ददो स दश धर्माय कश्यपाय त्रयोदश १४.
He gave ten daughters to Dharma, and thirteen to Kashyapa.
भूतांगिरः कृशाश्वेभ्यो द्वेद्वे चैव ददौ प्रभुः १४.
The Lord gave two each to Bhūta, Angiras, and Kṛśāśva.
यासां प्रसूतिप्रभवा लोका आपूरितास्त्रयः १४.
From whose offspring, three worlds became filled.
वसुर्सुहूर्ता संकल्पा धर्मपत्न्यः सुताञ्छृणु १४.
Vasu, Suhūrtā, and Saṃkalpā were wives of Dharma; listen to their sons.
विद्योत आसील्लंबायां ततश्च स्तनयित्नवः १४.
There was lightning in Lambā, and then thunder followed.
भुवो दुर्गस्तथा स्वर्गो नंदश्चैव ततोऽभवत् १४.
From her came Durga on earth, Svarga in heaven, and then Nanda.
साध्या द्वादश साध्याया अर्थसिद्धिस्तु तत्सुतः १४.
The Sādhyas, twelve in number, were born of Sādhyā; Arthasiddhi was her son.
नरनारायणौ प्राहुर्यौ तौ ज्ञानविदो जनाः १४.
People knowledgeable in wisdom declare that Nara and Nārāyaṇa are those two.
ये वै फलं प्रयच्छंति भूतानां स्वं स्वकालजम् १४.
They indeed grant to beings the fruit that arises for each at its proper time.
सुरूपासूत तनयान्रुद्रानेकादशैव तु १४.
Surūpā gave birth to sons, the eleven Rudras.
अजकः शासनः शास्ता शंभुश्चांत्यो भवस्तथा १४.
Ajaka, Śāsana, Śāstā, Śambhu, and the last, Bhava.
प्रजापतेरंगिरसः स्वधा पत्नी पितॄनथ १४.
Of Prajāpati, Aṅgiras, and Svadhā, the wife, came the Pitṛs.
कृशाश्वस्य च द्वे भार्ये अर्चिश्च दिषणा तथा १४.
Kṛśāśva had two wives: Arci and Diṣaṇā.
पतंगी यामिनी ताम्रा तिमिश्चारिष्टनेमिनः १४.
Pataṅgī, Yāminī, Tāmrā, and Timi were the wives of Ariṣṭanemi.
ताम्रायाः श्येनगृध्राद्यास्तिमेर्यादोगणास्तथा १४.
From Tāmrā came hawks, vultures, and other birds, and from Timi, groups of aquatic creatures.
श्रृणु नामानि लोकानां मातॄणां शंकराणि च १४.
Hear the auspicious names of the mothers of the worlds.
अरिष्टा विनता ग्रावा दया क्रोधवशा इरा १४.
Ariṣṭā, Vinatā, Grāvā, Dayā, Krodhavaśā, and Irā.
आदित्याश्चादितेः पुत्रा दितेर्दैत्याः प्रकीर्तिताः १४.
The Ādityas are the sons of Aditi; the Daityas are said to be the sons of Diti.
दनायुषस्तथा जातो दनायुश्च गणो बली १४.
Danāyu was also born, and Danāyu's group was powerful.
विनतासूत अरुणं गरुडं च महाबलम् १४.
Vinatā gave birth to Aruṇa and mighty Garuḍa.
जातः क्रोधवशायाश्च इराया भूरुहाः स्मृताः १४.
From Krodhavaśā was born Ira, and from Ira, the plants are remembered.
तत्र द्वौ तनयौ यौ च दितेस्तौ विष्णुना हतौ १४.
There, the two sons of Diti were slain by Viṣṇu.
ततो निहतपुत्रा सा दितिराराध्य कश्यपम् १४.
Then, Diti, whose sons had been slain, worshipped Kaśyapa.
समरे शक्रहंतारं स तस्या अददात्प्रभुः १४.
In battle, the Lord granted her a slayer of Indra.
इत्युक्ता सा तथा चक्रे पुष्करस्था समाहिता १४.
Thus addressed, she acted accordingly, focused in mind at Puṣkara.
उपासामाचरद्भक्त्या सा चैनमन्वमन्यत १४.
She performed worship with devotion and regarded him favorably.
उवाच शक्रं सुप्रीता भक्त्या शक्रस्य तोषिता दितिरुवाच १४.
Diti, pleased by Indra's devotion and gratified by him, spoke to Indra.
भविष्यति तव भ्राता तेन सार्धमिमां श्रियम् १४.
Your brother will be born, and with him you will share this prosperity.
इत्युक्त्वा निद्रयाविष्टा चरणाक्रांतमूर्धजा १४.
Having spoken thus, she was overcome by sleep, her head touched by feet.
तत्तु रंध्रमवेक्ष्यैव योगमूर्तिस्तदाविशत् १४.
Seeing that opening, the embodiment of yoga entered at that moment.
