By merely beholding him, supreme accomplishment arises.
Once, Saṃjñā, unable to endure the unbearable radiance of the Sun,
Then, taking the form of a mare, she went to the northern Kurus.
She went before him, intent on protecting her hind part.
Nāsaṭya and Dasra, twin sons, emerged with horse-like faces.
Mounted on a horse, bearing bow and arrows, he arose; and this world, with gods, demons, and humans, was conquered.
Then the gods, having been defeated, sought refuge with Brahmā.
Our power and radiance have been destroyed by the son of the Sun.
From his body, fire arose and rushed forth, subduing Time.
Everything became agitated, filled with cries of distress and unconsciousness.
In all ten directions, this blazing fire spread forth abundantly.
Hearing their words, Brahmā spoke, O beautiful-faced one.
And the desired thing will indeed come to pass, O best of gods.
Having heard the words of Brahma, you have approached me.
By the son of Aditya, by Revanta, O Maheshvara, with great brilliance, valor, and strength,
He is truly unconquerable for all of us, O most excellent among gods.
We all, afflicted by fear and seeking refuge, surrender to you.
When remembered by me, the son of Surya, Revanta, appeared instantly, dear one.
O god, what should I do? Tell me everything in full.
Out of affection, he was kissed on the head and embraced again and again.
I am completely satisfied with you; obtain whatever you desire.
There is a supreme place on earth that I desire; I will grant you that place, and there your fame will flourish.
Even in former times, the place of Kaṇṭeśvara was extremely difficult to attain.
You will always be worshipped by the gods; there is no doubt.
You will be worthy of worship in all the horse stables.
My radiance will reside in that place, in the eternal form of a liṅga.
Thus addressed by me, O goddess, Revanta, the son of the sun, at that time—
He saw there that liṅga, eternal and in the form of light.
With affection, I said: 'By fortune, you are seen, O son of the sun.'
O son of the sun, you must always remain near me.
