Vīrabhadra also said to him, 'Become a member of the sweaty group; formerly, Śaṃbhu was worshipped with objects touched by sweat.'

See this bell-faced one; formerly, a merchant named Vibhāvason, righteous and a great giver, always arranged meals for Brahmins, performed his rites, and in the morning, after bowing to Shiva and worshipping with flowers, smeared a certain spot with cow dung, cleaned lotuses and other items, offered them to the deity, and made the sound of a tainted bell.

Rāma said: How is it that the bell is tainted?
