द्वितीया मातृभिः प्रोक्ता तृतीयाद्यष्टशक्तिभिः
The second is said to be with the Mothers, the third with eight powers.
चतुःषष्ट्या स्मृता षष्ठी शक्तिभिर्लोकनायकैः
The sixth is remembered as accompanied by sixty-four powers and the leaders of the worlds.
एवं पूज्या जगद्धात्री श्रीमती वाग्भवाभिधा
Thus should the glorious goddess Vagbhava, the sustainer of the world, be worshipped.
अम्बिका वाग्भवा दुर्गा श्रीशक्तिश्चोक्तलक्षणा
Ambika, Vagbhava, Durga, and Shri Shakti are described with these characteristics.
सरस्वती श्रीर्दुर्गा च लक्ष्मीश्चैव धृतिः स्मृतिः
Sarasvati, Shri, Durga, Lakshmi, Dhriti, and Smriti—
खड्गखेटकधारिण्यः श्यामाः पूज्याः स्वलङ्कृताः
—dark-complexioned, bearing sword and shield, adorned and worthy of worship—
रुद्रवीर्या प्रभा नन्दा पोषणा वृद्धिदा शुभा
Rudraveerya, Prabha, Nanda, Poshana, Vriddhida, and Shubha—
विकृतिर्दण्डिमुण्डिन्यौ सेंदुखण्डा शिखण्डिनी
Vikriti, Dandimundinya, Sendukhandā, and Shikhandini—
इन्द्राणी चैव रुद्राणी शङ्करार्द्धशरीरिणी
Indrani, Rudrani, and she who shares half the body of Shankara,
अम्बिका ह्रदिनी चैव द्वात्रिंशच्छक्तयः सिताः
Ambika, Hradini, and the thirty-two fair powers,
पिङ्गलाक्षी विशालाक्षी समृद्धिर्बुद्धिरेव च
Pingala-eyed, wide-eyed, Prosperity, and also Wisdom,
त्रिलोकधात्री गायत्री सावित्री त्रिदशेश्वरी
The Sustainer of the three worlds, Gayatri, Savitri, and the sovereign of the gods,
विमला कमला पश्चादरुणी पुनरारुणी
Vimala, Kamala, then Aruni, and again Aruni,
सन्ध्या माता सती हंसी मर्दिका वज्रिका परा
Sandhya, the Mother, Sati, Hamsi, Mardika, Vajrika, and Para,
त्रिमुखी सप्तवदना सुरासुरविमर्द्दिनी
Three-faced, seven-mouthed, the subduer of gods and demons,
रथरेखाह्वया पश्चाच्छशिरेखा तथापरा
Then called Ratharekha, and another known as Shashirekha,
ततो भुवनपालाख्या ततः स्यान्मदनातुरा
Then Bhuvanapala by name, and after that, Madanatura,
अनङ्गकुसुमा विश्वरूपा सुरभयङ्करी
Anangakusuma, Vishvarupa, and the one who brings fear to the gods,
वरदाख्याथ वागीशी चतुःषष्टिःसमीरिताः
Known as Varada, then Vagishi, thus the sixty-four are proclaimed,
दंष्ट्रिण्यश्चोर्द्ध्वकेश्यस्ता युद्धोपक्रान्तमानसाः
They are tusked, with hair raised, their minds intent on battle,
लोकेशाः पूर्ववत्पूज्यास्तद्वद्वज्रादिकान्यपि
They are lords of the worlds, to be worshipped as before, and likewise the Vajra and others,
आज्येन खादिरे वह्नौ ततः सिद्धो भवेन्मनुः
With clarified butter in a khadira fire, then the mantra becomes accomplished,
उत्पलैर्जुह्वतो नूनं महालक्ष्मीः प्रजायते
Certainly, by offering blue lotuses, Mahalakshmi is born,
राजीलवणहोमेन वनितां वशमानयेत्
By offering with rajiv and salt, one brings a woman under control,
वाणीबीजजपाशक्तो नात्र कार्या विचारणा
For one devoted to reciting the seed of speech, there is no need for further inquiry here,
तस्या मन्त्रं प्रवक्ष्यामि भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदं नृणाम्
I will declare her mantra, which grants enjoyment and liberation to people.
अरुणाक्ष्यादीपिका च बिन्दुयुक्ता द्विधा ततः
The lamp with reddish eyes, adorned with a bindu, is thus of two kinds.
पुनश्च सप्तबीजानि स्वाहान्तो ऽयं मनूत्तमः
Again, there are seven seed-syllables; this supreme mantra ends with 'svāhā'.
बीजं मायादीर्घवर्त्म शक्तिरुक्ता मुनीश्वर
The seed is māyā, the path is long; the power has been described, O best of sages.
मातृकार्णान्दश दश हृदये भुजयोः पदोः
The ten letters of the alphabet are placed at the heart, the arms, and the feet.
