मायाविरहितं शांतं द्वैताद्वैतपरं सदा १०.
That which is devoid of illusion, peaceful, always transcending duality and non-duality,
यदि त्वं केवलो ह्यात्मा परमानन्दलक्षणः १०.
If you are indeed the pure Self, characterized by supreme bliss,
नानारूपं कथं जातं सुरासुरविलक्षणम् १०.
How then has the manifold form arisen, distinct from gods and demons?
भूतग्रामैश्चतुर्भिश्च नानाभेदैः समन्वितैः १०.
With the four groups of beings, endowed with various distinctions,
परस्परविरोधेन ज्ञानवादेन मोहिताः १०.
Through mutual opposition and debate about knowledge, they are deluded.
ज्ञाननिष्ठाश्च ये केचित्परस्परविरोधिनः १०.
And those who are established in knowledge, yet mutually opposed,
अहं गणश्च कुत्रत्याः क्व चायं वृषभः प्रभो १०.
Where am I, where is the group, and where is this bull, O Lord?
कृताः सर्वे महाभागाः सात्त्विका राजसाश्च वै १०.
All have been created, O greatly fortunate ones, both those of sattva and rajas.
कालशक्त्या च जातानि रजःसत्त्वतमांसि च १०.
By the power of time, have arisen the qualities of rajas, sattva, and tamas.
परिदृश्यमानमेतच्चानश्वरं परमार्थतः १०.
This which is seen is impermanent, but in the highest truth it is not so.
यावद्गणेशसंयुक्तो भाषमाणः सदाशिवः १०.
As long as Sadāśiva, accompanied by Gaṇeśa, was speaking,
शिवरूपा जगद्योनिः कार्यकारणरूपिणी १०.
She, who is the source of the universe in the form of Śiva, embodies both cause and effect.
एका स्थिता परा शक्तिर्ब्रह्मविद्यात्मलक्षणा १०.
The supreme power, characterized by the knowledge of Brahman, alone abides.
प्रकृत्यन्तर्गतं सर्वं जगदेतच्चराचरम् १०.
All this world, moving and unmoving, is contained within Prakṛti.
साक्षात्प्रकृत्याः संभूतो गणेशो भगवानभूत् १०.
The blessed Gaṇeśa was directly born from Prakṛti.
शिवेन सह संग्रामो ह्यभूत्तस्य महात्मनः १०.
There was a battle between him, the great-souled one, and Śiva.
तस्य दृष्ट्वा ह्यजेयत्वं गजारूढस्य तत्तदा १०.
Then, seeing the invincibility of the one mounted on the elephant,
तदा स्तुतो महादेवः परशक्त्या परंतपः १०.
At that time, the great god, the scorcher of foes, was praised by the supreme power.
तदा वृतो महादेवो वरेण परमेण हि १०.
Then the great god was granted a supreme boon.
त्वां न जानात्ययं मूढः प्रकृत्यंशसमुद्भवः १०.
This deluded one, born from a portion of Prakṛti, does not know you.
प्रहस्य भगवान्रुद्रो मायापुत्रमजीवयत् १०.
The blessed Rudra, laughing, revived the son of Māyā.
तदा गजाननो जातः प्रसादाच्छंकरस्य च १०.
Then, by the grace of Śaṃkara, the one with the elephant head was born.
आत्मज्ञानामृतेनैव नित्यतृप्तो निरामयः १०.
Ever content and free from affliction, by the nectar of self-knowledge alone.
योगदंडार्थमुत्पाट्य स्वकीयं दशनं महत् ऋद्धिसिद्धिद्वयेनैव एकत्वेन विराजितः॥ १०.
Having uprooted his own great tooth for the purpose of the yogic staff, he was adorned in unity with both prosperity and accomplishment.
ये ते गणाश्च विघ्नाश्च ये चान्येऽभ्यधिका भुवि १०.
Those Gaṇas and obstacles, and others who are superior on earth,
तस्माद्वि लोकयामास प्रकृतिं विश्वरूपिणीम् ददर्श विमलं लिंगं प्रकृतिस्थं स्वभावतः॥ १०.
Therefore, he revealed Prakṛti, the one of universal form, and saw the pure liṅga, naturally abiding in Prakṛti.
आत्मानं च गणैः साद्धं तथैव च जगत्त्रयम् १०.
He, together with the Gaṇas, as well as the three worlds,
मुमोह च पुनः संज्ञां प्रतिलभ्य प्रयत्नतः १०.
Again became deluded, but with effort regained consciousness.
तदा ददर्श तत्रैव लोकसंहारकारकम् १०.
Then, he saw there the agent of the destruction of the worlds.
ददर्श प्रेततुल्यानि लिंगशक्त्यात्मकानि च १०.
He saw forms resembling the dead, and those composed of the essence of the liṅga and śakti.
