प्रमथाश्च तथा सर्वे तथा चंडीगणाः परे २७.
Likewise, all the Pramathas and the fierce hosts of Caṇḍī were present.
शिवस्योद्वहनं विप्राः शिवेन परिभाविताः २७.
O Brāhmaṇas, the wedding of Śiva was sanctified by Śiva himself.
पार्वतीसहितः शंभुः शंभुना सह पार्वती २७.
Śaṃbhu was together with Pārvatī, and Pārvatī was with Śaṃbhu.
तथा प्रकृतिपुंसौ च ऐकपद्येन नान्यथा २७.
Thus, the Lord and the Lady of Nature were united as one, not otherwise.
विमास्थस्तदा ब्रह्मा विष्णुश्च गरुडोपरि २७.
At that time, Brahmā was in his aerial chariot, and Viṣṇu was upon Garuḍa.
पाशी च मकरा रूढो यमो महिषमेव च २७.
Yama, holding a noose, rode a buffalo, and Varuṇa mounted a makara.
मृगारूढोऽथ पवन ईशो वृषभमेव च २७.
The Wind-god rode a deer, and Īśa (Śiva) a bull.
स्वैः स्वैर्बलैः परिक्रांतास्तथान्ये प्रमथादयः २७.
Each with their own forces, others such as the Pramathas also moved about.
सह्याचलो नीलगिरिर्मंदरो मलयाचलः २७.
Sahyādri, Nīlagiri, Mandara, and Malayācala were present.
एते चान्ये च गिरयः क्षीमंतो हि महाप्रभाः २७.
These and other great mountains, though lean, were exceedingly radiant.
बलिनो रूपिणः सर्वे मेर्वाद्यास्तत्र पर्वताः २७.
All the mountains beginning with Meru, powerful and of various forms, were there.
नंदिना ह्युपविष्टास्ते मेर्वाद्यास्तत्र पर्वताः सर्वैस्तैर्बंधुभिः सार्द्धं पुनरागमनं कृतम्॥ २७.
Those mountains beginning with Meru sat down with Nandin; with all their relatives, they again assembled.
स्वकालयस्थो हिमवान्स रेजे हि महा यशा विख्यातो हि महाशैलस्त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्रुतः॥ २७.
Himavān, remaining in his own place, shone with great fame, renowned as the great mountain in the three worlds.
कन्यादानेन महता तुष्टो यस्य च शंकरः २७.
Śaṃkara was pleased by the great gift of the maiden.
द्व्यक्षरं नाम येषां च जिह्वाग्रे संस्थितं सदा ते वै मनुष्यरूपेण रुद्रा एव न संशयः॥ २७.
Those whose tongues always bear the two-syllabled name are indeed Rudras in human form, without doubt.
किंचिद्दानेन संतुष्टः पत्रेणापि तथैव च २७.
He is satisfied even by a small gift, or even by a leaf offered.
पत्रेण पुष्पेण तथा जलेन प्रीतो भवत्येष सदाशिवो हि २७.
Sadāśiva is pleased by a leaf, a flower, or water offered to him.
एको महाञ्ज्योतिरजः परेशः परापराणां परमो महात्मा २७.
He alone is the supreme light, stainless, the lord of all, the highest among those who are beyond and not beyond, the supreme great soul.
निरंजनो नित्यरूपो निरोधो नित्यानन्दो नित्यमुक्ताः सदेव स्तुतो ध्यातः पूजितश्चिंतितश्च सर्वज्ञोऽसौ सर्वदा सर्वदश्च॥ २७.
He is unstained, eternal in form, cessation itself, ever-blissful, eternally liberated, always praised, meditated upon, worshipped, and contemplated; he is all-knowing, always and everywhere.
यथा वरिष्ठो हिमवान्प्रसिद्धः सर्वैर्गुणैः सर्वगुणो महात्मा २७.
Just as the Himalaya is renowned as the highest, possessing all virtues, the great soul endowed with every quality.
मेनया सह धर्मात्मा यथास्थानगतस्ततः २७.
With Menā, the righteous one remained in his proper place.
गतेषु तेषु हिमवान्पुत्रैः पौत्रैः प्रपौत्रकैः २७.
When Himalaya's sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons departed,
अथो गिरिजया सार्द्धं महेशो गन्धमादने २७.
Then, together with Girijā, Maheśa dwelled on Gandhamādana.
सुरतेनैव महता तपसा हि समागमे २७.
Through great union and austerity, they came together.
अनिष्टं महदाश्चर्यं प्रलयोपममेव च २७.
Something undesirable and wondrous occurred, resembling a dissolution.
सर्वे ब्रह्मादयो देवाः कार्याकार्यव्यवस्थितौ २७.
All the gods, beginning with Brahmā, were situated in matters of duty and non-duty.
सस्मार चाग्निं ब्रह्मा च विष्णुश्चाध्यात्मदायकः २७.
Brahmā remembered Agni, and Viṣṇu, the giver of spiritual knowledge.
ताभ्यां संप्रेषितोऽपश्यद्रुचिरं शिवमांदिरम् २७.
Sent by them, he saw the beautiful abode of Śiva.
अग्निर्ह्रस्वस्तदा भूत्वा काश्मीरसदृशच्छविः २७.
Agni then became small, with a complexion like Kashmir.
अनेकरत्नसंवीतं प्रासादैश्च स्वलं कृतम् २७.
Adorned with many jewels and splendidly built with palaces.
