friday, he should be worshipped with campaka and jasmine flowers.
सौरिवारे च जातीभिस्समाराध्यारुणेश्वरम्
On Saturday, one should propitiate the Lord of Aruṇa with jātī flowers.
प्रथमायां तिथौ देवस्योपहारं समर्पयेत्
On the first lunar day, one should offer an oblation to the deity.
द्वितीयस्यां तिथौ भक्त्या यो दध्यन्नं निवेदयेत्
On the second lunar day, whoever devotedly offers curd-rice as an offering—
तृतीयायां च योऽपूपैः शोणेशं परितर्पयेत्
And on the third day, whoever satisfies the Lord of Śoṇa with cakes—
चतुर्थ्यामरुणेशाय पूर्णकुम्भोत्करादिकम्
On the fourth day, one should offer to Aruṇeśa a full water-pot and other such items.
मुद्गौदनं च पंचम्यामुपहारं प्रकल्पयेत 1.3.2.7.
On the fifth day, one should prepare an offering of rice with mung beans.
षष्ठ्यां गुडौदनं दद्यादरुणाचलशम्भवे
On the sixth day, one should offer rice cooked with jaggery to Śiva of Aruṇācala.
तिलौदनं यस्सप्तम्यां शोणेशाय समर्पयेत्
On the seventh day, whoever presents sesame rice to the Lord of Śoṇa is blessed.
अष्टम्यां राजशाल्यन्नं यो दद्याच्छोणशम्भवे
On the eighth day, whoever gives royal rice to Śiva of Śoṇa is virtuous.
गोधूमान्नं नवम्यां च शोणाद्रीशाय योऽर्पयेत्
On the ninth day, whoever offers wheat rice to the Lord of Śoṇa mountain is meritorious.
दशम्यां शोणनाथाय यः करंभं निवेदयेत्
On the tenth day, whoever presents karaṃbha to the Lord of Śoṇa is praiseworthy.
पृथुकैरुपहारान्य एकादश्यां प्रकल्पयेत्
On the eleventh day, one should prepare offerings with flattened rice.
द्वादश्यां शोणनाथाय सूपौदननिवेदनम्
On the twelfth day, the offering of rice with soup should be made to the Lord of Śoṇa.
यः सक्तूनरुणेशाय त्रयोदश्यां समर्पयेत्
Whoever offers saktu flour to the Lord of Aruṇa on the thirteenth day is blessed.
