The nectar-like essence of the name, beloved of the lotus-eyed one, is profound.
श्रीमुकुंद पदद्वंद्व पद्मामोदप्रमोदितम्
The twin feet of Śrī Mukunda are gladdened by the fragrance of the lotus.
त्वगिंद्रियं मधुरिपोः परिस्पृश्य पदद्वयम् 4.1.20.
The sense of touch, approaching the two feet of the enemy of Mura, perceives them.
शब्दादिविषयाधारं सारं दामोदरं परम्

लुप्तानि सर्वतेजांसि तत्तपस्तपनोदये

इंद्र चंद्राग्नि वरुण समीरण धनाधिपाः
Indra, Chandra, Agni, Varuṇa, Vāyu, and the lord of wealth,
वैमानिकास्तथाऽन्येपि वसुमुख्या दिवौकसः
The celestial beings who travel by air, and other foremost Vasus among the gods,
यत्र यत्र ध्रुवः पादं मिनोति पृथिवीतले
Wherever Dhruva sets his foot upon the earth,
अहो तदंगसंगीनि त्यक्त्वा जाड्यं जलान्यपि
Ah, those who are joined to his limbs, abandoning inertia, even the waters,
यावंति विष्वक्तेजांसि सिद्धरूपगुणानि च
All the radiances scattered throughout, and the perfected qualities and forms,
अहो निजगुणस्पर्शः सततं मातरिश्वना
Indeed, the touch of his own qualities is ever present with the wind.
व्योम्नापि शब्दगुणिना ध्रुवाराधनबुद्धिना
Even through the sky, endowed with the quality of sound, by the mind intent on worshipping Dhruva,
आराधितोऽनुदिवसं सभूतैरपि पंचभिः 4.1.20.
He is worshipped day after day, even by all five elements.
कौस्तुभोद्भासितहृदः पीतकौशेयवाससः
His heart shone with the radiance of the Kaustubha gem, and he was clothed in yellow silk garments.
मरुत्वतातिमहती चिंताऽप्ता तत्तपोभयात्

तं व्याघ्रवदनः कश्चिद्व्यादाय विकटाननम्

रयात्तु मांसकं भुंजन्कश्चिद्विकटदंष्ट्रकः

कश्चिद्धि पन्नगी भूय फटाटोपभयानकः

कश्चिच्च महिषाकारः क्षिपञ्शृंगाग्रतो गिरोन्
Another, in the form of a buffalo, hurling rocks with the tips of his horns.
कश्चिद्दावानलालीढ खर्जूरद्रुमसन्निभम्
Another, licked by a blazing forest fire, resembling a date-palm tree.
मौलिजैरभ्रसंघर्षं कुर्वन्दीर्घकृशोदरः
Long and thin-bellied, making clouds clash with his hair-tufts.
कृपाणपाणिर्भग्नास्यो वामहस्तकपालधृत्
Holding a sword in his hand, his mouth broken, bearing a skull in his left hand.
विशाल सालमादाय कुर्वन्किल किलारवम्
