While Jarasandha was thus engaged in the slaughter of all kings and peoples, Bhima and Arjuna, together with Krishna, entered his house disguised as Brahmins.
Seeing them, he bowed respectfully, seated them on appropriate seats, honored them with the madhuparka ceremony, and said: 'I am blessed, my purpose is fulfilled. For what reason have you come to me? Tell me, and I will grant you whatever you desire.'
Vasudeva, smiling, spoke to the king: 'Krishna, Bhima, and Arjuna have come for battle. Choose one of us for a duel.'
He replied, 'So be it,' and for the duel, he chose Bhima.
Then, between Bhima and Jarasandha, a terrifying wrestling match took place continuously for twenty-five days.
Then, prompted by Krishna, the son of the wind split Jarasandha's body in two and cast him to the ground. Thus, having slain Jarasandha by the son of Pandu, Vasudeva freed the kings imprisoned by Jarasandha.
Having slain Jarasandha by the son of the wind, the chief of the Yadus freed the kings who had been imprisoned in his house.
They, bowing and praising Madhusudana there, returned to their own lands, all protected by Krishna.
Then, having gone to Indraprastha with those two, Vāsudeva caused Yudhiṣṭhira to perform the great royal sacrifice, Rājasūya.
When the sacrifice was completed, the foremost honor was given to Kṛṣṇa, with Bhīṣma's approval.
There, Śiśupāla spoke many words of accusation against Kṛṣṇa.
Kṛṣṇa, with the Sudarśana discus, cut off his head.
At the end of three births, he attained resemblance to Hari.
Then, hearing that Śiśupāla had been slain, Dantavaktra came to Mathurā to fight with Kṛṣṇa.
Kṛṣṇa, hearing this, mounted his chariot and went to Mathurā to fight with him.
A battle between Dantavaktra and Vāsudeva took place for a day and night at the gate of Mathurā city, on the bank of the Yamunā; Kṛṣṇa struck him down with his mace.
He, with all his limbs crushed and pierced by the thunderbolt, like a mountain, fell lifeless to the ground.
He too attained union with Hari, the supreme, eternal abode of bliss, accessible to yogis.
Thus, Jaya and Vijaya, by the pretext of Sanaka and others' curse, descended into worldly existence solely for the Lord's play, and even in three births were slain by him; at the end of three births, they attained liberation.
Kṛṣṇa, having slain him, crossed the Yamunā, went to Nandavraja, greeted and comforted his former parents, and, embraced by them with tearful throats, bowed to and comforted all the elder cowherds, and satisfied those present with jewels, ornaments, and other gifts.
On the beautiful bank of the Kālindī, surrounded by sacred trees, Keśava played day and night with the cowherd women.
Hari, wearing the attire of a cowherd, dwelled there for two months, immersed in the joy of delightful play and bound by the nectar of love.
Then, all those present there—Nanda, the cowherds, people with their sons and wives, and the cattle, birds, and animals—by Vāsudeva's grace, took on divine forms, ascended celestial vehicles, and attained the supreme Vaikuṇṭha world.
Kṛṣṇa, having granted the supreme, flawless abode to all the inhabitants of Nandavraja, entered the splendid Dvāravatī, praised in heaven by the hosts of gods.
There, Vasudeva, Ugrasena, Saṃkarṣaṇa, Pradyumna, Aniruddha, Akrūra, and others honored him daily; with sixteen thousand wives and eight divine queens, bearing the form of the universe, adorned with celestial jewels, in various houses, on beds decorated with flowers, he delighted them.
Then, a brāhmaṇa, childhood friend of Rāma and Kṛṣṇa, always afflicted by extreme poverty, wearing garments obtained by begging for handfuls of rice, came to the splendid city of Dvārakā to see Vāsudeva.
He stood silently for a moment at the entrance to Rukmini’s inner chambers.
Krishna, knowing that the Brahmin had arrived, greeted him with Pradyumna, took his left hand, seated him on a comfortable seat in another room, and, as he trembled with fear, washed his feet with water from a golden pitcher brought by Rukmini, and honored him with the traditional offering.
After satisfying him with food and drink like nectar and ambrosia, Krishna himself took with his own hand the parched rice that the Brahmin had received by begging and kept in his old garment, and, smiling, ate it.
When Krishna ate the parched rice, at that very moment, the Brahmin attained great wealth, grain, garments, and ornaments.
