There is one ancient form, the supreme and great Pādma; the head is called Brāhma, and the heart is known as Padma, belonging to Hari Himself.

The left knee is known as Brahmavaivarta; the right ankle is Linga, and the left ankle is Vārāha.

There, the heart is indeed the Pādma; hearing it, one attains immortality. This Pādma Purāṇa is Hari Himself, the god.
Whoever studies even one chapter of it is freed from all sins; here is the original heaven, and this grants all the fruits of the Pādma.
Even those who are great sinners, upon hearing the Svarga-khaṇḍa, are freed from their sins, just as a snake sheds its old skin.
Even if one is of very bad conduct, excluded from all dharmas, by hearing the Ādi-Svarga, he attains the fruit thereof.
By hearing this Ādi-Svarga, a man obtains that fruit; and if he bathes daily at Prayāga in the month of Māgha—
Just as one is freed from sin by bathing, so it is by hearing; it is as if he has given gold equal to his weight, and indeed the whole earth.
Whatever charity he has given, whatever debt he has paid to the poor, it is as if he has recited the thousand names of Hari again and again.

Then he goes to the abode of the Sun, and from there to the realm of the Moon; after enjoying pleasures in the house of the Seven Sages, he proceeds to the Pole Star.

There, the great scripture Padma, which bestows the fruits of all traditions, and within it the section on heaven, grants the highest rewards of merit.
Worship Govinda, bow to Hari, the one supreme god; you will attain worlds of purest enjoyments. Hear, O people, and recite the matchless name of Hari; if you desire to cross the ocean of suffering, you will obtain your cherished wishes.
Thus ends the sixty-second chapter in the section on heaven of the glorious Padma Mahapurana.
