तदा मुनिः प्रहृष्टात्मा देवानाह्वयदद्भुतान् । ते सर्वे तत्क्षणात्प्राप्ताः स्वपरीवारसंवृताः
Then the sage, his heart delighted, summoned the wondrous gods, and all of them arrived at that very moment, surrounded by their retinues.
पार्वत्युवाच- यदाकर्णनमेतस्य ये वा पारिषदाः प्रभोः । तदहं श्रोतुमिच्छामि कथयस्व दयानिधे
Pārvatī said: O Lord, I wish to hear about those who listen to this, and the attendants of the Lord—please tell me, O ocean of compassion.
ईश्वर उवाच। राधया सह गोविंदं स्वर्णसिंहासनेस्थितम् । पूर्वोक्तरूपलावण्यं दिव्यभूषांबरस्रजम्
Īśvara said: With Rādhā, Govinda is seated upon a golden lion-throne, possessing the previously described beauty of form, adorned with divine ornaments, garments, and garlands.
त्रिभंगी मंजु सुस्निग्धं गोपीलोचनतारकम् । तद्बाह्ये योगपीठे च स्वर्णसिंहासनावृते
He stands in a graceful threefold-bending posture, charming and gentle, the star among the gopīs' eyes; and outside, on the yogic seat, surrounded by the golden lion-throne.
प्रत्यंगरभसावेशाः प्रधानाः कृष्णवल्लभाः । ललिताद्याः प्रकृत्यंशा मूलप्रकृतिराधिका
Absorbed in close embrace, the chief beloveds of Kṛṣṇa—Lalitā and the others—are portions of Prakṛti, with Rādhikā as the original Prakṛti.
संमुखे ललिता देवी श्यामला वायुकोणके । उत्तरे श्रीमती धन्या ऐशान्यां श्रीहरिप्रिया
In front is goddess Lalitā, Śyāmalā is at the northwest, in the north is the glorious Dhanyā, and in the northeast is Śrī Haripriyā.
विशाखा च तथा पूर्वे शैब्या चाग्नौ ततः परम् । पद्मा च दक्षिणे पश्चान्नैर्ऋते क्रमशः स्थिताः
Viśākhā is in the east, Śaibyā in the southeast, Padmā in the south, and in the southwest, they are stationed in order.
योगपीठे केसराग्रे चारु चंद्रावती प्रिया । अष्टौ प्रकृतयः पुण्याः प्रधानाः कृष्णवल्लभाः
On the yogic seat, at the tip of the lion, is the dear and beautiful Candrāvatī; these eight are the principal, virtuous Prakṛtis, the chief beloveds of Kṛṣṇa.
प्रधानप्रकृतिस्त्वाद्या राधा चंद्रावती समा । चंद्रावली चित्ररेखा चंद्रा मदनसुंदरी
The foremost Prakṛti is Rādhā, equal to Candrāvatī; also Candrāvalī, Citrarēkhā, Candrā, and Madanasundarī.
प्रिया च श्रीमधुमती चंद्ररेखा हरिप्रिया । षोडशाद्याः प्रकृतयः प्रधानाः कृष्णवल्लभाः
Priyā, Śrī Madhumatī, Candrarēkhā, and Haripriyā—these sixteen are the principal Prakṛtis, the chief beloveds of Kṛṣṇa.
वृंदावनेश्वरी राधा तथा चंद्रावली प्रिया । अभिन्नगुणलावण्य सौंदर्याश्चारुलोचनाः
Rādhā, the sovereign of Vṛndāvana, and also the beloved Candrāvalī, are endowed with identical virtues and beauty, possessing exquisite charm and lovely eyes.
मनोहरा मुग्धवेषाः किशोरीवयसोज्ज्वलाः । अग्रेतनास्तथा चान्या गोपकन्याः सहस्रशः
Captivating and adorned in enchanting attire, radiant in the bloom of youthful maidenhood, countless other gopī girls stand before them.
शुद्धकांचनपुंजाभाः सुप्रसन्नाः सुलोचनाः । तद्रूपहृदयारूढास्तदाश्लेष समुत्सुकाः
Shining with the radiance of pure gold, serene and bright-eyed, their forms and hearts absorbed in him, they yearn eagerly for his embrace.
श्यामामृतरसे मग्नाः स्फुरत्तद्भावमानसाः । नेत्रोत्पलार्चिते कृष्णपादाब्जेऽपितचेतसः
Immersed in the nectar of Kṛṣṇa's dark beauty, their minds vibrant with his presence, their lotus-like eyes worship his lotus feet, their thoughts fixed upon him.
श्रुतिकन्यास्ततो दक्षे सहस्रायुतसंयुताः । जगन्मुग्धीकृताकारा हृद्वर्तिकृष्णलालसाः
Then, to the right, thousands upon thousands of daughters of the Vedas, their forms enchanting the universe, their hearts longing for Kṛṣṇa.
नानासत्वस्वरालापमुग्धीकृतजगत्त्रयाः । तत्र गूढरहस्यानि गायंत्यः प्रेमविह्वलाः
With varied, melodious voices enchanting the three worlds, there, overwhelmed with love, they sing hidden and secret mysteries.
देवकन्यास्ततः सव्ये दिव्यवेषारसोज्ज्वलाः । नानावैदिग्ध्यनिपुणा दिव्यभावभरान्विताः
To the left, divine maidens, radiant in celestial attire, skilled in various arts and endowed with the fullness of divine emotions.
सौंदर्यातिशयेनाढ्याः कटाक्षातिमनोहराः । निर्लज्जास्तत्र गोविंदे तदंगस्पर्शनोद्यताः
Rich in surpassing beauty, their glances supremely captivating, unashamed, they approach Govinda, eager to touch his limbs.
तद्भावमग्नमनसः स्मितसाचि निरीक्षणाः । मंदिरस्य ततो बाह्ये प्रियया विशदावृते
Their minds absorbed in him, they gaze with smiling, sidelong glances; outside the pavilion, surrounded by his beloved.
समानवेषवयसः समानबलपौरुषाः । समानगुणकर्माणः समानाभरणप्रियाः
Of equal dress and age, equal in strength and vigor, equal in virtues and deeds, and equally fond of ornaments.
समानस्वरसंगीत वेणुवादनतत्पराः । श्रीदामा पश्चिमे द्वारे वसुदामा तथोत्तरे
Equal in voice and song, devoted to playing the flute; Śrīdāmā stands at the western gate, Vasudāmā at the northern.
सुदामा च तथा पूर्वे किंकिणी चापि दक्षिणे । तद्बाह्ये स्वर्णपीठे च सुवर्णमंदिरावृते
Sudāmā at the eastern gate, and Kiṃkiṇī at the southern; outside them, on a golden throne, surrounded by a golden palace.
स्वर्णवेद्यंतरस्थे तु स्वर्णाभरणभूषिते । स्तोककृष्णं सुभद्राद्यैर्गोपालैरयुतायुतैः
Within, on a golden altar, adorned with golden ornaments, is Stoka-Kṛṣṇa with Subhadra and countless cowherd boys.
शृंगवीणावेणुवेत्रवयोवेषाकृतिस्वरैः । तद्गुणध्यानसंयुक्तैर्गायद्भिरपि विह्वलैः
With horns, vīṇās, flutes, staffs, youthful forms, attire, and voices, absorbed in meditation on his virtues, singing with emotion.
चित्रार्पितैश्चित्ररूपैः सदानंदाश्रुवर्षिभिः । पुलकाकुलसर्वांगैर्योगींद्रैरिव विस्मितैः
With wondrous offerings and marvelous forms, always shedding tears of joy, their bodies thrilled, astonished like great yogis.
क्षरत्ययोभिर्गोविंदैरसंख्यातैरुपावृतम् । तद्बाह्ये स्वर्णप्राकारे कोटिसूर्यसमुज्जवले
Surrounded by countless Govindas, radiant as molten metal, outside them a golden wall, shining like ten million suns.
चतुर्दिक्षुमहोद्यानं मंजुसौरभमोहिते । पश्चिमे संमुखे श्रीमत्पारिजातद्रुमाश्रये
In all four directions, great gardens, enchanting with sweet fragrance; to the west, facing, is the glorious Pārijāta tree.
तदधस्तु स्वर्णपीठे स्वर्णमंडनमंडिते । तन्मध्ये मणिमाणिक्य दिव्यसिंहासनोज्ज्वले
Beneath it, on a golden throne adorned with gold, in its center a divine lion-seat, brilliant with jewels and rubies.
तत्रोपरि परानंदं वासुदेवं जगत्प्रभुम् । त्रिगुणातीतचिद्रूपं सर्वकारणकारणम्
Above that, the supreme blissful Vāsudeva, Lord of the universe, who is of the nature of consciousness beyond the three guṇas, the cause of all causes.
इंद्रनीलघनश्यामं नीलकुंचितकुंतलम् । पद्मपत्रविशालाक्षं मकराकृतिकुंडलम्
He is dark as a rain-laden cloud, with curling blue hair, eyes wide like lotus petals, and earrings shaped like makaras.
