As long as Sadāśiva, accompanied by Gaṇeśa, was speaking,
She, who is the source of the universe in the form of Śiva, embodies both cause and effect.
The supreme power, characterized by the knowledge of Brahman, alone abides.
All this world, moving and unmoving, is contained within Prakṛti.
The blessed Gaṇeśa was directly born from Prakṛti.
There was a battle between him, the great-souled one, and Śiva.
Then, seeing the invincibility of the one mounted on the elephant,
At that time, the great god, the scorcher of foes, was praised by the supreme power.
Then the great god was granted a supreme boon.
This deluded one, born from a portion of Prakṛti, does not know you.
The blessed Rudra, laughing, revived the son of Māyā.
Then, by the grace of Śaṃkara, the one with the elephant head was born.
Ever content and free from affliction, by the nectar of self-knowledge alone.
Having uprooted his own great tooth for the purpose of the yogic staff, he was adorned in unity with both prosperity and accomplishment.
Those Gaṇas and obstacles, and others who are superior on earth,
Therefore, he revealed Prakṛti, the one of universal form, and saw the pure liṅga, naturally abiding in Prakṛti.
He, together with the Gaṇas, as well as the three worlds,
Again became deluded, but with effort regained consciousness.
Then, he saw there the agent of the destruction of the worlds.
He saw forms resembling the dead, and those composed of the essence of the liṅga and śakti.
They merge and dissolve into Maheśa, who is of the form of the liṅga.
At that time, the liṅga was concealed by śakti, and nothing at all could be seen.
The entire world, both moving and unmoving, was sheltered by the two—Śiva and Śakti.
Then, the highly radiant chief of the gaṇas spoke, together with his attendants.
I bow to the god, endowed with śakti, whose nature is knowledge, serene, who is beyond knowledge, and whose form is the supreme light.
The fire, which is beyond smoke, appears as smoky; you are hidden within nature, and are called the unmanifest by māyā.
O Lord, in this way, by your own māyā, you create, dissolve, and protect the universe.
Just as before, O Lord Maheśa, you are the master of the three worlds, the soul of all that moves and does not move.
Thus praised by Gaṇeśa, the Lord, the creator of beings, was honored.
Then, in the form of the liṅga, he absorbed that pure essence; in that moment, he protected all, filled with supreme compassion.
