स्तंभिता देवदेवेन तथान्ये भुवनेषु ये २५.
All these were restrained by the divine Lord, as were others in the worlds.
तस्यापि दशनाः पेतुर्दृष्टमात्रस्य शंभुना २५.
Even his teeth fell out as soon as he was seen by Śambhu.
बलं तेजश्च योगांश्च सर्वेषां जगृहे प्रभुः २५.
The Lord seized the strength, brilliance, and powers of them all.
ब्रह्मा ध्यानमुपाश्रित्य बुबोध हरचेष्टितम् २५.
Brahmā, resorting to meditation, understood the act of Hara.
पौराणैः सामसंगीतैर्वेदिकैर्गुह्यनामभिः २५.
With ancient Sāman chants, Vedic hymns, and secret names—
प्रसादात्तव बुद्ध्यादिर्जगदेतत्प्रवर्तते २५.
By your grace, O Lord, intellect and the rest arise, and this whole world proceeds.
महादेवमिहायातं सर्वदेवनमस्कृतम् २५.
The great god has come here, honored by all the gods.
ततः संभ्रम संपन्नास्तुष्टुवुः प्रणताः सुराः २५.
Then the gods, filled with awe, bowed down and praised him.
दुराचारान्भवानस्मानात्मद्रोहपरायणान् २५.
You, Lord, are for us who are of evil conduct and intent on self-betrayal.
भार्यामुमां महादेवीं तथाप्यत्र समागताः २५.
And your wife, Umā, the great goddess, has also come here.
येषामेवंविधाबुद्धिरस्माभिः किं कृतं त्विदम् २५.
For those whose minds are thus, what have we done, indeed?
त्वयैव पतिना सर्वे प्रेरिताः कुर्महे विभो २५.
By you alone, O Lord, as our master, we are all impelled to act.
भ्रामयस्यखिलं विश्वं यन्त्रारूढं स्वमायया २५.
You make the entire universe revolve, mounted on the machine of your own illusion.
तस्मै पशुनां पतये नमस्तुभ्यं प्रसीद नः २५.
To him, the Lord of creatures, we bow; be gracious to us.
यथापूर्वं चकारैतान्संस्तवाद्ब्रह्मणः प्रभुः २५.
As before, the Lord performed these acts in response to Brahmā’s praise.
कोयमंग महादेवो न मन्यामो वयं च तम् २५.
Who is this great god, O friend? We do not regard him as anything special.
हुंकारेणैव ते दैत्याः स्वमेव नगरं गताः २५.
By a mere utterance of 'hum', those demons returned to their own city.
महादेवप्रभावेन दैत्यानां घोरकर्मणाम् २५.
By the power of Mahādeva, the terrible deeds of the demons were subdued.
कथमीश्वरवाक्यार्थस्तस्मादन्यत्र मुच्यते २५.
How can the meaning of the Lord’s words be otherwise interpreted?
ईश्वरं भुवनस्यास्य ये भजंते न त्र्यंबकम् २५.
Those who worship the Lord of this world but not Tryambaka are deluded.
वपुश्चकार देवेशस्त्र्यंबकः परमाद्भुतम् २५.
The Lord of the gods, Tryambaka, manifested a most wondrous form.
सब्रह्मकाः ससाध्याश्च वसुर्विश्वे च देवताः २५.
Together with Brahmā, the Ādityas, Vasus, Viśvedevas, and other deities,
तेभ्यः परतमं चक्षुः स्ववपुर्द्रष्टुमुत्तमम् २५.
To them he granted a higher vision to behold his supreme form.
लब्ध्वा रुद्रप्रसादेन दिव्यं चक्षुरनुत्तमम् २५.
By Rudra’s grace, they obtained a divine and unsurpassed sight.
ततो जगुश्च मुनयः पुष्पवृष्टिं च खेचराः २५.
Then the sages sang, and the celestial beings showered flowers from the sky.
जगुगधर्वमुख्याश्च ननृतुश्चाप्सरोगणाः २५.
The chief Gandharvas sang, and the groups of Apsarases danced.
ब्रह्माद्या मेनिरे पूर्णां भवानीं च गिरीश्वरम् २५.
Brahmā and the others considered Bhavānī and the Lord of the Mountains to be complete.
पादयोः स्थापयामास मालां दिव्यां सुगंधिनीम् २५.
They placed a divine, fragrant garland at his feet.
सह देव्या नमश्चक्रुः शिरोभिर्भूतलाश्रितैः २५.
Along with the goddess, they bowed with their heads touching the ground.
अथ ब्रह्मा महादेवमभिवाद्य कृतांजलिः २६.
Then Brahmā, with joined palms, respectfully greeted Mahādeva.
