अन्येषां चैव लोकानां का कथा चैव सुव्रत । पंचविंशत्यत्र नागा नर्तक्यो विविधास्तथा
And concerning other worlds, what more is there to say, O virtuous one? There, twenty-five Nagas and various dancers are present.
ब्रह्महत्या बालहत्या गवांहत्या तथैव च । ताः सर्वा विलयं यांति जगन्नाथस्य दर्शनात्
The sins of killing a Brahmin, killing a child, and killing a cow—all these are destroyed by the sight of Jagannatha.
जगन्नाथेत्युच्चरञ्जंतुर्महापापैः प्रमुच्यते । विष्णोः पूजनकं पुष्पैस्तन्माहात्म्यमपि ब्रुवे
By uttering the name 'Jagannatha,' a person is freed from great sins; I will also speak of the greatness of worshiping Vishnu with flowers.
पर्वतानां वर्णनं च देशानां वर्णनं तथा । गोपूजनादिमाहात्म्यं सिद्धानां चैव पूजनम्
The description of mountains and likewise the description of regions; the greatness of cow worship and similar acts, and the worship of the perfected ones.
सिक्थे दत्ते तु यत्पुण्यं तत्सर्वं प्रवदाम्यहम् । कदलीगर्भदानं च वृक्षदानं ततः परम्
Whatever merit arises from giving sweet food, I will declare it all; also the offering of banana fruit and, further, the gift of trees.
अश्वदानं हस्तिदानं जपमाहात्म्यमुत्तमम् । मंत्रदीक्षागमं चैव गुरोर्लक्षणमेव च
The giving of horses, the giving of elephants, the supreme greatness of recitation; the arrival of mantra initiation and also the characteristics of the teacher.
शिष्यस्य लक्षणं प्रोक्तं यथा पौराणिका विदुः । चरणोदकमाहात्म्यं पितृश्राद्धादिकं च यत्
The characteristics of the disciple are stated, as known by the ancient sages; the greatness of the water from the feet, and whatever pertains to ancestral rites.
पितृक्षयाहदानं च नीलोत्सर्गविधिस्ततः । ग्रहणं चंद्रसूर्यस्य तत्र दानं च यद्भवेत्
The offering for the destruction of ancestors, and then the rite of releasing the blue ones; the eclipse of the moon and sun, and whatever gifts are made there.
शालग्रामस्य दानस्य माहात्म्यं माल्यगंधयोः । दशम्यैकादशीवेधं द्वादशी हरिवासरम्
The greatness of giving a Shalagrama, and of garlands and fragrances; the observance of Dashami, Ekadashi, and Dvadashi, the day of Hari.
तेषां चैव तुमाहात्म्यं रुद्रनामादिकं च यत् । मथुरायाश्च माहात्म्यं कुरुक्षेत्रादिकं तथा
And their greatness, and whatever pertains to the names of Rudra; the glory of Mathura and likewise of Kurukshetra and other places.
सेतुबंधस्य चाख्यानं श्रीरामेश्वरजं तथा । त्र्यंबकस्य च माहात्म्यं पंचवट्याश्च यत्फलम्

The fruit gained by giving away the earth along with its oceans—such a result one attains by partaking, even once, in the food offered to Viṣṇu.
सात्विकाः सत्त्वसंपन्ना राजसाः कामुकाः स्मृताः । तामसा अधमाः प्रोक्ता वैष्णवानां तु लक्षणम्
Those who are sāttvic are endowed with purity; those who are rājas are known as passionate; those who are tāmas are said to be base—these are the characteristics of the followers of Viṣṇu.
ब्राह्मणा वैष्णवा ये तु वेदधर्मपरायणाः । तेषां माहात्म्यं वक्ष्यामि यथोक्तं चैव नारद
The brāhmaṇas who are devoted to Viṣṇu and dedicated to the dharma of the Vedas—their greatness I shall declare to you, as it has been spoken, O Nārada.
विष्णुनिंदारता ये वै द्रव्यलोभेन सत्तम । तेषां पापं तु वक्ष्यामि सांप्रतं ऋषिसत्तम
Those who engage in reviling Viṣṇu out of greed for wealth, O best of sages, I shall now describe the sin that belongs to them.
ज्वालामुख्यास्तथाख्यानं हिमशैलेक्षणं तथा । ब्रह्मोत्पत्तिस्तु वै यत्र तं प्रदेशं वदाम्यहम्

महेश्वरकृतां भक्तिं विष्णुना च महात्मना । अद्यापि काश्यां जपति महारुद्रो ह्यनामयम्
The devotion performed by Maheśvara and by the great-souled Viṣṇu—even today, the great Rudra recites it in Kāśī, free from affliction.
माहात्म्यं च ततो वक्ष्ये सागरस्य हि नारद । तिलतर्पणजं पुण्यं यवजं पुण्यमेव च
Then I shall speak of the greatness of the ocean, O Nārada, and the merit arising from offering sesame and barley.
तुलसीदलसंयुक्तं तर्पणं देवजं तथा । तन्माहात्म्यं प्रवक्ष्यामि यथोक्तं ब्रह्मणा मम
The offering to the gods accompanied by tulasī leaves—I shall declare its greatness to you, as it was told to me by Brahmā.

The giving of a bed, the giving of a cow, and likewise a bull; the greatness of Janmāṣṭamī, and also the greatness of Matsya.
