धुवं काश्यां प्रविष्टा ये ते प्रविष्टा ममोदरे
Those who entered Kāśī have entered into my womb.
येषां हि संस्थितिः काश्यां लिंगार्चनरतात्मनाम्
Those whose existence is in Kāśī, devoted to worshipping the liṅga,
स्थावरा जंगमाः काश्यामचेतनसचेतनाः
Immovable and movable beings in Kāśī, both unconscious and conscious,
वाचि वाराणसी येषां श्रुतौ वैश्वेश्वरी कथा
For whom the tale of Vaiśveśvarī is heard in the speech of Vārāṇasī,
वाराणसीति काशीति रुद्रावास इति स्फुटम्
Vārāṇasī is Kāśī, it is clearly the abode of Rudra.
आनंदकाननं प्राप्य ये निरानंदभूमिकाम्
Those who reach the forest of bliss, having come from the realm devoid of joy,
अद्यैव वास्तुमरणं बहुकालांतरेपि वा
Whether today or after many ages, dwelling or dying,
अवश्यंभाविनो भावा भविष्यंति पदेपदे 4.2.55.
Events destined to occur will certainly happen at every step.
वरं विघ्नसहस्राणि सोढव्यानि पदेपदे
It is better to endure thousands of obstacles at every step.
कियन्निमेषसंभोग्याः संति लक्ष्म्याः पदेपदे
How much enjoyment of fortune is there, momentary, at every step?
विश्वनाथो ह्यहं नाथः काशिकामुक्तिकाशिका
I am Viśvanātha, indeed the lord, Kāśī is the liberation of Kāśī.
पंचक्रोश्यापरिमिता तनुरेषा पुरी मम
This city of mine, immeasurable in five krośas, is my body.
संसारभारखिन्नानां यातायातकृतां सदा
For those weary from the burdens of worldly existence, always caught in the cycle of coming and going,
मंडपः कल्पवल्लीनां मनोरथफलैरलम्
there is a pavilion of wish-fulfilling vines, abundant with the fruits of their desires.
चक्रवर्तेरियं छत्रं विचित्रं सर्वतापहृत्
This wondrous umbrella of the universal monarch removes all suffering.
निर्वाणलक्ष्मीं ये पुण्याः परिवांछंति लीलया
Those virtuous ones who effortlessly desire the fortune of liberation,
ममानंदवने ये वै निरं तर वनौकसः
those who dwell in my blissful grove, untouched by sorrow,
निर्ममं चापि निर्मोहं या मामपि विमोहयेत् ।। 4.2.55.
are free from possessiveness and delusion, and even cause me to become free from delusion.
नामापि मधुरं यस्याः परानंदप्रकाशकम्
Even the name of that which reveals supreme bliss is sweet.
काशीनामसुधापानं ये कुर्वंति निरंतरम्
Those who constantly partake of the nectar of Kashi's name,
ममतारहितस्यापि मम सर्वात्मनो ध्रुवम्
even without attachment, are certainly mine in every way.
रहस्यमिति विज्ञाय वाराणस्या गणेश्वरैः
Understanding this as a secret, the lords of Ganesha in Varanasi,
अन्यथा ताश्च योगिन्यः सरविः सपितामहः
otherwise, those yoginis together with the lakes and the ancestors,
अतीव भद्रं संजातं काश्यां तिष्ठत्सु तेषु हि
great auspiciousness arises indeed for those who dwell in Kashi.
लब्धप्रवेशास्तावंतस्ते सर्वे मत्स्वरूपिणः
All those who have gained entry there become my own forms.
अन्यानपि प्रेषयामि मत्पार्श्वपरिवर्तिनः
I send others also, who revolve around my side.
विचार्येति महादेवः समाहूय गजाननम्
Thus, Mahadeva, having summoned Gajanan, deliberated.
तत्रस्थितोपि संसिद्धयै यतस्व सहितो गणैः 4.2.55.
Even while remaining there, strive for perfection together with the hosts.
आधाय शासनं मूर्ध्नि गणाधीशोथ धूर्जटेः
The lord of the hosts, having placed Dhurjati's command upon his head,
महाशाखविशाखाभ्यां नंदिभृंगिपुरोगमः
Accompanied by Nandi and Bhringi at the forefront, with great and splendid branches,
