Whoever recites this hymn of victory with devotion and respect, for him, O gods, nothing is unattainable in the three worlds.
The fruit that comes from giving a hundred thousand cows properly—that same result a man attains by reciting or hearing this hymn.
The praise of the God of gods always grants all desires; beyond this, there is no greater knowledge, nor will there ever be.

These daityas are countless in the three worlds, among moving and unmoving beings; even now, where have they gone? Tell me this, O revered one.
Vyāsa said: Those daityas who died bravely, the foremost in battle, having attained divinity by their own valor, enjoy eternal pleasures.

Beautiful lotus ponds, filled with lotuses, blue lilies, and fragrant flowers, are also abundant with curds, milk, ghee, and sweetmeats.
They are exceedingly handsome, always in the bloom of youth; there they rule as on earth.
Thus, after obtaining eight births, they become wealthy, chiefs, and ministers; with bodies half-turned toward the gods, they enjoy eternal heaven.
Those who turned away, who were fearful and timid, and those who used deceit in battle—they go to terrible hell, as do those who hate gods and brahmins.
Those who killed the fallen, the unconscious, the broken, or others' charioteers in battle—they go to hell, as do the mlecchas and those of evil speech.
Those who steal others' deposits, those who turn away in battle, those who are thieves or commit violence at night or in the forest—these are truly such as well.
Those who are greedy for all kinds of food, deluded, mlecchas, killers of cows and brahmins, those of evil speech, and other mlecchas—these are of false origin.
Their speech is of the Piśācas, and they have no proper social conduct; there is no purity, no austerity, no knowledge, and no offerings to gods or ancestors.

Because of their lack of knowledge, they do not observe bodily cleanliness; they desire their own mother, sister, other women, and even their own wife.
All proper conduct in the world is reversed and impure among them; this is true for the offspring of Tāṛkṣya and those dwelling in other lineages.

They have no connection with mantras or gods, being haters of the gods; their elder and their own kind are similar, and their ways are like those of villagers.
They are covered in hair, delight in eating flesh, and on earth they disregard vows, charity, bathing, and sacrifices.

They are afflicted with many diseases and much anger, and are adorned with many forms; these are the marks of Daityas among human beings on earth.
They do not know the higher world, nor their own teacher or others; they do not desire to fill the womb, nor do they honor guests, teachers, or the twice-born.
They do not recognize god, son, lineage, friend, or relative; even in dreams they do not know charity, nor do they care for food or possessions.
They guard their wealth, for they are Yakṣas in human form; even at the end of life, they do not give anything, not even to the king.
These Yakṣas dwell in misfortune and carry burdens for others; the marks of pretas are also those universally despised by all people.
