भैरवाद्याश्च ये चान्ये समंतात्तस्य वेष्टिताः ते ऽपि मामनुगृह्णंतु शिवशासनगौरवात्
And those others, beginning with Bhairava, who surround him on all sides—may they also favor me out of reverence for the command of Śiva.
नारदाद्याश्च मुनयो दिव्या देवैश्च पूजिताः साध्या मागाश्च ये देवा जनलोकनिवासिनः
And the sages beginning with Nārada, divine and worshipped by the gods, and the Sādhyas, Māgās, and those gods who dwell among men—
विनिवृत्ताधिकाराश्च महर्लोकनिवासिनः सप्तर्षयस्तथान्ये वै वैमानिकगुणैस्सह
The inhabitants of Maharloka, whose authority has ceased, the seven sages and others as well, together with their celestial qualities—
सर्वे शिवार्चनरताः शिवाज्ञावशवर्तिनः
All are devoted to the worship of Shiva, acting under the command of Shiva.
गंधर्वाद्याः पिशाचांताश्चतस्रो देवयोनयः सिद्धा विद्याधराद्याश्च ये ऽपि चान्ये नभश्चराः
Gandharvas and others, up to the Pisacas—these four divine lineages; Siddhas, Vidyadharas, and others, as well as all beings who move in the sky—
असुरा राक्षसाश्चैव पातालतलवासिनः अनंताद्याश्च नागेन्द्रा वैनतेयादयो द्विजाः
Asuras and Rakshasas dwelling in the depths of the underworld, the serpent lords such as Ananta, the bird-gods like Garuda, and other twice-born beings—
कूष्मांडाः प्रेतवेताला ग्रहा भूतगणाः परे डाकिन्यश्चापि योगिन्यः शाकिन्यश्चापि तादृशाः
Kushmandas, Pretas, Vetalas, Grahas, the hosts of Bhutas, and others; as well as Dakinis, Yoginis, and Shakinis of that kind—
क्षेत्रारामगृहादीनि तीर्थान्यायतनानि च द्वीपाः समुद्रा नद्यश्च नदाश्चान्ये सरांसि च
Fields, groves, houses, and the like; sacred fords and shrines; islands, oceans, rivers, other streams, and lakes—
गिरयश्च सुमेर्वाद्याः कननानि समंततः पशवः पक्षिणो वृक्षाः कृमिकीटादयो मृगाः
Mountains beginning with Sumeru, forests all around, animals, birds, trees, insects, worms, and other creatures—
भुवनान्यपि सर्वाणि भुवनानामधीश्वरः अण्डान्यावरणैस्सार्धं मासाश्च दश दिग्गजाः
All the worlds, and the lord of the worlds; the cosmic eggs with their coverings; the ten directions and the elephants that guard them—
वर्णाः पदानि मंत्राश्च तत्त्वान्यपि सहाधिपैः ब्रह्मांडधारका रुद्रा रुद्राश्चान्ये सशक्तिकाः
Syllables, words, mantras, and the principles along with their rulers; the Rudras who uphold the cosmic egg, and other Rudras endowed with power—
यच्च किंचिज्जगत्यस्मिन्दृष्टं चानुमितं श्रुतम् सर्वे कामं प्रयच्छन्तु शिवयोरेव शासनात्
Whatever is seen, inferred, or heard in this world—may all grant desires, solely by the command of Shiva.
अथ विद्या परा शैवी पशुपाशविमोचिनी पञ्चार्थसंज्ञिता दिव्या पशुविद्याबहिष्कृता
Now, the supreme Shaiva knowledge, which releases from the bonds of the soul, known as the doctrine of the five meanings, is divine and excludes the knowledge of the bound soul.
शास्त्रं च शिवधर्माख्यं धर्माख्यं च तदुत्तरम् शैवाख्यं शिवधर्माख्यं पुराणं श्रुतिसंमितम्
And the scripture called Shiva-dharma, and the Dharma scripture that follows it; the Shaiva scripture, the Shiva-dharma Purana, which accords with the Veda—
शैवागमाश्च ये चान्ये कामिकाद्याश्चतुर्विधाः शिवाभ्यामविशेषेण सत्कृत्येह समर्चिताः
And the Shaiva Agamas, including the Kamika and the other fourfold divisions, are all duly honored and worshipped here by Shiva and Parvati.
ताभ्यामेव समाज्ञाता ममाभिप्रेतसिद्धये कर्मेदमनुमन्यंतां सफलं साध्वनुष्ठितम्
By these two alone are they authorized, for the accomplishment of my intended purpose; let this act be approved by them, fruitful and rightly performed.
श्वेताद्या नकुलीशांताः सशिष्याश्चापि देशिकाः तत्संततीया गुरवो विशेषाद्गुरवो मम
The teachers beginning with Shvetashvatara and Nakulisha, together with their disciples, and the lineage of their successors—these are especially my teachers.
शैवा माहेश्वराश्चैव ज्ञानकर्मपरायणाः कर्मेदमनुमन्यंतां सफलं साध्वनुष्ठितम्
The Shaivas and Maheśvaras, devoted to knowledge and action, let them approve this act, fruitful and rightly performed.
लौकिका ब्राह्मणास्सर्वे क्षत्रियाश्च विशः क्रमात् वेदवेदांगतत्त्वज्ञाः सर्वशास्त्रविशारदाः
All worldly Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and Vaishyas in order, those who know the Veda and its limbs, and those skilled in all the scriptures—
सांख्या वैशेषिकाश्चैव यौगा नैयायिका नराः सौरा ब्रह्मास्तथा रौद्रा वैष्णवाश्चापरे नराः
The Sāṃkhyas, Vaiśeṣikas, Yogins, Naiyāyikas, men devoted to Sūrya, Brahma, Rudra, and others devoted to Vishnu—
शिष्टाः सर्वे विशिष्टा च शिवशासनयंत्रिताः कर्मेदमनुमन्यंतां ममाभिप्रेतसाधकम्
All the remaining, distinguished and restrained by Shiva's command, should approve this act which fulfills my desired aim.
शैवाः सिद्धांतमार्गस्थाः शैवाः पाशुपतास्तथा शैवा महाव्रतधराः शैवाः कापालिकाः परे
Shaivas who follow the Siddhanta path, Shaivas who are Pashupatas, Shaivas who observe the great vow, and Shaivas who are Kapalikas—these are supreme.
शिवाज्ञापालकाः पूज्या ममापि शिवशासनात् सर्वे ममानुगृह्णंतु शंसंतु सफलक्रियाम्
Those who uphold Shiva's command are worthy of reverence, even by me, due to Shiva's ordinance; may all of them favor me and bless my actions with success.
दक्षिणज्ञाननिष्ठाश्च दक्षिणोत्तरमार्गगाः अविरोधेन वर्तंतां मंत्रश्रेयो ऽर्थिनो मम
Those established in the southern knowledge, those who follow the southern and northern paths, desiring the highest mantra, should proceed without opposition.
नास्तिकाश्च शठाश्चैव कृतघ्नाश्चैव तामसाः पाषंडाश्चातिपापाश्च वर्तंतां दूरतो मम
Let atheists, deceitful ones, the ungrateful, those of tamasic nature, heretics, and the exceedingly sinful remain far from me.
बहुभिः किं स्तुतैरत्र ये ऽपि के ऽपिचिदास्तिकाः सर्वे मामनुगृह्णंतु संतः शंसंतु मंगलम्
What is the use of many praises here? Let all who are even somewhat faithful favor me, and let the virtuous speak auspiciousness for me.
नमश्शिवाय सांबाय ससुतायादिहेतवे पञ्चावरणरूपेण प्रपञ्चेनावृताय ते
Salutations to Shiva, to Sambhu, to him with his son, the primal cause, who, in the form of five coverings, is enveloped by the universe.
इत्युक्त्वा दंडवद्भूमौ प्रणिपत्य शिवं शिवाम् जपेत्पञ्चाक्षरीं विद्यामष्टोत्तरशतावराम्
Having said this, one should bow down flat on the ground to Shiva, and recite the five-syllabled mantra, the knowledge of Shiva, which is of one hundred and eight letters.
तथैव शक्तिविद्यां च जपित्वा तत्समर्पणम् कृत्वा तं क्षमयित्वेशं पूजाशेषं समापयेत्
In the same way, having recited the knowledge of Shakti, and having offered it, and having asked forgiveness from the Lord, one should complete the remaining worship.
एतत्पुण्यतमं स्तोत्रं शिवयोर्हृदयंगमम् सर्वाभीष्टप्रदं साक्षाद्भुक्तिमुक्त्यैकसाधनम्
This most meritorious hymn, which enters the hearts of Shiva and Parvati, grants all desires and is the sole means for both enjoyment and liberation.
