He is also freed from all sense objects and the senses themselves; then, being one of pure knowledge, he attains the state of isolation.
Just as, by the action of the flame, a lamp dries up its oil, and, with the support of the wick, O king, becomes free from duality and untouched by wind,
Afterwards, O wise one, the lamp emits soot from the oil; a black line appears at the tip of the lamp, O wise one.
Drawing in that oil by its own power, the flame becomes pure; likewise, when the body’s inner oil of karma is dried up,
Turning the sense objects into soot, he reveals them directly; becoming pure like a flame, he shines forth by himself.
Freed from the winds of anger, greed, and the like, being unattached and unmoving, his own light shines forth.
He sees the entire three worlds, each in its own place, by his own radiance; this form of pure knowledge I have described to you.
Now I will explain the twofold meditation of that one who wields the wheel; in the form of pure knowledge, he is seen by the vision of others.
Great souls engaged in yoga, devoted to the highest truth, see him—the all-knowing, all-seeing one—whom the deluded do not perceive.
Though without hands and feet, he moves everywhere; he grasps all the three worlds, both the immobile and the moving.
Though without nose and mouth, he smells and eats, O king; though earless, he hears everything—he is the witness of all, the lord of the world.
Formless, yet connected with forms, subject to the fivefold group, he is the life of all worlds, worshipped by all beings, moving and unmoving.
Though tongueless, he speaks all, in accordance with the Vedas and scriptures; though skinless, he perceives the touch of all.
Ever-blissful, with distinct vision, of one form, without support; without qualities, without possessiveness, all-pervading, with qualities, pure, and sinless.
Uncontrollable, yet the master of all, the giver of all, the knower of all; he has no mother, and indeed, he is all-pervading and sovereign.
Thus, he who sees this all-pervading meditation with undistracted mind attains the supreme state, formless and likened to immortality.
Now I will describe the second form; listen to it, O wise one: it is with form, with attributes, yet also formless and free from all affliction.
The entire, incomparable cosmic egg is pervaded by his presence; therefore, he is called Vāsudeva, O delight of kings.
Just as the light of a rain-bearing cloud comes from the sun, so does his radiance resemble the brilliance of the sun; he is four-armed, lord of the gods.
On his right shines a conch, adorned with gold and jewels; the Kaumodakī mace, destroyer of great demons, is also there.
On the left, in the hand of that great soul, shines a lotus, rich in fragrance; in his right hand is the great lotus.
He always appears resplendent, armed, and bearing the glory of the lotus; his neck is conch-shaped, his face well-formed, his eyes like lotus petals.
He is majestic, Hṛṣīkeśa, with teeth like jasmine buds; the lower lip of Guḍākeśa is of coral hue.
Puṇḍarīkākṣa shines with a radiant crown; Keśava, broad in form and with a beautiful chest, is resplendent.
Janārdana, marked by the Kaustubha gem, is majestic; his brilliance is like the sun's radiance, and he shines with two earrings.
Hari is adorned with armlets, bracelets, necklaces, and pearl garlands resembling constellations.
His form shines brilliantly; Vijaya, the best among the victorious, Govinda, also shines with golden garments.
He is adorned with rings on his fingers; Hari is resplendent with all weapons and divine ornaments.
Mounted on Garuḍa, the creator of the worlds, the lord of the universe; whoever meditates thus constantly, with undistracted mind—
Is freed from all sins and attains the world of Viṣṇu; thus, I have described all the forms of meditation on the Lord of the universe.
