All the demons remained seated, while the gods received the nectar's essence again, and the demons were afflicted.
Then, seeing those demons in such a state, having fallen under delusion,
Assuming the form of the gods, eager for the nectar,
When Rahu, exceedingly difficult to overcome, desired to drink the nectar,
Then Rahu's head, of fierce form, was severed; as it wandered, it crushed the mountains.
And at that time, all the worlds with their mountains were crushed.
Seeing this, the great god stood above it.
That affliction nearby is called by the name 'Nivasa.'
Because of the great abode, whose lotus feet are revered,
Ketu, of smoky form, vanished into the sky.
Vasudeva, the source of the universe, is the supreme cause of all worlds.
He was born, by divine reversal, for the destruction of the demons.
Together, all of them churned the ocean of milk at the same time.
Then, those best of gods were enraged, and the demons, deluded by illusion, were again bewildered.
Then, roaring, they hurled themselves at the gods in battle.
At that time, the great-souled Virocana, mounting his celestial vehicle, advanced with all his forces.
They assumed their own forms and gathered together by the thousands.
Some mounted horses, others elephants, and yet others different beasts.
Others rode peacocks, royal swans, and also roosters.
Others mounted elephants, donkeys, and also carts.
Armed with iron clubs, holding nooses, spears, and maces in their hands.
Others mounted horses, elephants, and chariots, ready to strike.
Competing with one another, they roared again and again.
O mighty-armed one, you engaged in battle with Indra.
Even with a weak or insignificant enemy, in any way,
One should never trust a former adversary; we have been defeated, but now you possess the strength.
Thus spoke those difficult to subdue, who stood ready, eager to fight.
With yak-tail fans, all directions were obscured, and the battlefield was hidden.
Having drunk nectar, the blessed ones mounted their vehicles, adorned; the sun rode the high Śrava, and the moon mounted a deer.
Clad with umbrellas and yak-tail fans, they shone with the glory of victory.
