सृष्टिस्थित्यंतरूपा या विद्या विद्यात्रयीपरा । स्वरूपा शक्तिरुपा च मायारूपा च चिन्मयी
She is the form of creation, maintenance, and dissolution; she is knowledge, supreme among the threefold knowledge; her nature is power, form, illusion, and consciousness.
ब्रह्मविष्णुशिवादीनां देहकारणकारणम् । चराचरं जगत्सर्वं यन्मायापरिरंभितम्
She is the cause of the bodies of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and others; the entire moving and unmoving world is embraced by her illusion.
वृंदावनेश्वरी नाम्ना राधा धात्रानुकारणात् । तामालिंग्य वसंतं तं मुदा वृंदावनेश्वरम्
Known as Vrindavaneshvari, Radha, due to her resemblance to the Creator; embracing him, she dwells joyfully with the Lord of Vrindavan.
अन्योन्यचुंबनाश्लेष मदावेशविघूर्णितम् । ध्यायेदेवं कृष्णदेवं स च सिद्धिमवाप्नुयात्
With mutual kissing and embracing, intoxicated with love and whirling; whoever meditates thus on Krishna, attains perfection.
मंत्रराजमिमं गुह्यं तस्य मंत्रं च मंत्रवित् । यो जपेच्छृणुयाद्वापि स महात्मा सुदुर्ल्लभः
This king of mantras is secret, and its mantra is known to the knower of mantras; whoever recites or hears it, that great soul is exceedingly rare.
राधिंका चित्ररेखा च चंद्रा मदनसुंदरी । श्रीप्रिया श्रीमधुमती शशिरेखा हरिप्रिया
Radhika, Citrarekha, Candra, Madanasundari, Sripriya, Srimadhumati, Sasirekha, Haripriya.
सुवर्णशोभा संमोहा प्रेमरोमांचराजिता । वैवर्ण्यस्वेदसंयुक्ता भावासक्ता प्रियंवदा
Golden-shining, enchanting, adorned with the thrill of love; marked by change of color and sweat, absorbed in emotion, sweet-spoken.
सुवर्णमालिनी शांता सुरासरसिका तथा । सर्वस्त्री जीवना दीनवत्सला विमलाशया
Golden-necklaced, peaceful, fond of divine nectar; the life of all women, compassionate to the distressed, pure-hearted.
निपीतनामपीयूषा सा राधा परिकीर्तिता । सुदीर्घस्मितसंयुक्ता तप्तचामीकरप्रभा
She is called Radha, who has drunk the nectar of names; endowed with a long smile, shining with the radiance of molten gold.
मूर्च्छत्प्रेमनदी राधा वरणा लोचनांजना । मायामात्सर्यसंयुक्ता दानसाम्राज्य जीवना
Radha, the river of fainting love, chosen, the collyrium of the eyes; united with illusion and jealousy, the life of the realm of giving.
सुरतोत्सव संग्रामा चित्ररेखा प्रकीर्तिता । गौरांगी नातिदीर्घा च सदा वादनतत्परा
She is renowned as Citrarekha, whose festivals of love are like battles; fair-complexioned, not very tall, always devoted to playing music.
दैन्यानुरागनटना मूर्च्छारोमांचविह्वला । हरिदक्षिणपार्श्वस्था सर्वमंत्रप्रिया तथा
She dances with feelings of sorrow and affection, overwhelmed by swooning and goosebumps; standing at Hari's right side, and fond of all mantras.
अनंगलोभमाधुर्या चंद्रा सा परिकीर्तिता । सलीलमंथरगतिर्मंजुमुद्रित लोचना
She is called Chandra, sweet in her passion for love, moving gracefully like water, with charming, expressive eyes.
प्रेमधारोज्ज्वलाकीर्णा दलितांजन शोभना । कृष्णानुरागरसिका रासध्वनिसमुत्सुका
She is adorned with streams of radiant love, beautiful with smudged collyrium; she delights in Krishna's affection and eagerly awaits the sound of the rasa dance.
अहंकारसमायुक्ता मुखनिंदितचंद्रमाः । मधुरालापचतुरा जितेंद्रियशिरोमणिः
Endowed with pride, she shames the moon with her face; skilled in sweet speech, she is the jewel among those who have mastered their senses.
सुंदरस्मितसंयुक्ता सा वै मदनसुंदरी । विविक्तरासरसिका श्यामा श्याममनोहरा
She is united with a beautiful smile, truly Madanasundari; she enjoys secluded rasa, dark-complexioned and captivatingly dark.
प्रेम्णा प्रेमकटाक्षेण हरेश्चित्तविमोहनी । जितेंद्रिया जितक्रोधा सा प्रिया परिकीर्तिता
With loving glances and love, she enchants Hari's mind; she is known as the beloved, victorious over her senses and anger.
सुतप्तस्वर्णगौरांगी लीलागमनसुंदरी । स्मरोत्थ प्रेमरोमांच वैचित्रमधुराकृतिः
Her body is golden like well-refined gold, beautiful in her playful arrival; her form is sweet and varied, with goosebumps arising from love born of desire.
सुंदरस्मितसंयुक्त मुखनिंदितचंद्रमाः । मधुरालापचतुरा जितेंद्रियशिरोमणिः
She is adorned with a lovely smile, her face shaming the moon; skilled in sweet conversation, she is the foremost among those who have conquered their senses.
कीर्तिता सा मधुमती प्रेमसाधनतत्परा । संमोहज्वररोमांच प्रेमधारा समन्विता
She is called Madhumati, devoted to the practice of love; possessed of the fever and goosebumps of bewilderment, and streams of love.
दानधूलिविनोदा च रासध्वनि महानटी । शशिरेखा च विज्ञेया गोपालप्रेयसी सदा
She delights in the dust of gifts, is a great dancer in the sound of the rasa; she is known as Shashirekha, always the beloved of Gopala.
कृष्णात्मा सोत्तमा श्यामा मधुपिंगललोचना । तत्पादप्रेमसंमोहात्क्वचित्पुलकचुंबिता
Her soul is Krishna's, she is supreme and dark-complexioned, with honey-golden eyes; sometimes kissed by goosebumps from the enchantment of love for his feet.
शिवकुंडे शिवानंदा नंदिनी देहिकातटे । रुक्मिणी द्वारवत्यां तु राधा वृंदावने वने
In Shivakunda she is Shivānandā, Nandinī on the banks of Dehika; Rukmini in Dvāravatī, and Radha in the forest of Vrindavan.
देवकी मथुरायां तु जाता मे परमेश्वरी । चंद्रकूटे तथा सीता विंध्ये विंध्यनिवासिनी
She was born as Devakī in Mathurā, the supreme goddess for me; likewise Sītā at Chandrakūṭa, and the resident of Vindhya in the Vindhya mountains.
वाराणस्यां विशालाक्षी विमला पुरुषोत्तमे । वृंदावनाधिपत्यं च दत्तं तस्यै प्रसीदता
In Vārāṇasī she is Vishālākṣī, in Puruṣottama she is Vimalā; the lordship of Vrindavan was given to her by the one who is pleased.
कृष्णेनान्यत्र देवी तु राधा वृंदावने वने । नित्यानंदतनुः शौरिर्योऽशरीरीति भाष्यते
Elsewhere, Krishna's goddess is Radha in the forest of Vrindavan; the ever-blissful body of Shauri, who is called bodiless.
वाय्वग्निनाकभूमीनामंगाधिष्ठितदेवता । निरूप्यते ब्रह्मणोऽपि तथा गोविंदविग्रहः
She is the presiding deity established in the elements of air, fire, sky, and earth; even Brahma is described thus, as is the form of Govinda.
सेंद्रियोऽपि यथा सूर्यस्तेजसा नोपलक्ष्यते । तथा कांतियुतः कृष्णः कालं मोहयति ध्रुवम्
Just as the sun, though possessing senses, is not perceived by its brilliance, so Krishna, endowed with radiance, certainly bewilders time.
न तस्य प्राकृती मूर्तिर्मेदोमांसास्थिसंभवा । योगी चैवेश्वरश्चान्यः सर्वात्मा नित्यविग्रहः
He does not possess a material form arising from fat, flesh, or bone; the yogi and the Lord are distinct, all-pervading, and eternally embodied.
काठिन्यं देवयोगेन करकाघृतयोरिव । कृष्णस्यामिततत्त्वस्य पादपृष्ठं न देवता
By divine yoga, there is hardness as between the palms and ghee; the sole of Krishna, of infinite essence, is not for the gods.
