Who are you, O goddess of Kāśi? Tell me, beautiful one, what should I do?
Know me as the fortune of the three worlds, O best of Daityas.
A man who is vigorous, not lazy, devoted to austerity, and fearless—
Not one who is timid, greatly distressed, or a source of suffering to virtuous women—
When your mother was insulted by Mahendra—
Then Tāraka spoke to her, saying the highest words.
Then the wives of the Dānavas, adorned, approached the lord of the Daityas.
The gods stood at the gate, bound by the Daityas, greatly afflicted.
Meanwhile, Viṣṇu assumed the form of a Daitya.
This is a minor matter, whatever is seen of these.
Having encountered one who is stronger, he neither bows nor exists.
Through mockery, these received instruction from Hari's mouth.
The Daityas and Asura women danced in many ways.
Then Viṣṇu, wise, spoke to the Daitya doorkeeper.
The doorkeeper, delighted, entered the assembly hall.
He spoke words that were clear, concise, and unambiguous.
If you truly desire to see that which brings great delight, you are worthy to do so.
Upon hearing these words, the charioteer then spoke to Kālanemi.
Together with the guardians of the demons, you should act favorably toward the king.
In the midst of the monkeys, Viṣṇu, the Sun, has arrived, abandoning his demonhood.
The monkeys, with their demon-slaying prowess, rejoicing and delighting, are present.
May the monkey gods grant you safety; being pleased, I bestow this upon you.
Hearing this, Viṣṇu among the monkeys danced and spoke these words.
When this was spoken, Tāraka, the foremost among demons, laughed and replied.
Then the monkey Sun addressed him: 'If this is so, remember your own words.'
O king, the truth surpasses even a hundred horse sacrifices.
Then the demon, greatly astonished, spoke these words.
If the name Nārāyaṇa has reached your hearing,
And if that is the most honored dharma for you, then let your own word be upheld.
O king, you must not allow neglect to arise in your heart.
