बबंध प्रणयोदारविस्फारितविलोचनः २६.
With eyes expanded by noble affection, he bound it.
कपालमालां विपुलां चामुण्डा मूर्ध्न्यबंधत २६.
Chamunda bound a great garland of skulls upon her head.
यो दैत्येंद्रकुलं हत्वा मां रक्तैस्तर्पयिष्यति २६.
He who, having slain the race of Daitya lords, will satisfy me with their blood—
बबंध देवदेवस्यच स्वयमेव प्रमोदतः २६.
She herself joyfully bound it for the Lord of gods.
आत्मानं भूषणस्थाने स्वयं ते चक्रुरीश्वरे २६.
They themselves made their own bodies into ornaments for the Lord.
वृषं विभूषयामासुर्नानारत्नोपपत्तिभिः २६.
They adorned the bull with various precious gems.
विना भस्म समाधाय कपाले रजतप्रभम् २६.
Except for ashes, they placed a skull shining like silver.
वह्निस्तेजोमयं दिव्यमजिनं प्रददौ स्थितः २६.
The fire, radiant and divine, gave a celestial hide while standing there.
ततो हिमाद्रेः पुरुषा वीरकं प्रोचिरे वचः २६.
Then the men of Himavat spoke words to Viraka.
ततो देवं प्रणम्याह वीरकः करसंपुटी २६.
Then, having bowed to the god, Viraka spoke with hands joined.
इति श्रुत्वा वचो देवः शीघ्रमित्येव चाब्रवीत् २६.
Hearing these words, the god replied only, 'Quickly.'
तत्रैक्षत महादेवः स्वरूपं स जगन्मयम् २६.
There, the great god beheld his own form, which pervades the universe.
देवदेव महादेव त्रिपुरांतक शंकर २६.
O god of gods, great god, destroyer of Tripura, Śaṅkara!
महेश्वर यथा साक्षादपरस्त्वं महेश्वरः २६.
O great lord, as you are directly, so too are you the supreme lord.
करमालंब्य विष्णोश्च वृषभं रुरुहेशनैः २६.
Taking Viṣṇu by the hand, he gently mounted the bull.
धनदो निदिभिर्युक्तः समीपस्थस्ततोऽभवत् २६.
Kubera, endowed with his treasures, then stood nearby.
देवदुंदुभिनादैश्च पुष्पासारैश्च गीतकैः २६.
With the sounds of divine drums, showers of flowers, and songs,
सव्यदक्षिणसंस्थानौ ब्रह्मविष्णूतु जग्मतुः २६.
Brahmā and Viṣṇu went to the left and right sides.
अथादितिर्दितिः सा च दनुः कद्रूः सुपर्णजा २६.
Then Aditi, Diti, Danu, Kadrū, and Suparṇajā,
सिद्धिर्माया क्षमा दुर्गा देवी स्वाहा स्वधा सुधा २६.
Siddhi, Māyā, Kṣamā, Durgā, the goddess, Svāhā, Svadha, and Sudhā,
स्पृहामतिर्धृतिर्बुद्धिर्मंथिर्ऋद्धिः सरस्वती २६.
Desire, intelligence, fortitude, wisdom, patience, prosperity, and Sarasvatī,
धरणी धारणी वेला राज्ञी चापि च रोहिणी २६.
The earth, support, the shore, the queen, and also Rohiṇī,
उद्वाहं देवदेवस्य जग्मुः सर्वा मुदान्विताः २६.
All joyfully went to the wedding of the god of gods.
सागरा गिरयो मेघा मासाः संवत्सरास्तथा २६.
The oceans, mountains, clouds, months, and years as well,
हुंकाराः प्रणवाश्चैव इतिहासाः सहस्रशः २६.
The sacred syllable 'hum', the praṇava, and thousands of histories,
अनुजग्मुर्महादेवं कोटिशोऽर्बुदशश्च हि २६.
Followed the great god by the millions and hundreds of millions.
दशभिः केकराख्याश्च विद्युतोऽष्टाभिरेव च २६.
Ten called Kekarā, and also eight lightnings,
षड्भिः सर्वांतकः श्रीमांस्तथैव विकृताननः २६.
With six, the glorious destroyer of all, and likewise the one with a fierce face.
सप्तभिः समदः श्रीमान्दुंदुभोष्ठाभिरेव च २६.
The illustrious Samada, with seven, and Dundubhoṣṭha likewise.
कोटिकोटिभिरेवैकः कुंडकः कुंभकस्तथा २६.
Kuṇḍaka and Kuṃbhaka, each with ten million, as well.
