दिवोदासस्य वै तीर्थं तत्र राज्ञोऽतिमेधसः
There is also the tīrtha of King Divodāsa, who was exceedingly wise.
ततोपि हि महातीर्थं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्
Beyond that is indeed a great tīrtha, the destroyer of all sins.
स्नात्वा भागीरथी तीर्थे कृत्वा श्राद्धं विधानवित् 4.2.83.
By bathing at the Bhāgīrathī tīrtha and performing śrāddha according to the proper rites—
हरपापं च भो वीर तीर्थं भागीरथीतटे
O hero, there is also the Harapāpa tīrtha on the bank of the Bhāgīrathī.
यो निष्पापेश्वरं लिंगं तत्र पश्यति मानवः
Whoever sees the sinless Lord’s liṅga there, that person—
दशाश्वमेधतीर्थं च ततोपि प्रवरं मतम् ।। दशानामश्वमेधानां यत्र स्नात्वा फलं लभेत्
Then comes the Daśāśvamedha tīrtha, considered the best; by bathing there, one obtains the fruit of ten Aśvamedha sacrifices.
ततोपि शुभदं वीर बंदीतीर्थं प्रचक्षते
Beyond that, O hero, is the Bandī tīrtha, said to be auspicious.
हिरण्याक्षेण दैत्येन बहुशो देवताः पुरा
Long ago, the deities were repeatedly bound by the demon Hiraṇyākṣa.
ततो विशृंखलीभूतैर्वंदिता यज्जगज्जनिः
Then, when they were set free, the origin of the world was praised.
बंदीतीर्थस्तु तत्रैव महानिगडखंडनम्
There itself is the Bandī tīrtha, the great place where the shackles were broken.
बंदीतीर्थं महाश्रेष्ठं काशिपुर्यां विशांपते
The Bandī tīrtha, most excellent, is in Kāśī city, O lord of men.
ततोपि हि श्रेष्ठतरं प्रयागमिति विश्रुतम्
Beyond that is the even more excellent Prayāga, renowned everywhere.
क्षोणीवराहतीर्थं च ततोपि शुभदं परम् 4.2.83.
Then comes the Kṣoṇīvarāha tīrtha, which is supremely auspicious.
ततः कालेश्वरं तीर्थं वीरश्रेष्ठतरं परम्
After that is the Kāleśvara tīrtha, O best of heroes, the most excellent of all.
अशोकतीर्थं तत्रैव ततोप्यतितरां शुभम्
There itself is the Ashoka Tirtha, which is even more auspicious.
ततोति निर्मलतरं शुक्रतीर्थं नृपांगज
Beyond that, O prince, is the Shukra Tirtha, exceedingly pure.
ततोऽपि पुण्यदं राजन्भवानीतीर्थमुत्तमम्
Beyond that, O king, is the supreme Bhavani Tirtha, bestower of merit.
प्रभासतीर्थं विख्यातं ततोपि शुभदं नृणाम्
Then comes the renowned Prabhasa Tirtha, which also brings good fortune to people.
ततो गरुडतीर्थं च संसारविषनाशनम्
After that is the Garuda Tirtha, which destroys the poison of worldly existence.
ब्रह्मतीर्थं ततः पुण्यं वीरब्रह्मेश्वरात्पुरः
Then comes the sacred Brahma Tirtha, situated before the temple of Virabrahmeshwara.
ततो वृद्धार्कतीर्थं च विधितीर्थं ततः परम्
After that is the Vriddharka Tirtha, and then the excellent Vidhi Tirtha.
ततो नृसिंहतीर्थं च महाभयनिवारणम्
Then is the Narasimha Tirtha, which removes great fear.
ततोपि पुण्यदं नृणां तीर्थं चित्ररथेश्वरम् 4.2.83.१ ०
Beyond that is the Citraratheśvara Tirtha, which also bestows merit upon people.
तत्राल्पमपि यच्छेद्यत्कल्पांतेप्यक्षयं हि तत् 4.2.83.
Whatever little is offered there remains imperishable even at the end of an aeon.
अप्येकं यो महारुद्रं जपेद्वीरेश सन्निधौ 4.2.83.
Even one who recites the Mahārudra hymn once in the presence of Vīreśa—
इति श्रुत्वा महेशानो महीप तनयोदितम्
Having heard thus, O king, the great lord listened to what the prince had said.
आकर्णय क्षोणिसुर यथा स्थाणुरचीकरत्
Hear now, O lord of the earth, how Sthāṇu performed his acts.
संगमे तत्र निष्णातः संगमेशं समर्च्य च
There, having bathed at the confluence and worshipped Saṃgameśa—
तत्र पादोदकं तीर्थं यत्र देवेन शार्ङ्गिणा
There is the Tirtha of the washing of the feet, where the god with the bow bathed.
विप्णुपादोदके तीर्थे वारिकार्यं करोति यः
Whoever performs water rites at the Tirtha of Vishnu's foot-washing—
