वसेत्कल्पायुतं साग्रं रुद्रतुल्यपराक्रमः । कालेन महता प्राप्तः पृथिव्यामेकराड्भवेत्
He dwells for ten thousand kalpas, possessing Rudra-like prowess; after a long time, he becomes the sole ruler of the earth.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र एरंडीतीर्थमुत्तमम् । प्रयागे यत्फलं दृष्टं मार्कंडेयेन भाषितम्
Then, O king, one should proceed to the excellent Erandi Tirtha; the fruit seen at Prayaga, spoken by Markandeya,
तत्फलं लभते राजन्स्नातमात्रस्तु मानवः । मासि भाद्रपदे चैव शुक्लपक्षस्य चाष्टमीम्
That fruit, O king, is obtained by a man merely by bathing, especially on the eighth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada.
उपोष्य रजनीमेकां तत्र स्नानं समाचरेत् । यमदूतैर्न बाध्येत इंद्रलोकं स गच्छति
By fasting for one night and then bathing there, he is not troubled by Yama's messengers and attains Indra's world.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र सिद्धो यत्र जनार्दनः । हिरण्यद्वीपविख्यातं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्
Then, O king, one should proceed to the place where Janardana is accomplished, the renowned Hiranyadwipa, destroyer of all sins.
तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्धनवान्रूपवान्भवेत् । ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र तीर्थं कनखलं महत्
Bathing there, O king, a man becomes wealthy and handsome; then, O king, one should proceed to the great Kanakhala Tirtha.
गरुडेन तपस्तप्तं तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नराधिप । विख्यातं सर्वलोकेषु योगिनी तत्र तिष्ठति
At that tirtha, O king, Garuda performed austerities; it is renowned in all worlds, and the yogini resides there.
क्रीडते योगिभिः सार्धं शिवेन सह नृत्यति । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्रुद्रलोके महीयते
She plays with yogis and dances with Shiva; bathing there, O king, a man is honored in Rudra's world.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र ईशतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । ईशस्तत्र विनिर्मुक्तो गत ऊर्ध्वं न संशयः
Then, O king, one should proceed to the supreme Ishatirtha; Ishvara is liberated there and ascends upward, without doubt.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र सिद्धो यत्र जनार्दनः । वाराहं रूपमास्थाय अचिंत्यः परमेश्वरः
Then, O king, one should proceed to the place where Janardana is accomplished, assuming the form of Varaha, the inconceivable supreme lord.
वराहतीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा द्वादश्यां तु विशेषतः । विष्णुलोकमवाप्नोति नरकं तु न गच्छति
Bathing at Varaha Tirtha, especially on the twelfth day, a man attains Vishnu's world and does not go to hell.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र सोमतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । पौर्णिमास्यां विशेषेण तत्र स्नानं समाचरेत्
Then, O king, one should proceed to the supreme Soma Tirtha; especially on the full moon day, one should bathe there.
प्रणिपत्य च ईशानं बलिस्तस्य प्रसीदति । हरिश्चन्द्रपुरं दिव्यमंतरिक्षे तु दृश्यते
And when one bows to Īśāna, the mighty lord becomes gracious; Hariścandra's celestial city is then seen in the sky.
चक्रध्वजे समावृत्ते सुप्ते नागारिकेतने । नर्मदातोयवेगेन रुरुकच्छोपसेवितम्
When the banner bearing the discus is raised and the city of Nāgas rests in slumber, the place is served by the swift waters of the Narmadā.
तस्मिन्स्थाने निवासं च विष्णुः शंकरमब्रवीत् । द्वीपेश्वरे नरः स्नात्वा लभेद्बहुसुवर्णकम्
In that place, Viṣṇu spoke to Śaṃkara about dwelling there: 'A man who bathes at the lord of the island gains much gold.'
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र रुद्रकन्यां तु संगमे । स्नातमात्रो नरस्तत्र देव्याः स्थानमवाप्नुयात्
Then, O king, one should go to the confluence where Rudra's daughter resides; merely by bathing there, a man attains the abode of the goddess.
देवतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्सर्वदेवनमस्कृतम् । तत्र स्नात्वा तु राजेंद्र दैवतैः सह मोदते
After that, one should proceed to the divine tīrtha, revered by all the gods; there, O king, bathing brings joy together with the deities.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र शिखितीर्थमनुत्तमम् । तत्र वै दीयते दानं सर्वं कोटिगुणं भवेत्
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Śikhi tīrtha; there, any donation given becomes a million times more fruitful.
अपरपक्षे अमावास्यां स्नानं तत्र समाचरेत् । ब्राह्मणं भोजयेदेकं कोटिर्भवति भोजिता
On the new moon in the second half of the month, one should bathe there; feeding a single brāhmaṇa yields the merit of feeding a million.
भृगुतीर्थे तु राजेंद्र तीर्थकोटिर्व्यवस्थिता । अकामो वा सकामो वा तत्र स्नायीत मानवः
At Bhṛgu tīrtha, O king, a crore of tīrthas are established; whether desiring or without desire, a man should bathe there.
अश्वमेधमवाप्नोति दैवतैः सह मोदते । तत्र सिद्धमवाप्नोति भृगुस्तु मुनिपुंगवः । अवतारः कृतस्तेन शंकरेण महात्मना
He attains the fruit of an Aśvamedha and rejoices with the gods; there, the sage Bhṛgu, foremost among sages, attained perfection; an incarnation was accomplished by the great-souled Śaṃkara.
नारद उवाच- ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र विहगेश्वरमुत्तमम् । दर्शनात्तस्यराजेंद्र मुच्यते सर्वपातकैः
Nārada said: Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Vihageśvara; by seeing it, O king, one is freed from all sins.
ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र नर्मदेश्वरमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्स्वर्गलोके महीयते
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Narmadeśvara; bathing there, O king, a man is honored in the heavenly realm.
अश्वतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्स्नानं तत्र समाचरेत् । सुभगो दर्शनीयश्च भोगवान्जायते नरः
Then one should go to Aśva tīrtha and bathe there; a man becomes fortunate, attractive, and enjoys pleasures.
पितामहं ततो गच्छेद्ब्रह्मणा निर्मितं पुरा । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो भक्त्या पितृपिंडं तु दापयेत्
After that, one should go to Pitāmaha, created long ago by Brahmā; there, bathing with devotion, a man should offer the ancestral ball.
तिलदर्भविमिश्रं तु उदकं तु प्रदापयेत् । तस्य तीर्थप्रभावेण सर्वं भवति चाक्षयम्
He should offer water mixed with sesame and darbha grass; by the power of that tīrtha, everything becomes imperishable.
सावित्री तीर्थमासाद्य यस्तु स्नानं समाचरेत् । विधूय सर्वपापानि ब्रह्मलोके महीयते
Upon reaching the Sāvitrī tīrtha, whoever bathes there, having washed away all sins, is honored in the world of Brahmā.
मनोहरं च तत्रैव तीर्थं परमशोभनम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्पितृलोके महीयते
There too is a charming and supremely beautiful tīrtha; bathing there, O king, a man is honored in the world of ancestors.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र मानसं तीर्थमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्रुद्रलोके महीयते
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Mānasa tīrtha; bathing there, O king, a man is honored in Rudra's world.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र क्रतुतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । विख्यातं सर्वलोकेषु सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Kratu tīrtha; renowned in all worlds, it destroys all sins.
