शिवोक्तं च समाकर्ण्य वरदानं पुनःपुनः
Having listened again and again to Shiva's granting of boons—
तदत्र भवता स्थेयं भवतापहृता सदा
Therefore, you must remain here, always removing suffering.
अस्मिँल्लिंगे स्थितः शंभो कुरु भक्तसमीहितम् 4.2.83.
Abide in this linga, O Shambhu, and fulfill the wishes of the devotees.
दिश सिद्धिं परामत्र दर्शनात्स्पर्शनान्नतेः
Grant supreme accomplishment here, through sight, touch, and reverence.
सदैवानुग्रहस्तेषु कर्तव्यो वर एष मे
This boon of mine is that you must always bestow favor upon them.
एवमस्तु यदुक्तं ते वीरवैष्णव सूनुना
So be it, as spoken by you, O son of the heroic Vaishnavas.
विष्ण्वंश एवमुत्पन्नो मम भक्तिपरांगज
Born in the lineage of Vishnu, you are devoted to me above all.
काश्यां दास्यत्यभीष्टानि भक्तानां चिंतितान्यहो
In Kashi, he will grant the cherished desires of the devotees, whatever they contemplate—ah!
दास्यामि च परां सिद्धिमाश्रितेभ्यो न संशयः
I will grant supreme attainment to those who take refuge; there is no doubt.
यस्तु वेत्स्यति भाग्येन स परां सिद्धिमाप्स्यति
He who knows by fortune will obtain the highest accomplishment.
जीर्णोद्धारादिकरणमक्षय्यफलहेतुकम्
Restoration of what is old brings inexhaustible rewards as its cause.
भुक्त्वा भोगांश्च विपुलानंते सिद्धिमवाप्स्यसि
After enjoying abundant pleasures, you will ultimately attain perfection.
पुण्यस्तत्रापि संभेदः सरितोरसि गंगयोः 4.2.83.
There, too, is the sacred confluence in the bosom of the rivers Ganga.
यत्र विष्णुर्हयग्रीवो भक्तचिंतितमर्पयेत्
Where Vishnu as Hayagriva offers what is desired by the devotee.
यत्र वै स्नानमात्रेण गजदानफलं लभेत्
Where, merely by bathing, one obtains the merit of giving an elephant.
कोकावराहमभ्यर्च्य तत्र नो जन्मभाग्जनः
Having worshipped Kokavara, there, a person is not born again.
दिलीपतीर्थं सुश्रेष्ठं सद्यः पापहरं परम्
Dilipa's holy place is most excellent, instantly removing sin to the highest degree.
यत्र मज्जन्नरो मज्जेन्न भूयो दुःखसागरे
Where a man who immerses himself does not again sink into the ocean of sorrow.
सप्ताब्धिस्नानजं पुण्यं यत्र स्नात्वा नरो लभेत्
Where, by bathing, a person obtains the merit of bathing in the seven seas.
सकृद्यत्राप्लुतो धीमान्दहेदघमहोदधिम्
Where, by plunging just once, a wise man burns up the great ocean of sin.
पापं सुवर्णचौर्यादि यत्र स्नात्वा क्षयं व्रजेत्
Where, by bathing, sin such as gold theft and others is destroyed.
हंस स्वरूपी यत्राहं नयामि ब्रह्मदेहिनः
Where, in the form of a swan, I lead those with bodies of Brahma.
ततस्त्रिभुवनाख्यस्य केशवस्याति पुण्यदम् 4.2.83.
Then comes the holy place of Kesava, called Tribhuvana, which bestows great merit.
गोव्याघ्रे श्वर तीर्थं च ततोप्यधिकमेव हि
The holy place of Govyaghreshvara is even greater than that.
ततोपि हि वरं वीर तीर्थं मांधातुसंज्ञितम्
Greater still, O hero, is the holy place called Mandhata.
ततोपि मुचुकुंदाख्यं तीर्थं चातीव पुण्यदम्
Greater yet is the holy place named Mucukunda, which is exceedingly meritorious.
पृथु तीर्थं ततोप्युच्चैः श्रेयसां साधनं परम्
The Pṛthu Tīrtha is, beyond that, the supreme means for attaining the highest good.
ततः परशुरामस्य तीर्थं चातीव सिद्धिदम् ।। यत्र क्षत्रवधात्पापाज्जामदग्न्यो विमुक्तवान्
Then comes the tīrtha of Paraśurāma, which greatly bestows success; there, Jāmadagnya was freed from the sin of killing kṣatriyas.
अद्यापि क्षत्रवधजं पापं तत्र प्रणश्यति
Even today, at that place, the sin arising from the slaying of kṣatriyas is destroyed.
ततोपि श्रेयसां कर्तृ तीर्थं कृष्णाग्रजस्य हि
Beyond that is the tīrtha of Kṛṣṇa’s elder brother, the foremost among those who perform virtuous deeds.
