तारादिपञ्चमं न्यासं कुर्यात्सर्वेष्टसिद्धये
One should perform the nyāsa of the fifth, beginning with Tārā, for the attainment of all desired accomplishments.
ताराद्या न्यासपूर्वाश्च प्रयोज्या अष्टशक्तयः
The eight powers, beginning with Tārā, should be employed, each preceded by nyāsa.
कामेश्वरी च चामुण्डा इत्यष्टौ तारिकाः स्मृताः
Kāmeśvarī and Cāmuṇḍā—these eight are known as the Tārās.
हृदि नाभौ फले मूलाधारे चेताः क्रमान्न्यसेत्
One should place the mind, in order, in the heart, navel, fruit, and root center.
आधारे कामरूपाख्यं बीजं ह्रस्वार्णपूर्वकम्
In the root center, the seed called Kāmarūpa, preceded by a short vowel, should be placed.
ललाटे पूर्णगिर्याख्यं कवर्गाद्यं न्यसेत्सुधीः
On the forehead, the wise should place the seed called Pūrṇagiri, beginning with the guttural consonants.
कण्ठे तु मथुरापीठं दशम यादिकं न्यसेत्
At the throat, one should place the Mathurā seat, beginning with the tenth letter, Y.
हृदि श्रीमदेकजटां तारिणीं शिरसि न्यसेत्
In the heart, one should place the glorious Ekajaṭā, and on the head, Tāriṇī.
महोग्रा वत्सरे नेत्रे पिङ्गाग्रैकजटास्त्रके
Mahogrā in the year, in the eyes Piṅgā, and at the tip, Ekajaṭā in a group of three.
अङ्गुष्ठादिष्वङ्गुलीषु पूर्वं विन्यस्य यत्नतः
Carefully place, first, on the fingers beginning with the thumb.
छोटिकामुद्राया कुर्याद्दिग्बन्धं देवतां स्मरन्
With the choṭikā mudrā, one should perform the binding of the directions, remembering the deity.
उग्रतारां ततो ध्यायेत्सद्यो वादे ऽतिसिद्धिदाम्
Then one should meditate on Ugratārā, who instantly grants supreme success in debate.
कम्बुं खड्गं कपालं च नीलाब्जं दधतीं करैः
Holding a conch, sword, skull, and blue lotus in her hands.
जपेल्लक्षचतुष्कं हि दशांशं रक्तपद्मकैः
One should recite four hundred thousand times, with a tenth part as oblation, using red lotuses.
नारीं पश्यन्स्पृशन्गच्छन्महानिशि बलिं चरेत्
Seeing, touching, and approaching a woman, one should perform the offering at midnight.
पर्वते वनमध्ये वा शवमारुह्य मन्त्रवित्
On a mountain or in the middle of a forest, the knower of mantra should mount a corpse.
विद्यां साधयतः शीघ्रं साधितैवं प्रसिद्ध्यति
For one who quickly accomplishes the vidyā in this way, success is attained.
विश्वेश्वरीति संप्रोक्ताः पीठस्य नव शक्तयः
The nine powers of the seat are called Viśveśvarī.
योगपीठात्मने हार्द्दं पीठस्य मनुरीरितः
The mantra of the seat, pertaining to the essence of the yoga-seat, is declared as 'hārddaṃ'.
पूजयेद्विधिवद्देवीं तद्विधानमथोच्यते
One should worship the Goddess according to the proper method; now that procedure will be explained.
यक्षाधिपतये तन्द्रीसोपनीतं बलिं ततः
Then, the offering brought by the priest is to be given to the lord of the yakṣas.
दद्यान्नित्यं बलिं तेन मध्यरात्रे चतुष्पथे
One should always offer that oblation at midnight at the crossroads.
ध्रुवो वज्रोदके वर्म फट्सप्तार्णो जलग्रहे
The fixed (mantra) is 'vajrodaka', the armor is 'phaṭ', and the seven-syllabled (mantra) is for taking water.
तारो मायाः भृगुः कर्णोविशुद्धं धर्मवर्मतः
'Tāra', 'Māyā', 'Bhṛgu', 'Karṇa', and 'Viśuddha' are from the armor of Dharma.
कल्पान्तनयनस्वाहा मन्त्र आचमने मतः
The mantra 'kalpāntanayanasvāhā' is prescribed for the act of sipping water.
खरिविद्यायुग्रिजश्व सर्ववान्ते बको ऽब्जवान्
'Kharividyā', 'Yugrija', 'Śva', 'Sarvavānta', 'Baka', and 'Abjavān' (are the mantras to be used).
त्रयोविंशतिवर्णात्मा शिखाया बन्धने मनुः
The mantra composed of twenty-three syllables is for tying the topknot.
नवार्णेनामुना मन्त्री कुर्याद्भूमिविशोधनम्
With this nine-syllabled mantra, the officiant should purify the ground.
हुं फट् स्वाहा गुणेन्द्वर्णो मनुर्विघ्ननिवारणम्
'Huṃ phaṭ svāhā', the syllable of the lord of qualities, is the mantra for removing obstacles.
तदुत्थेनाग्निना देहं दहेत्साद्धस्वपाप्मना
With the fire produced from that, one should burn the body along with all accumulated sins.
