सर्वाश्चर्यमयः सर्वसिद्धार्थः सर्वरंजितः । सर्वामोघोद्यमो ब्रह्मरुद्राद्युत्कृष्टचेतनाः
He is full of wonders, the fulfillment of all goals, delighting all. His efforts are unfailing; his consciousness surpasses Brahma, Rudra, and others.
शंभोः पितामहो ब्रह्मपिता शक्राद्यधीश्वरः । सर्वदेवप्रियः सर्वदेवमूर्तिरनुत्तमः
He is the grandfather of Shambhu, father of Brahma, and lord over Indra and others. Beloved of all gods, he embodies all deities, unsurpassed.
सर्वदेवैकशरणं सर्वदेवैकदैवतम् । यज्ञभुग्यज्ञफलदो यज्ञेशो यज्ञभावनः
He is the sole refuge of all gods, the one divinity for all. He enjoys sacrifices, grants their fruits, is the lord of sacrifice, and inspires sacrificial acts.
यज्ञत्राता यज्ञपुमान्वनमाली द्विजप्रियः । द्विजैकमानदो विप्र कुलदेवो सुरांतकः
He protects sacrifices, is the personification of sacrifice, wears a garland of forest flowers, and is dear to the twice-born. He alone honors Brahmins, is the deity of their lineage, and the destroyer of demons.
सर्वदुष्टांतकृत्सर्वसज्जनानन्यपालकः । सप्तलोकैकजठरः सप्तलोकैकमंडनः
He ends all wickedness and solely protects all virtuous people. He alone contains the seven worlds within his belly and adorns them.
सृष्टिस्थित्यंतकृच्चक्री शार्ङ्गधन्वा गदाधरः । शंखभृन्नंदकी पद्मपाणिर्गरुडवाहनः
He creates, sustains, and dissolves the universe; he wields the discus, the bow Sharnga, and the mace. He holds the conch, the sword Nandaka, the lotus, and rides Garuda.
अनिर्देश्यवपुः सर्वपूज्यस्त्रैलोक्यपावनः । अनंतकीर्तिर्निःसीम पौरुषः सर्वमंगलः 6.71.
His form is indescribable; he is revered by all and purifies the three worlds. His fame is endless; his strength is boundless; he is the source of all auspiciousness.
सूर्यकोटिप्रतीकाशो यमकोटिदुरासदः । मयकोटिजगत्स्रष्टा वायुकोटिमहाबलः
He shines like ten million suns, is unapproachable even to ten million Yamas. He creates worlds beyond the reach of ten million Mayas and possesses the might of ten million winds.
कोटींदु जगदानंदी शंभुकोटिमहेश्वरः । कंदर्पकोटिलावण्यो दुर्गकोट्यरिमर्दनः
He delights the world like ten million moons, is the supreme lord over ten million Shambhus. His beauty surpasses ten million Cupids; he crushes enemies greater than ten million Durgas.
समुद्रकोटिगंभीरस्तीर्थकोटि समाह्वयः । कुबेरकोटि लक्ष्मीवाञ्छक्रकोटि विलासवान्
He is as deep as ten million oceans, renowned among ten million sacred places. He possesses the wealth of ten million Kuberas and the splendor of ten million Indras.
हिमवत्कोटिनिष्कंपः कोटिब्रह्मांडविग्रहः । कोट्यश्वमेधपापघ्नो यज्ञकोटिसमार्चनः
He is unwavering like ten million Himalayas, his form encompasses ten million universes. He destroys the sins of ten million horse sacrifices and is worshipped in ten million sacrifices.
सुधाकोटिस्वास्थ्यहेतुः कामधुक्कोटिकामदः । ब्रह्मविद्याकोटिरूपः शिपिविष्टः शुचिश्रवाः
He is the source of health for ten million nectars, grants desires like ten million wish-fulfilling cows. He is the embodiment of ten million forms of Brahma-knowledge, known as Shipivishta and praised for his purity.
विश्वंभरस्तीर्थपादः पुण्यश्रवणकीर्तनः । आदिदेवो जगज्जैत्रो मुकुंदः कालनेमिहा
He sustains the universe, his feet are holy places, and his fame is sanctified by hearing. He is the primordial deity, victorious over the world, Mukunda, destroyer of Kalanemi.
वैकुंठोऽनंतमाहात्म्यो महायोगेश्वरोत्सवः । नित्यतृप्तोलसद्भावो निःशंको नरकांतकः
He is Vaikuntha, of infinite greatness, the festival of supreme yogis. His nature is ever content, fearless, and the destroyer of hell.
दीनानाथैकशरणं विश्वैकव्यसनापहः । जगत्कृपाक्षमो नित्यं कृपालुः सज्जनाश्रयः
He is the sole refuge of the distressed and the lordless, the remover of the world's afflictions, ever capable of compassion toward all, merciful, and the shelter of the virtuous.
योगेश्वरः सदोदीर्णो वृद्धिक्षयविवर्जितः । अधोक्षजो विश्वरेताः प्रजापति शताधिपः
He is the master of yoga, ever exalted, free from growth and decay, the transcendent, the seed of the universe, the lord of creatures, and the ruler of hundreds.
शक्रब्रह्मार्चितपदः शंभुब्रह्मोर्ध्वधामगः । सूर्यसोमेक्षणो विश्वभोक्ता सर्वस्य पारगः
His feet are worshipped by Indra and Brahma; he dwells in the highest abode of Shiva and Brahma; he is seen by the sun and moon, the enjoyer of the universe, and the one who transcends all.
जगत्सेतुर्धर्मसेतुधरो विश्वधुरंधरः । निर्ममोऽखिललोकेशो निःसंगोऽद्भुतभोगवान्
He is the bridge of the world, the bearer of righteousness, the supporter of the universe; without possessiveness, lord of all realms, unattached, and possessed of wondrous enjoyments.
वश्यमायो वश्यविश्वो विष्वक्सेनः सुरोत्तमः । सर्वश्रेयः पतिर्दिव्यानर्घ्यभूषणभूषितः
He controls Māyā, he controls the universe, he is Viṣvaksena, the best among the gods; lord of all auspiciousness, adorned with divine, priceless ornaments.
सर्वलक्षणलक्षण्यः सर्वदैत्येंद्रदर्पहा । समस्तदेवसर्वस्वं सर्वदैवत नायकः
He is marked by all auspicious signs, destroyer of the pride of all demon chiefs; the entirety of the gods' wealth, and the leader of all divinities.
समस्तदेवकवचं सर्वदेवशिरोमणिः । समस्तदेवतादुर्गः प्रपन्नाशनिपंजरः
He is the armor of all the gods, the crown jewel of all deities, the fortress of all divinities, and the cage for those who seek refuge.
समस्तभयहृन्नामा भगवान्विष्टरश्रवाः । विभुः सर्वहितोदर्को हतारिः स्वर्गतिप्रदः
He is named the remover of all fears, the blessed one of vast renown, the all-pervading, the source of universal welfare, destroyer of enemies, and giver of heavenly attainment.
सर्वदैवतजीवेशो ब्राह्मणादिनियोजकः । ब्रह्मशंभुः परार्धायुर्ब्रह्मज्येष्ठः शिशुः स्वराट्
He is lord of all divine beings and living creatures, the one who appoints Brahmins and others; Brahma and Shiva, of supreme lifespan, eldest among Brahmas, the child, the sovereign.
विराड्भक्तपराधीनः स्तुत्यः स्तोत्रार्थसाधकः । परार्थकर्त्ताकृत्यज्ञः स्वार्थकृत्य सदोज्झितः
He is the cosmic form, dependent on the devotion of his followers, worthy of praise, fulfiller of the purpose of hymns; doer of others' purposes, knower of duties, ever free from self-serving acts.
सदानंदः सदाभद्रः सदाशांतः सदाशिवः । सदाप्रियः सदातुष्टः सदापुष्टः सदार्चितः
He is ever-blissful, ever-auspicious, ever-peaceful, ever-beneficent, ever-beloved, ever-content, ever-nourished, ever-worshipped.
सदापूतो पावनाग्र्यो वेदगुह्यो वृषाकपिः । सहस्रनामा त्रियुगश्चतुर्मूर्तिश्चतुर्भुजः
He is ever-pure, foremost purifier, hidden in the Vedas, Vṛṣākapi; bearer of a thousand names, present in three ages, four-formed, four-armed.
भूतभव्यभवन्नाथो महापुरुषपूर्वजः । नारायणो मुंजकेशः सर्वयोगविनिःसृतः
He is lord of past, present, and future, the ancient great person; Nārāyaṇa, with matted hair, origin of all yoga.
वेदसारो यज्ञसारः सामसारस्तपोनिधिः । साध्यः श्रेष्ठः पुराणर्षिः निष्ठा शांतिः परायणः
He is the essence of the Vedas, the essence of sacrifice, the essence of the Sāma hymns, the treasury of austerity; attainable, supreme, ancient sage, culmination, peace, and ultimate goal.
शिवत्रिशूलविध्वंसी श्रीकंठैकवरप्रदः । नरः कृष्णो हरिर्धर्मनंदनो धर्मजीवनः
He is the destroyer of Shiva's trident, sole giver of boons to Śrīkaṇṭha; man, Kṛṣṇa, Hari, delight of righteousness, and sustainer of dharma.
आदिकर्त्ता सर्वसत्यः सर्वस्त्रीरत्नदर्पहा । त्रिकालजित कंदर्प्प उर्वशीसृङ्मुनीश्वरः
He is the prime creator, truth of all, destroyer of the pride of all jewels among women; conqueror of the three times, Kāma, Urvaśī's horn, and lord of sages.
