Immortality, perfection, mastery of essences, and bliss,
Lordship, control, good fortune, and the deception of time,
By granting all limbs and destroying all diseases,
Thus, granting boons, the god Shiva, lord of Aruna Mountain,
Be gracious, O Lord of Shona Mountain, full of compassion.
Whenever I take refuge in you, skilled in protecting the world,
Your great and wondrous form cannot be worshipped by those with little merit.
With circumambulations, salutations, dances, songs, and worships,
By means of fasting, vows, sacrificial sessions, offerings, and worship,
as well as by establishing gardens, pavilions, and wells purified according to prescribed rites,
performing circumambulation with one's body, endowed with lost prosperity,
even in birth after birth, never abandoning your lotus feet,
Thus saying, 'So be it,' the moon-crested one granted the boon to Viṣṇu.
This fiery liṅga is indeed the sole cause of all the worlds.
At the end of the age, when the four oceans are agitated,
filling the three worlds with torrents as large as elephants,
when the dissolution of beings has begun, and nature returns to its original state,
and when I have summoned them again after the interval of dissolution,
of all forms of knowledge, arts, and the wealth of scriptures,
which, dwelling in caves and mountain hollows, the sages of renowned vows
with mantras composed of the five Brahmas, bearing the form of the five-syllabled (mantra),
and always with eight liṅgas, worshipped by the guardians of the eight directions,
where the perfected beings, as well as the lords of the gods, having left their own worlds,
thus is the accumulation of the ripened merit of the earth.
with hosts of gods who have come from the peak of Kailāsa and from Meru,
Thus, having heard that (account) of the lotus-born, from the mouth of the lotus-seated one, Sanaka, his mind rejoicing, with devotion—
Sanaka said: O Lord, master of Aruṇādri, this greatness is truly wondrous.
This glory is astonishing and destroys all sins.
Śiva, without beginning or end, has taken the form of the red mountain.
By uttering even once the name 'Śoṇādri,' which grants liberation,
