गंधं पुष्पादिदीपांश्च पूजाकर्म समाचरेत् पलावरः स्यादालेप एकादशपलोत्तरः
Perform worship with fragrance, flowers, lamps, and other rites; the unguent should weigh one pala, and for smearing, eleven palas more.
सुवर्णरत्नपुष्पाणि शुभानि सुरभीणि च नीलोत्पलाद्युत्पलानि बिल्वपत्राण्यनेकशः
Offer auspicious, fragrant flowers of gold and gems, blue lotuses and other lotuses, and many bilva leaves.
कमलानि च रक्तानि श्वेतान्यपि च शंभवे कृष्णागुरूद्भवो धूपः सकर्पूराज्यगुग्गुलः
Present red and white lotuses to Śaṃbhu; incense made from black aloe, camphor, ghee, and guggul.
कपिलाघृतसंसिद्धा दीपाः कर्पूरवर्तिजाः पञ्चब्रह्मषडंगानि पूज्यान्यावरणानि च
Lamps prepared with Kapila ghee and camphor wicks; worship the five Brahmas, the six limbs, and the coverings.
नैवेद्यः पयसा सिद्धः स गुडाज्यो महाचरुः पाटलोत्पलपद्माद्यैः पानीयं च सुगन्धितम्
The food offering, prepared with milk, along with jaggery and clarified butter, is a great oblation; water perfumed with pāṭala, lotus, and other flowers should also be offered.
पञ्चसौगंधिकोपेतं तांबूलं च सुसंस्कृतम् सुवर्णरत्नसिद्धानि भूषणानि विशेषतः
Betel, well prepared and endowed with five kinds of fragrance, and ornaments made of gold and jewels, especially, should be presented.
वासांसि च विचित्राणि सूक्ष्माणि च नवानि च दर्शनीयानि देयानि गानवाद्यादिभिस्सह
Garments, varied, fine, new, and pleasing to the eye, should be given, together with singing, instrumental music, and the like.
जपश्च मूलमंत्रस्य लक्षः परमसंख्यया एकावरा त्र्युत्तरा च पूजा फलवशादिह
The recitation of the root mantra should be performed one hundred thousand times as the highest number, once, or three times more, according to the fruit desired from the worship here.
दशसंख्यावरो होमः प्रतिद्रव्यं शतोत्तरः घोररूपश्शिवश्चिंत्यो मारणोच्चाटनादिषु
The homa should be performed with one-tenth of that number, and for each material, one hundred and one; the fierce form of Shiva should be contemplated in rites such as destruction and expulsion.
शिवलिंगे शिवाग्नौ च ह्यन्यासु प्रतिमासु च चिंत्यस्सौम्यतनुश्शंभुः कार्ये शांतिकपौष्टिके
In the Shiva-liṅga, in the fire of Shiva, and in other images, the gentle-bodied Śaṃbhu should be contemplated in rites for peace and nourishment.
आयसौ स्रुक्स्रुवौ कार्यौ मारणादिषु कर्मसु तदन्यत्र तु सौवर्णौ शांतिकाद्येषु कृत्स्नशः
The ladle and spoon should be made of iron for rites such as destruction; otherwise, they should be of gold, entirely so for rites of peace and prosperity.
दूर्वया घृतगोक्षीरमिश्रया मधुना तथा चरुणा सघृतेनैव केवलं पयसापि वा
With dūrvā grass, clarified butter, cow’s milk, honey, and with oblation mixed with ghee, or even with pure milk alone, one should make the offering.
जुहुयान्मृत्युविजये तिलै रोगोपशांतये घृतेन पयसा चैव कमलैर्वाथ केवलैः
For victory over death, one should offer sesame seeds; for the pacification of disease, with ghee and milk, or with lotuses or even with them alone.
समृद्धिकामो जुहुयान्महादारिद्र्यशांतये जातीपुष्पेण वश्यार्थी जुहुयात्सघृतेन तु
One desiring prosperity should offer for the pacification of great poverty; one seeking control should offer with jātī flowers and ghee.
घृतेन करवीरैश्च कुर्यादाकर्षणं द्विजः तैलेनोच्चाटनं कुर्यात्स्तंभनं मधुना पुनः
With ghee and karavīra flowers, a twice-born should perform attraction; with oil, expulsion; with honey, immobilization.
स्तंभनं सर्षपेणापि लशुनेन तु पातनम् ताडनं रुधिरेण स्यात्खरस्योष्ट्रस्य चोभयोः
Immobilization may also be done with mustard seeds, and overthrow with garlic; striking is accomplished with the blood of a donkey or a camel, or with both.
मारणोच्चाटने कुर्याद्रोहिबीजैस्तिलान्वितैः विद्वेषणं च तैलेन कुर्याल्लांगलकस्य तु
For destruction and expulsion, one should use rohī seeds mixed with sesame; for enmity, oil should be used, and for the plough, likewise.
बंधनं रोहिबीजेन सेनास्तंभनमेव च रक्तसर्षपसंमिश्रैर्होमद्रव्यैरशेषतः
Binding and immobilizing armies are accomplished with rohī seeds, and with oblation materials thoroughly mixed with red mustard seeds.
हस्तयंत्रोद्भवैस्तैलैर्जुहुयादाभिचारिके कटुकीतुषसंयुक्तैः कार्पासास्थिभिरेव च
For malevolent rites, one should offer with oils derived from mechanical devices, mixed with bitter pulses and cotton seeds or bones.
सर्षपैस्तैलसंमिश्रैर्जुहुयादाभिचारिके ज्वरोपशांतिदं क्षीरं सौभाग्यफलदं तथा
For malevolent rites, one should offer with mustard seeds mixed with oil; milk is used to pacify fever and bestow good fortune.
सर्वसिद्धिकरो होमः क्षौद्राज्यदधिभिर्युतैः क्षीरेण तंदुलैश्चैव चरुणा केवलेन वा
The homa that grants all accomplishments is performed with honey, ghee, and curds, with milk and rice, or even with pure oblation.
शांतिकं पौष्टिकं वापि सप्तभिः समिदादिभिः द्रव्यैर्विशेषतो होमे वश्यमाकर्षणं तथा
For rites of peace or nourishment, seven kinds of fuel and other materials should be used especially in the homa, as well as for subjugation and attraction.
वश्यमाकर्षणं चैव श्रीपदं च विशेषतः बिल्वपत्रैस्तु हवनं शत्रोर्विजयदं तथा
Oblations with bilva leaves especially grant mastery, attraction, and prosperity, and likewise bring victory over enemies.
समिधः शांतिकार्येषु पालाशखदिरादिकाः करवीरार्कजाः क्रौर्ये कण्टकिन्यश्च विग्रहे
For rites of pacification, use fuel from palāśa, khadira, and similar woods; for cruel purposes, use oleander, arka, and thorny woods in conflict.
प्रशांतः शांतिकं कुर्यात्पौष्टिकं च विशेषतः निर्घृणः क्रुद्धचित्तस्तु प्रकुर्यादाभिचारिकम्
A calm person should perform rites for peace and especially for nourishment; but one who is merciless and angry in mind should perform malevolent rites.
अतीवदुरवस्थायां प्रतीकारांतरं न चेत् आततायिनमुद्दिश्य प्रकुर्यादाभिचारिकम्
If there is no other remedy in an extremely dire situation, one may perform a malevolent rite directed at an aggressor.
स्वराष्ट्रपतिमुद्दिश्य न कुर्यादाभिचारिकम् यद्यास्तिकस्सुधर्मिष्ठो मान्यो वा यो ऽपि कोपि वा
One should not perform malevolent rites against the ruler of one's own land, nor against anyone who is faithful, righteous, or worthy of respect, whoever they may be.
तमुद्दिश्यापि नो कुर्यादाततायिनमप्युत मनसा कर्मणा वाचा यो ऽपि कोपि शिवाश्रितः
Nor should one perform such rites even against an aggressor, if that person is devoted to Shiva, whether in thought, deed, or word, whoever they may be.
स्वराष्ट्रपतिमुद्दिश्य शिवा श्रितमथापि वा कृत्वाभिचारिकं कर्म सद्यो विनिपतेन्नरः
If one performs a malevolent rite against the ruler of one's land or even against someone devoted to Shiva, that person will immediately fall.
स्वराष्ट्रपालकं तस्माच्छिवभक्तं च कञ्चन न हिंस्यादभिचाराद्यैर्यदीच्छेत्सुखमात्मनः
Therefore, one should not harm the ruler of one's land or any devotee of Shiva by malevolent means, if one desires happiness for oneself.
