Listen, O seeker, as the sacred regions and holy fields are revealed, each imbued with divine presence and spiritual power. First, the sanctified land of Varanasi is described, purified across five krośas, renowned for its holiness. Wherever the site of Kapālamocana is found, there too abides Kālabhairava, the fierce guardian. Gaya and Prayaga have also been spoken of—both bestowing all attainments upon those who visit with devotion. Kedara is mentioned, where the Lord assumes the form of a buffalo, and Badarikāśrama stands as the field granting all achievements to mankind. The Naimisha region is known, where the great Lord himself resides, and Amaresha is said to fulfill every desire. The illustrious place called Pushkara has been set forth, and the pure abode of the Ashadha goddesses has been described. The sacred site of Dandimundi has been recounted, as well as the sanctified place named Lakula. Bharabhuti, Aralakeshvara, and again the great field of Gaya have all been revealed. The renowned Kurukshetra, Kanakhala, and the mighty Talaka are among the fields declared. Attahasa, Krittivasa, and Mallikarjuna, where the goddess Bhramarambika joins the great Lord, are also described. On the banks of the Suvarnamukharī river, Shankara is known as Kalahasti. In Kanchi, beneath the ancient mango tree, he is Kamakshi’s Kamashasana. There is Vyaghrapura, nestled amidst Tillikanana, and the place called Shvetaranya has been told. Rāghava spoke of Setubandha, and Gatapratyāhvaya is where the Bull-bannered One, Shiva, resides. In the land of Vṛddhācala flows the river sparkling with jewels and pearls. The most excellent Śrīmad-Madhyārjuna has been described, as has Somatīrtha, established by Somanātha. The field Siddhavaṭa, Kamalālaya, and Kaṃkādri, where Hara is present, are all known to you. Droṇapura, illustrious and destined for the end of the Kali age, is spoken of, as is Brahmapura, where Indrajit once dwelled. The field of knowledge, Śrīkoṭikā, is where Induśekhara abides. Gokarṇa is the field where Shiva is ever present, and Tripurāntaka is the land of Triyaṃbaka. Kālāñjana is the field where Kālakaṃdhara dwells, and Priyālavaṇa is where Ambikāpati resides. The sacred field of Prabhāsa is where Khaṇḍenduśekhara shines. Thus, O wise one, these holy places have been revealed to you, each a beacon of divine presence and spiritual attainment.
