Seeing that, the noble Menā recognized Hara at that time.
What was previously spoken by Pārvatī in my presence about Maheśa, I now behold as indescribable.
Thus, filled with wonder and surrounded by the wives of the Brahmins,
She wore a most divine robe, adorned with various jewels.
And at that time she wore a necklace decorated with celestial gems.
There, the fortunate lady sat, meditating on the Supreme Lord.
At that moment, Garga spoke these words there: 'Let the wise act quickly, for the time is at hand.'
Hearing the words of that great-souled Garga,
All, endowed with great glory and auspicious hands,
Those with gentle eyes took up many gifts.
All of them came together to the place where the god Maheśvara was.
Likewise, the great sages and the hosts of gods gathered there.
Hearing the sound of musical instruments, all the attendants of Shankara gathered.
Then, accompanied by the circle of Yoginīs, the hosts of Gaṇas, led by their lord of unrivaled splendor, prepared themselves.
That Yoginī circle, exceedingly fierce, resounded with the noise of drums and the clamor of kettledrums.
She wore a serpent, Karkoṭaka, as a necklace, serving as her ornament.
She adorned her ears with earrings made of hands and feet.
Clad in a tiger skin and accompanied by the Yoginī circle, she stood there.
She was surrounded by ghosts, spirits, and pretas in disguise, those whom Shiva had commanded for the destruction of Daksha's sacrifice.
Likewise, Kālī, Bhairavī, and Māyā, all terrifying, were present.
And all the others likewise, having placed Sadāśiva at the forefront.
Seeing all these, Janārdana, devoted to Shiva, with Anasūyā and also Arundhatī at his side—
—said, 'O Lord, appoint Caṇḍī, who is present here, as the protector of the worlds.'
Hearing these words spoken by Viṣṇu, the Lord of the universe—
'Let Caṇḍī remain here until the carrying away is accomplished.'
Thus, hearing the words of Śaṃbhu, of immeasurable brilliance—
Then all the other Pramathas, enraged, spoke to Viṣṇu.
'Why have you restrained us at this critical moment?'
'Pointing to Caṇḍī and the other Pramathas of similar kind—'
Thus addressed by him, the chief Gaṇas, headed by Caṇḍī, at that time—
