He should consider that as the source of sense objects, senses, and body; the kalās beginning with Śāṃtyatītā, in the forms of space and the other elements.
He should join them in the thread by their own names, and worship them with salutations; or else, having made them into seed-forms, proceed as previously described.
Then, at the beginning with impurity and the tattvas, he should observe the pervasion of the kalās; having offered oblations at the beginning with impurity, he should kindle the kalās.
Striking the disciple on the head, he should mark the thread on the body in order; at the Śāṃtyatīta stage, he should inscribe the thread, reciting the mantra.
Having thus performed up to the end of Nivṛtti and Śāṃtyatīta in sequence, and having offered three oblations, he should then worship Śiva in the maṇḍala.
Seating the disciple to the right of the deity, facing north, the teacher should give the remains of the oblation, the charu, in the maṇḍala with darbha grass.
The disciple, having respectfully received what was given by the teacher, with Śiva as witness, should eat it, then rinse his mouth twice, and recite the Śiva mantra.
In another maṇḍala, the teacher should give pañcagavya likewise; he too, having drunk it according to his capacity, should rinse his mouth twice and remember Śiva.
In the third maṇḍala, seating the disciple as before, he should give the tooth-cleanser, as prescribed by the scriptures.
With its tip soft, facing east or north, restraining speech and seated, the disciple should clean his teeth.
Having rinsed and discarded the tooth-cleanser, and rinsed his mouth, he should remember Śiva, and, as instructed by the teacher, enter the Śiva maṇḍala with joined palms.
If the discarded tooth-cleanser is seen by the teacher to be in the east, north, or west, then he should offer the remainder to Śiva or another deity.
If it is in an inauspicious direction, the teacher, to remove that fault, should offer one hundred, fifty, or half of that oblations with the root mantra.
Then, having embraced the disciple and recited the Śiva mantra in both ears, he should seat that disciple to the right side of the deity.
On a bed of darbha grass, which is clean and has not been used before, after it has been properly prepared and consecrated, one should lie down at night with the head facing east, maintaining purity, meditating inwardly on Shiva.
The teacher should tie the sacred thread into the tuft of hair of the disciple, binding it with the disciple’s own hair, and cover him with a cloth that has not been worn before, as well as with protective garments.
Around the bed, three lines should be drawn with ashes, sesame, and mustard seeds; after reciting protective mantras, offerings should be made outside these lines to the guardians of the directions.
The disciple, also lying nearby and fasting, having performed the prescribed preparation, should, upon awakening, rise and report to the teacher the dream he has seen.
Then, having completed all bathing and related rites as instructed by the teacher, one should approach the side of the Shiva mandala with hands joined, meditating on Shiva.
Next, having performed everything except the worship, as done on the previous day up to the binding of the eyes, the teacher should reveal the mandala.
When the disciple, with eyes bound, scatters flowers, wherever the flowers fall, the teacher should indicate the name associated with that spot.
Then, bringing the discarded offerings to the mandala as before, one should worship the Lord Ishana and also make offerings into the sacred fire of Shiva.
If the disciple has seen a bad dream, to remove its ill effects, one should offer one hundred, fifty, or half of that oblations with the root mantra.
Then, as before, the thread tied in the hair should be allowed to hang down, and from the worship of the foundation onward, one should proceed according to the stages of cessation.
One should perform the worship of Vagishvari up to its conclusion, preceded by oblations; then, having bowed to Vagisha, who is the pervasive cause of cessation, one should proceed.
Having worshipped the deity in the mandala and offered three oblations, one should grant the attainment of the child simultaneously in all wombs.
Then, for the disciple, one should perform striking, sprinkling, and other rites upon the thread-body; having taken up oneself, one should report at the twelfth segment.
Afterwards, taking the root with the gesture prescribed in the scripture, the teacher should mentally unite the disciple simultaneously with all wombs.
There are eight types of gods, five types of animals, and with one type of birth, fourteen types of human wombs.
In all these, for simultaneous entry, the teacher should, according to proper method, establish the disciple’s self in the form of Vagishvari.
