न जानंति नरा मूढा विष्णुमायाविमोहिताः । नर्मदायां स्थितं दिव्यं वृषतीर्थं नराधिप
Deluded by Vishnu's maya, foolish people do not know of the divine Bull's sacred site situated in the Narmada, O king.
भृगुतीर्थस्य माहात्म्यं यः शृणोति नरः सकृत् । विमुक्तः सर्वपापेभ्यो रुद्रलोकं स गच्छति
Whoever hears, even once, the greatness of Bhrigu's sacred site, is freed from all sins and goes to Rudra's realm.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र गौतमेश्वरमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्नुपवासपरायणः
After that, O king, one should go to the excellent Gautameshvara; there, bathing and observing fasts, O king,
कांचनेन विमानेन ब्रह्मलोके महीयते । धौतपापं ततो गच्छेद्धौतं यत्र वृषेण तु
He is honored in Brahma's world, riding a golden chariot; freed from sin, he then proceeds to the place purified by the bull.
नर्मदायां स्थितं राजन्सर्वपातकनाशनम् । तत्र तीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा ब्रह्महत्यां व्यपोहति
Situated in the Narmada, O king, it destroys all offenses; at that holy site, by bathing, a person removes the sin of killing a Brahmin.
तस्मिन्तीर्थे महाराज प्राणत्यागं करोति यः । चतुर्भुजस्त्रिनेत्रस्तु रुद्रतुल्यबलो भवेत्
Whoever gives up their life at that holy site, O great king, becomes four-armed, three-eyed, and equal in strength to Rudra.
वसेत्कल्पायुतं साग्रं रुद्रतुल्यपराक्रमः । कालेन महता प्राप्तः पृथिव्यामेकराड्भवेत्
He dwells for a full ten thousand kalpas, possessing prowess equal to Rudra; after a long time, he becomes the sole ruler of the earth.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र एरंडीतीर्थमुत्तमम् । प्रयागे यत्फलं दृष्टं मार्कंडेयेन भाषितम्
After that, O king, one should go to the excellent Erandi sacred site; the fruit seen at Prayaga, as spoken by Markandeya,
तत्फलं लभते राजन्स्नातमात्रस्तु मानवः । मासि भाद्रपदे चैव शुक्लपक्षस्य चाष्टमीम्
That fruit is obtained, O king, merely by bathing there; especially on the eighth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada.
उपोष्य रजनीमेकां तत्र स्नानं समाचरेत् । यमदूतैर्न बाध्येत इंद्रलोकं स गच्छति
By fasting for one night and then bathing there, one is not troubled by Yama's messengers and attains Indra's realm.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र सिद्धो यत्र जनार्दनः । हिरण्यद्वीपविख्यातं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम्
After that, O king, one should go where Janardana is perfected; the place known as Hiranyadwipa, which destroys all sins.
तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्धनवान्रूपवान्भवेत् । ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र तीर्थं कनखलं महत्
By bathing there, O king, a person becomes wealthy and handsome; after that, O king, one should go to the great Kanakhala sacred site.
गरुडेन तपस्तप्तं तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नराधिप । विख्यातं सर्वलोकेषु योगिनी तत्र तिष्ठति
O king, at that holy place, Garuda performed austerities; there, a renowned yogini abides, known throughout all the worlds.
क्रीडते योगिभिः सार्धं शिवेन सह नृत्यति । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्रुद्रलोके महीयते
She plays with yogis and dances with Shiva; O king, one who bathes there is honored in Rudra's realm.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र ईशतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । ईशस्तत्र विनिर्मुक्तो गत ऊर्ध्वं न संशयः
Then, O king of kings, one should proceed to the supreme Isha-tirtha; there, Isha is liberated and ascends upward, without doubt.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र सिद्धो यत्र जनार्दनः । वाराहं रूपमास्थाय अचिंत्यः परमेश्वरः
Next, O king, one should go where Janardana, the accomplished one, resides, assuming the form of Varaha, the inconceivable Supreme Lord.
वराहतीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा द्वादश्यां तु विशेषतः । विष्णुलोकमवाप्नोति नरकं तु न गच्छति
By bathing at Varaha-tirtha, especially on the twelfth day, a person attains Vishnu's world and does not go to hell.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र सोमतीर्थमनुत्तमम् । पौर्णिमास्यां विशेषेण तत्र स्नानं समाचरेत्
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Soma-tirtha, and especially on the full moon, perform bathing there.
प्रणिपत्य च ईशानं बलिस्तस्य प्रसीदति । हरिश्चन्द्रपुरं दिव्यमंतरिक्षे तु दृश्यते
After bowing to Ishana, Bali is pleased there; the divine city of Harishchandra is seen in the sky.
चक्रध्वजे समावृत्ते सुप्ते नागारिकेतने । नर्मदातोयवेगेन रुरुकच्छोपसेवितम्
When the banner of the discus is raised and the city of Nagas sleeps, it is served by Ruruka and the swift current of the Narmada.
तस्मिन्स्थाने निवासं च विष्णुः शंकरमब्रवीत् । द्वीपेश्वरे नरः स्नात्वा लभेद्बहुसुवर्णकम्
At that place, Vishnu spoke to Shankara about residing there; by bathing at Dvipeshvara, a person obtains much gold.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र रुद्रकन्यां तु संगमे । स्नातमात्रो नरस्तत्र देव्याः स्थानमवाप्नुयात्
Then, O king, one should go to Rudrakanya at the confluence; merely by bathing there, a person attains the abode of the goddess.
देवतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्सर्वदेवनमस्कृतम् । तत्र स्नात्वा तु राजेंद्र दैवतैः सह मोदते
After that, one should go to Deva-tirtha, revered by all the gods; O king, by bathing there, one rejoices together with the deities.
ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र शिखितीर्थमनुत्तमम् । तत्र वै दीयते दानं सर्वं कोटिगुणं भवेत्
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Shikhi-tirtha; there, any gift given becomes a hundred million times greater.
अपरपक्षे अमावास्यां स्नानं तत्र समाचरेत् । ब्राह्मणं भोजयेदेकं कोटिर्भवति भोजिता
On the new moon in the dark fortnight, one should bathe there; by feeding a single Brahmin, it is as if a hundred million are fed.
भृगुतीर्थे तु राजेंद्र तीर्थकोटिर्व्यवस्थिता । अकामो वा सकामो वा तत्र स्नायीत मानवः
At Bhrigu-tirtha, O king, a crore of holy places are established; whether with desire or without, a person should bathe there.
अश्वमेधमवाप्नोति दैवतैः सह मोदते । तत्र सिद्धमवाप्नोति भृगुस्तु मुनिपुंगवः । अवतारः कृतस्तेन शंकरेण महात्मना
One attains the fruit of an Ashvamedha sacrifice and rejoices with the gods; there, the sage Bhrigu, the foremost of seers, attained perfection, and by him, the great-souled Shankara descended.
नारद उवाच- ततो गच्छेत राजेंद्र विहगेश्वरमुत्तमम् । दर्शनात्तस्यराजेंद्र मुच्यते सर्वपातकैः
Narada said: Then, O king, one should go to the excellent Vihageshvara; by seeing it, O king, one is freed from all sins.
ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र नर्मदेश्वरमुत्तमम् । तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन्स्वर्गलोके महीयते
Then, O king, one should go to the supreme Narmadeshvara; by bathing there, O king, a person is honored in the world of heaven.
अश्वतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्स्नानं तत्र समाचरेत् । सुभगो दर्शनीयश्च भोगवान्जायते नरः
Then, one should go to Ashva-tirtha and bathe there; a person becomes fortunate, attractive, and endowed with enjoyments.
