Awaiting her birth, he will remain there for some time; from their intense austerities, a great son will be born.

He will scold that goddess, and Satī, angered, will depart to perform austerities; thus, endowed with penance,
She will give birth to Śarva’s son, radiant with immeasurable splendor; he will certainly become the slayer of the enemies of the gods.
You too, O goddess, must slay the formidable demons, unconquerable in the world, until the goddess of the gods, endowed with all virtues, assumes a body.

Thus, O goddess, you are worshipped in the world with many kinds of forms; and those who will praise you, O giver of boons, and those who will worship you—
They will obtain all desires without fail—there is no doubt of this. When thus addressed, the goddess of night, with joined palms, replied, 'So be it.'
