प्रद्युम्नं च रती देवं तत्रोपरिसुखस्थितम् । जगन्मोहनसौंदर्य्यसारश्रेणीरसात्मकम्
There sits Pradyumna, the god of love, in supreme happiness; the very essence of the series of allures and beauties that enchant the world.
असितांभोजपुंजाभमरविंददलेक्षणम् । दिव्यालंकारभूषाभिर्दिव्यगंधानुलेपनम्
He resembles a cluster of dark lotuses, with eyes like lotus petals; adorned with divine ornaments and anointed with celestial fragrances.
जगन्मुग्धीकृताशेष सौंदर्याश्चर्यविग्रहम् । पूर्वोद्याने महारण्ये सुरद्रुम समाश्रये
His wondrous form, astonishing in beauty, enchants the entire world; in the eastern garden, amidst the great forest, sheltered by celestial trees.
तत्राधस्तु स्वर्णपीठे हेममंडपमंडिते । तस्य मध्ये स्थिरे राजद्दिव्यसिंहासनोज्ज्वले
There below, on a golden seat, adorned with a golden pavilion; in its center, on a splendid, firm, radiant divine lion throne.
दिव्योषयासमं श्रीमदनिरुद्धं जगत्पतिम् । सांद्रानंदघनश्यामं सुस्निग्धं नीलकुंतलम्
With a divine lady beside him is glorious Aniruddha, Lord of the world; intensely blissful, dark as a rain cloud, with lustrous blue hair.
सुभ्रून्नतलताभंगीं सुकपोलं सुनासिकम् । सुग्रीवं सुंदरं वक्षो मनोहर मनोहरम्
With eyebrows curved like tender creepers, beautiful cheeks, a fine nose, a graceful neck, and a lovely, enchanting chest.
किरीटिनं कुंडलिनं कंठभूषाविभूषितम् । मंजुमंजीरमाधुर्यादतिसौंदर्य विग्रहम्
He is adorned with a crown and earrings, his neck resplendent with ornaments, his form of unsurpassed beauty enhanced by the sweet sound of his anklets.
प्रियभृत्यगणाराध्यं यत्र संगीतकप्रियम् । पूर्णब्रह्मसदानंदं शुद्धसत्वस्वरूपकम्
He is worshipped by beloved attendants, delights in music and song, is the embodiment of complete Brahman and eternal bliss, and his nature is pure existence.
तस्योर्द्ध्वे चांतरिक्षे च विष्णुं सर्वेश्वरेश्वरम् । अनादिमादिचिद्रूपं चिदानंदं परं विभुम्
Above him, in the sky, is Vishnu, the Lord of all lords, whose form is consciousness without beginning or end, supreme, blissful, and all-pervading.
त्रिगुणातीतमव्यक्तं नित्यमक्षयमव्ययम् । समेघपुंजमाधुर्यसौंदर्यश्यामविग्रहम्
He transcends the three qualities, is unmanifest, eternal, imperishable, and unchanging, his form dark and beautiful like a mass of rain clouds.
नीलकुंचितसुस्निग्ध केशपाशातिसुंदरम् । अरविंददलस्निग्ध सुदीर्घचारुलोचनम्
His hair is deep blue, curly, and lustrous, exceedingly beautiful; his eyes are long, charming, and moist like lotus petals.
किरीटकुंडलोद्गंड शुद्धसत्वात्मभिर्वृतम् । आत्मारामैश्च चिद्रूपैस्तन्मूर्तिध्यानतत्परैः
He is surrounded by pure-hearted beings adorned with crowns, earrings, and prominent cheeks, and by those absorbed in meditation on his form, whose nature is consciousness itself.
हृदयारूढ तद्ध्य्नौर्नासाग्रन्यस्तलोचनैः । क्रियतेऽहैतुकीभक्तिः कायहृद्वृत्तिभाषितैः
With their gaze fixed at the tip of the nose, their hearts absorbed in meditation, they offer causeless devotion through actions, speech, and the movements of heart and body.
तत्सव्ये यक्षगंधर्वसिद्धविद्याधरादिभिः । सुकांतैरप्सरःसंघैर्नृत्यसंगीततत्परैः
To his left are Yakshas, Gandharvas, Siddhas, Vidyadharas, and others, along with groups of beautiful Apsaras, all devoted to dance and song.
तदंगभजनं कामं वांछद्भिः कृष्णलालसैः । तदग्रे वैष्णवैः सर्वैश्चांतरिक्षे सुखासने
Those who long to worship his limbs, desiring Krishna, and all the Vaishnavas, are seated comfortably in the sky before him.
प्रह्लादनारदाद्यैश्च कुमारशुकवैष्णवैः । जनकाद्यैर्लसद्भावैर्हृद्बाह्य स्फूर्तितत्परैः
Prahlada, Narada, and others, as well as Kumara, Shuka, and Vaishnavas like Janaka, all radiant with devotion, are absorbed in inner and outer realization.
पुलकाकुलसर्वांगैः स्फुरत्प्रेमसमाकुलैः । रहस्यामृतसंसिक्तैरर्द्धयुग्माक्षरो मनुः
Their entire bodies are thrilled, overwhelmed with manifest love, secretly bathed in nectar, as they recite the half-syllabled mantra.
मंत्रचूडामणिः प्रोक्तः सर्वमंत्रैककारणम् । सर्वदेवस्य मंत्राणां कैशोरं मंत्रहेतुकम्
This mantra is called the crest-jewel of mantras, the sole cause of all mantras, the youthful essence of all the mantras of the gods.
सर्वकैशोरमंत्राणां हेतुश्चूडामणिर्मनुः । जपं कुर्वंति मनसा पूर्णप्रेमसुखाश्रयाः
This crest-jewel mantra is the source of all youthful mantras; those who are established in the bliss of perfect love recite it in their minds.
वांछंति तत्पदांभोजे निश्चलं प्रेमसाधनम् । तद्बाह्ये स्फटिकाद्युच्च प्रावारे सुमनोहरे
They desire that unwavering means of love at his lotus feet; outside, there are splendid, elevated crystal pavilions, exceedingly beautiful.
कुंकुमैः सितरक्ताद्यैश्चतुर्दिक्षु समाकुलैः । शुक्लं चतुर्भुजं विष्णुं पश्चिमे द्वारपालकम्
In all four directions, there are heaps of saffron, white, red, and other powders; in the west stands white, four-armed Vishnu as the gatekeeper.
शंखचक्रगदापद्मकिरीटादि विभूषितम् । रक्तं चतुर्भुजं पद्मशंखचक्रगदायुधम्
He is adorned with conch, discus, mace, lotus, crown, and other ornaments; red, four-armed, bearing the lotus, conch, discus, and mace as weapons.
किरीटकुंडलोद्दीप्त द्वारपालकमुत्तरे । गौरं चतुर्भुजं विष्णुं शुखचक्रगदायुधम्
At the northern gate stands the gatekeeper, shining with crown and earrings; fair, four-armed Vishnu, bearing the conch, discus, and mace as weapons.
किरीटकुंडलाद्यैश्च शोभितं वनमालिनम् । पूर्वद्वारे द्वारपालं गौरं विष्णुं प्रकीर्तितम्
Adorned with crown, earrings, and other ornaments, wearing a garland of forest flowers, at the eastern gate stands the fair Vishnu, renowned as the gatekeeper.
कृष्णवर्णं चतुर्बाहुं शंखचक्रादिभूषणम् । दक्षिणद्वारपालं तु श्रीविष्णुंकृष्णवर्णकम्
Of dark complexion, with four arms, adorned with conch, discus, and other ornaments, the gatekeeper at the southern entrance is Śrī Viṣṇu, dark in hue.
श्रीकृष्णचरितं ह्येतद्यः पठेत्प्रयतः शुचिः । शृणुयाद्वापि यो भक्त्या गोविंदे लभते रतिम्
Whoever, pure and devoted, recites or listens to this account of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, attains love for Govinda.
इति श्रीपद्मपुराणे पातालखंडे कृष्णचरिते सप्ततितमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the seventieth chapter, concerning the deeds of Kṛṣṇa, in the Pātāla section of the glorious Padma Purāṇa.
ईश्वर उवाच-। तदेकाग्रमना भूत्वा शृणु देवि वरानने । आसीदुग्रतपा नाम मुनिरेको दृढव्रतः
Īśvara said: Become single-minded, O goddess of radiant face, and listen. There was a sage named Ugratapa, steadfast in his vows.
साग्निको ह्यग्निभक्षश्च चचारात्यद्भुतं तपः । जजाप परमं जाप्यं मंत्रं पंचदशाक्षरम्
He performed astonishing austerities, maintaining fire and consuming only offerings to Agni, and recited the supreme fifteen-syllable mantra.
काममंत्रेण पुटितं कामं कामवरप्रदात् । कृष्णायेति पदं स्वाहा सहितं सिद्धिदं परम्
Infused with the seed-mantra of desire, granting the boon of desire, the phrase 'Kṛṣṇāya' together with 'svāhā' bestows the highest attainment.
