प्रसूतिश्च तथा ऽ ऽकूतिः ख्यातिः सम्भूतिरेव च धृतिः स्मृतिः क्षमा चैव सन्नतिश्चानसूयका
Prasuti, Akuti, Khyati, Sambhuti, Dhriti, Smriti, Kshama, Sannati, and Anasuya—
देवमातारुन्धती च सर्वाः खलु पतिव्रताः शिवार्चनरतो नित्यं श्रीमत्यः प्रियदर्शनाः
Devamata and Arundhati, all of whom are devoted wives, ever engaged in Shiva's worship, illustrious and pleasing in appearance.
प्रथमावरणे वेदांश्चतुरो वा प्रपूजयेत् इतिहासपुराणानि द्वितीयावरणे पुनः
In the first enclosure, one should worship the four Vedas; in the second enclosure, the histories and the Puranas.
तृतीयावरणे पश्चाद्धर्मशास्त्रपुरस्सराः वैदिक्यो निखिला विद्याः पूज्या एव समंततः
In the third enclosure, afterwards, the treatises on dharma, preceded by the Vedic sciences, all branches of knowledge should be worshipped everywhere.
पूर्वादिपुरतो वेदास्तदन्ये तु यथारुचि अष्टधा वा चतुर्धा वा कृत्वा पूजां समंततः
In the front, beginning from the east, the Vedas and others, according to one's preference, whether divided in eight or four, should be worshipped everywhere.
एवं ब्रह्माणमभ्यर्च्य त्रिभिरावरणैर्युतम् दक्षिणे पश्चिमे पश्चाद्रुद्रं सावरणं यजेत्
Thus, having worshipped Brahma, accompanied by three enclosures, one should worship Rudra with his enclosure in the south and then in the west.
तस्य ब्रह्मषडंगानि प्रथमावरणं स्मृतम् द्वितीयावरणे चैव विद्येश्वरमयं तथा
His sixfold aspects of Brahma are considered the first enclosure; in the second enclosure, likewise, those composed of the lords of knowledge.
तृतीयावरणे भेदो विद्यते स तु कथ्यते चतस्रो मूर्तयस्तस्य पूज्याः पूर्वादितः क्रमात्
In the third enclosure, there is a distinction, which is now described: four forms of his should be worshipped, in order from the east onward.
त्रिगुणास्सकलो देवः पुरस्ताच्छिवसंज्ञकः राजसो दक्षिणे ब्रह्मा सृष्टिकृत्पूज्यते भवः
The deity, complete with three qualities, is called Shiva in the east; Brahma, of the rajas quality, the creator, is worshipped in the south as Bhava.
तामसः पश्चिमे चाग्निः पूज्यस्संहारको हरः सात्त्विकस्सुखकृत्सौम्ये विष्णुर्विश्वपतिर्मृडः
In the west, Agni, of the tamas quality, is worshipped as Hara, the destroyer; in the gentle north, Vishnu, of the sattva quality, the lord of the universe, is worshipped as Mrida, the bringer of happiness.
एवं पश्चिमदिग्भागे शम्भोः षड्विंशकं शिवम् समभ्यर्च्योत्तरे पार्श्वे ततो वैकुंठमर्चयेत्
Thus, in the western direction, having worshipped the twenty-six forms of Shiva, one should then worship Vaikuntha on the northern side.
वासुदेवं पुरस्कृत्वा प्रथमावरणे यजेत् अनिरुद्धं दक्षिणतः प्रद्युम्नं पश्चिमे ततः
Placing Vasudeva at the front, one should worship him in the first enclosure; Aniruddha in the south, Pradyumna in the west thereafter.
सौम्ये संकर्षणं पश्चाद्व्यत्यस्तौ वा यजेदिमौ प्रथमावरणं प्रोक्तं द्वितीयावरणं शुभम्
In the gentle north, Sankarshana is worshipped afterwards; or these two may be interchanged. This is called the first enclosure; the second enclosure is auspicious.
मत्स्यः कूर्मो वराहश्च नरसिंहोथ वामनः रामश्चान्यतमः कृष्णो भवानश्वमुखोपि च
Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Rama, any other, Krishna, Bhava, and even the horse-faced form.
तृतीयावरणे चक्रुः पूर्वभागे समर्चयेत् नारायणाख्यां याम्येस्त्रं क्वचिदव्याहतं यजेत्
In the third enclosure, one should worship in the eastern part, offering reverence to the Narayana aspect; in the southern direction, one should perform sacrifice to the Yama weapon, wherever unobstructed.
पश्चिमे पांचजन्यं च शार्ङ्गंधनुरथोत्तरे एवं त्र्यावरणैः साक्षाद्विश्वाख्यां परमं हरिम्
In the western direction, the Panchajanya (conch) should be worshipped, and the Sharnga bow in the northern direction; thus, with three enclosures, one should directly worship Hari, known as Vishva, the supreme.
महाविष्णुं सदाविष्णुं मूर्तीकृत्य समर्चयेत् इत्थं विष्णोश्चतुर्व्यूहक्रमान्मूर्तिचतुष्टयम् पूजयित्वा च तच्छक्तीश्चतस्रः पुजयेत्क्रमात्
One should always worship Mahavishnu, the eternal Vishnu, manifesting his form; thus, having worshipped the fourfold forms of Vishnu according to the order of the four Vyuhas, one should then worship their four powers in succession.
प्रभामाग्नेयदिग्भागे नैरृते तु सरस्वतीम् गणांबिका च वायव्ये लक्ष्मीं रौद्रे समर्चयेत्
In the eastern direction, Prabha should be worshipped; in the southwest, Sarasvati; in the northwest, Ganambika; in the northern direction, Lakshmi; and in the western direction, Raudri.
एवं भान्वादिमूर्तीनां तच्छक्तीनामनंतरम् पूजां विधाय लोकेशांस्तत्रैवावरणे यजेत्
In this way, having worshipped the forms beginning with Bhanu and their respective powers without interruption, one should then worship the Lords of the world in that same enclosure.
इन्द्रमग्निं यमं चैव निरृतिं वरुणं तथा वायुं सोमं कुबेरं च पश्चादीशानमर्चयेत्
Indra, Agni, Yama, Nirriti, Varuna, Vayu, Soma, Kubera, and then Ishana should be worshipped in succession.
एवं चतुर्थावरणं पूजयित्वा विधानतः आयुधानि महेशस्य पश्चाद्बांह्यं समर्चयेत्
Thus, having worshipped the fourth enclosure according to the prescribed method, one should then worship the weapons of Mahesha outside, in the western direction.
श्रीमन्त्रिशूलमैशाने वज्रं माहेन्द्रदिङ्मुखे परशुं वह्निदिग्भागे याम्ये सायकमर्चयेत्
The trident of Ishana should be worshipped in the eastern direction; the thunderbolt in the direction of Indra; the axe in the direction of Agni; and the arrow in the southern direction.
नैरृते तु यजेत्खड्गं पाशं वारुणगोचरे अंकुशं मारुते भागे पिनाकं चोत्तरे यजेत्
In the southwest, one should worship the sword; in the region of Varuna, the noose; in the region of Vayu, the goad; and in the northern direction, the Pinaka bow.
पश्चिमाभिमुखं रौद्रं क्षेत्रपालं समर्चयेत् पञ्चमावरणं चैव सम्पूज्यानन्तरं बहिः
Facing west, one should worship the fierce Kshetrapala; and after completing the worship of the fifth enclosure, one should worship outside.
सर्वावरणदेवानां बहिर्वा पञ्चमे ऽथवा पञ्चमे मातृभिस्सार्धं महोक्ष पुरतो यजेत्
Outside all the enclosure deities, or in the fifth enclosure, one should worship Mahoksha in front, together with the Mothers.
ततः समंततः पूज्यास्सर्वा वै देवयोनयः खेचरा ऋषयस्सिद्धा दैत्या यक्षाश्च राक्षसाः
Then, all divine lineages should be worshipped everywhere: those who dwell in the sky, sages, siddhas, demons, yakshas, and rakshasas.
अनंताद्याश्च नागेंद्रा नागैस्तत्तत्कुलोद्भवैः डाकिनीभूतवेतालप्रेतभैरवनायकाः
The serpent kings beginning with Ananta, along with serpents born from their respective clans; Dakinis, ghosts, vetalas, pretas, and leaders of Bhairavas.
पातालवासिनश्चान्ये नानायोनिसमुद्भवाः नद्यस्समुद्रा गिरयः काननानि सरांसि च
Others who dwell in the netherworld, born from various lineages; rivers, oceans, mountains, forests, and lakes.
पशवः पक्षिणो वृक्षाः कीटाद्याः क्षुद्रयोनयः नराश्च विविधाकारा मृगाश्च क्षुद्रयोनयः
Animals, birds, trees, insects, and other small creatures; humans of various forms, and beasts of minor lineages.
भुवनान्यन्तरण्डस्य ततो ब्रह्माण्डकोटयः बहिरंडान्यसंख्यानि भुवनानि सहाधिपैः
The worlds within the cosmic egg, then countless Brahmanda universes outside, innumerable eggs and worlds together with their rulers.
