Of what use are many mantras or extensive scriptures, or thousands of Vājapeya sacrifices, for one who has devotion to Janārdana?

It is for the sake of that eternal Lord that even Maheśa, the sky-clad one, with matted hair and body smeared with ashes, is seen by people as an ascetic.

Through that wealth, prosperity arises for the subjects who are near; with it, even those like Indra, along with friends and relatives, flourish.
