वपुश्चकार देवेशस्त्र्यंबकः परमाद्भुतम् २५.
The Lord of the gods, Tryambaka, manifested a most wondrous form.
सब्रह्मकाः ससाध्याश्च वसुर्विश्वे च देवताः २५.
Together with Brahmā, the Ādityas, Vasus, Viśvedevas, and other deities,
तेभ्यः परतमं चक्षुः स्ववपुर्द्रष्टुमुत्तमम् २५.
To them he granted a higher vision to behold his supreme form.
लब्ध्वा रुद्रप्रसादेन दिव्यं चक्षुरनुत्तमम् २५.
By Rudra’s grace, they obtained a divine and unsurpassed sight.
ततो जगुश्च मुनयः पुष्पवृष्टिं च खेचराः २५.
Then the sages sang, and the celestial beings showered flowers from the sky.
जगुगधर्वमुख्याश्च ननृतुश्चाप्सरोगणाः २५.
The chief Gandharvas sang, and the groups of Apsarases danced.
ब्रह्माद्या मेनिरे पूर्णां भवानीं च गिरीश्वरम् २५.
Brahmā and the others considered Bhavānī and the Lord of the Mountains to be complete.
पादयोः स्थापयामास मालां दिव्यां सुगंधिनीम् २५.
They placed a divine, fragrant garland at his feet.
सह देव्या नमश्चक्रुः शिरोभिर्भूतलाश्रितैः २५.
Along with the goddess, they bowed with their heads touching the ground.
अथ ब्रह्मा महादेवमभिवाद्य कृतांजलिः २६.
Then Brahmā, with joined palms, respectfully greeted Mahādeva.
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा प्राहेदं भगवान्हरः २६.
Hearing his words, the blessed Lord Hara spoke thus:
यद्युक्तं क्रियतां तद्धि वयं युष्मद्वशेऽधुना २६.
If it is proper, let it be done; for now we are under your authority.
उद्वाहार्थं महेशस्य तत्क्षणात्समकल्पयत् २६.
She immediately prepared for the marriage of Mahesha.
पुरेतस्मिन्महादेवः स्वयमेव व्यतिष्ठत २६.
At that place, Mahadeva himself stood forth.
प्राहिणोदंबिकायाश्च स्थिरपत्रार्थमीश्वरः २६.
The Lord sent for Ambika to obtain the steadfast leaves.
सभार्यामीश्वरगुणैः स्थिरपत्राणि चादधुः २६.
Together with his wife, they took the steadfast leaves, endowed with the qualities of the Lord.
न्यवेदयंस्र्यंबकाय स च तानभ्यनंदत २६.
They presented them to Tryambaka, and he was pleased with them.
समागतं च तत्सव विना दैत्यैर्दुरात्मभिः २६.
That assembly gathered, without the evil-minded Daityas.
सब्रह्यकं पुरारातेर्महिमानमवर्धयत् २६.
The glory of the destroyer of cities increased, along with Brahma and others.
पुरे स्थितं विवाहस्य देव कालः प्रवर्तते २६.
In the city, the time for the gods’ wedding ceremony commenced.
बबंध प्रणयोदारविस्फारितविलोचनः २६.
With eyes expanded by noble affection, he bound it.
कपालमालां विपुलां चामुण्डा मूर्ध्न्यबंधत २६.
Chamunda bound a great garland of skulls upon her head.
यो दैत्येंद्रकुलं हत्वा मां रक्तैस्तर्पयिष्यति २६.
He who, having slain the race of Daitya lords, will satisfy me with their blood—
बबंध देवदेवस्यच स्वयमेव प्रमोदतः २६.
She herself joyfully bound it for the Lord of gods.
आत्मानं भूषणस्थाने स्वयं ते चक्रुरीश्वरे २६.
They themselves made their own bodies into ornaments for the Lord.
वृषं विभूषयामासुर्नानारत्नोपपत्तिभिः २६.
They adorned the bull with various precious gems.
विना भस्म समाधाय कपाले रजतप्रभम् २६.
Except for ashes, they placed a skull shining like silver.
वह्निस्तेजोमयं दिव्यमजिनं प्रददौ स्थितः २६.
The fire, radiant and divine, gave a celestial hide while standing there.
ततो हिमाद्रेः पुरुषा वीरकं प्रोचिरे वचः २६.
Then the men of Himavat spoke words to Viraka.
ततो देवं प्रणम्याह वीरकः करसंपुटी २६.
Then, having bowed to the god, Viraka spoke with hands joined.
