तस्मात्सर्वात्मना देवि हृदिस्थं तद्वनं कुरु । वृंदावनविहारेषु कृष्णं कैशोरविग्रहम्
Therefore, O Devi, with your whole being, make that forest dwell in your heart—Vrindavana, where Krishna, in his youthful form, delights in his pastimes.
कालिंदी चाकरोद्यस्य कर्णिकायां प्रदक्षिणाम् । लीलानिर्वाणगंभीरं जलं सौरभमोहनम्
There, Yamuna made a circumambulation around the lotus center, her waters deep with playful mystery, enchanting with their fragrance.
आनंदामृत तन्मिश्रमकरंदघनालयम् । पद्मोत्पलाद्यैः कुसुमैर्नानावर्णसमुज्जवलम्
That water, mixed with the nectar of bliss, is the abode of swans, radiant with lotuses, blue lilies, and other flowers of various hues.
चक्रवाकादिविहगैर्मंजुनानाकलस्वनैः । शोभमानं जलं रम्यं तरंगातिमनोरमम्
With the sweet, melodious calls of chakravaka and other birds, the lovely water shines, delightful and charming with its waves.
तस्योभयतटी रम्या शुद्धकांचननिर्मिता । गंगाकोटिगुणा प्रोक्ता यत्र स्पर्शवराटकः
Its two banks are beautiful, made of pure gold, said to be millions of times greater than the Ganga, where the touchstone lies.
कर्णिकायां कोटिगुणो यत्र क्रीडारतो हरिः । कालिंदीकर्णिका कृष्णमभिन्नमेकविग्रहम्
In the lotus center, Hari delights in play, a millionfold more than elsewhere; Yamuna and the lotus center are Krishna, undivided, of one form.
पार्वत्युवाच। गोविंदस्य किमाश्चर्यं सौंदर्याकृतविग्रह । तदहं श्रोतुमिच्छामि कथयस्व दयानिधे
Parvati said: What is the wonder of Govinda, whose form is the very embodiment of beauty? I wish to hear of this—please tell me, O ocean of compassion.
ईश्वर उवाच। मध्ये वृंदावने रम्ये मंजुमंजीरशोभिते । योजनाश्रितसद्वृक्ष शाखापल्लवमंडिते
Ishvara said: In the midst of delightful Vrindavana, adorned with sweetly jingling anklets, with noble trees stretching for yojanas, their branches and leaves abundant—
तन्मध्ये मंजुभवने योगपीठं समुज्जवलम् । तदष्टकोणनिर्माणं नानादीप्तिमनोहरम्
In the midst of that, in a lovely grove, is the radiant seat of yoga, constructed in eight directions, wondrous with various shining lights.
तस्योपरि च माणिक्यरत्नसिंहासनं शुभम् । तस्मिन्नष्टदलं पद्मं कर्णिकायां सुखाश्रयम्
Above it is a splendid throne of ruby and gems; upon it, a lotus of eight petals, with a blissful center as its core.
गोविंदस्य परं स्थानं किमस्य महिमोच्यते । श्रीमद्गोविंदमंत्रस्थ बल्लवीवृंदसेवितम्
This is the supreme abode of Govinda—what more can be said of its greatness? There, the blessed Govinda mantra abides, served by the assembly of cowherd maidens.
दिव्यव्रजवयोरूपं कृष्णं वृंदावनेश्वरम् । व्रजेंद्रं संततैश्वर्यं व्रजबालैकवल्लभम्
There, in the divine form of Vraja, Krishna is the Lord of Vrindavana, the king of Vraja, ever possessing majesty, the sole beloved of the boys of Vraja.
यौवनोद्भिन्नकैशोरं वयसाद्भुतविग्रहम् । अनादिमादिं सर्वेषां नंदगोपप्रियात्मजम्
His wondrous form is at the threshold of youth, emerging from childhood, the beginningless source of all, the beloved son of Nanda Gopa.
श्रुतिमृग्यमजं नित्यं गोपीजनमनोहरम् । परंधाम परं रूपं द्विभुजं गोकुलेश्वरम्
He is sought by the Vedas, unborn, eternal, captivating to the gopis, the supreme abode, the supreme form, two-armed, the Lord of Gokula.
बल्लवीनंदनं ध्यायेन्निर्गुणस्यैककारणम् । सुश्रीमंतं नवं स्वच्छं श्यामधाममनोहरम्
One should meditate on the delight of the cowherd women, the sole cause of the attributeless, splendid, ever-fresh, pure, dark-hued, enchanting Lord.
नवीननीरदश्रेणी सुस्निग्धं मंजुकुंडलम् । फुल्लेंदीवरसत्कांति सुखस्पर्शं सुखावहम्
Like a cluster of fresh rainclouds, with glossy, lovely earrings, his radiance is like a blooming blue lotus, delightful to the touch, bestowing happiness.
दलितांजनपुंजाभ चिक्कणं श्याममोहनम् । सुस्निग्धनीलकुटिलाशेषसौरभकुंतलम्
His complexion is like a mass of split collyrium, smooth, dark, and enchanting, with glossy, dark, curling hair, fragrant in every strand.
तदूर्ध्वं दक्षिणे काले श्यामचूडामनोहरम् । नानावर्णोज्ज्वलं राजच्छिखंडिदलमंडितम्
Above that, on the right side, is a charming dark crest-jewel, resplendent with various colors, adorned with royal peacock feathers.
मंदारमंजुगोपुच्छाचूडं चारुविभूषणम् । क्वचिद्बृहद्दलश्रेणी मुकुटेनाभिमंडितम्
Adorned with a charming crown of mandara flowers and peacock feathers, beautifully decorated, and at times graced with a great array of shining leaves as a diadem.
अनेकमणिमाणिक्यकिरीटभूषणं क्वचित् । लोलालकवृतं राजत्कोटिचंद्रसमाननम्

नासाग्रगजमुक्तांशु मुग्धीकृत जगत्त्रयम् । सिंदूरारुणसुस्निग्धाधरौष्ठसुमनोहरम्
The tip of the nose adorned with a pearl like an elephant’s, captivating the three worlds, with lips red as vermilion, soft, and exceedingly charming.
नानावर्णोल्लसत्स्वर्णमकराकृतिकुंडलम् । तद्रश्मिपुंजसद्गंड मुकुराभलसद्द्युतिम्
With earrings of various colors, shining gold, shaped like makaras, whose rays make the cheeks shine like polished mirrors.
कर्णोत्पलसुमंदारमकरोत्तंस भूषितम् । श्रीवत्सकौस्तुभोरस्कं मुक्ताहारस्फुरद्गलम्
Adorned with lotus and mandara flowers and makara-shaped ornaments at the ears, with the chest marked by Śrīvatsa and Kaustubha, and a neck shining with a pearl garland.
विलसद्दिव्यमाणिक्यं मंजुकांचन मिश्रितम् । करे कंकणकेयूरं किंकिणीकटिशोभितम्
Wearing resplendent divine jewels mixed with fine gold, with bracelets and armlets on the hands, and a girdle with tinkling bells at the waist.
मंजुमंजीरसौंदर्य्यश्रीमदंघ्रि विराजितम् । कर्पूरागुरुकस्तूरीविलसच्चंदनादिकम्
The feet radiant with the beauty of lovely anklets, exuding the fragrance of camphor, aguru, musk, and other delightful sandal pastes.
गोरोचनादिसंमिश्र दिव्यांगरागचित्रितम् । स्निग्धपीतपटी राजत्प्रपदांदोलितांजनम्
The body adorned with divine unguents mixed with yellow pigment and other fragrant substances, clad in smooth yellow cloth, with shining toe-rings and black antimony on the feet.
गंभीरनाभिकमलं रोमराजीनतस्रजम् । सुवृत्तजानुयुगलं पादपद्ममनोहरम्
With a deep navel like a lotus, a line of fine hair, well-formed twin knees, and lotus-like feet, all exceedingly beautiful.
ध्वजवज्रांकुशांभोज करांघ्रि तलशोभितम् । नखेंदु किरणश्रेणी पूर्णब्रह्मैककारणम्
The palms and soles marked with the banner, thunderbolt, goad, and lotus, shining, with nails like rows of moonbeams, the sole cause of the complete Brahman.
