निर्गुणा कृष्णपूज्या च मूलप्रकृतिरीश्वरी
She is without qualities, worthy of Krishna's worship, the primal nature, the Lady of Lords.
पूर्वाद्याशासु रक्षन्तु पान्तु मां सर्वतः सदा
May those from the eastern and other directions always protect and guard me everywhere.
कृष्णमायादिदेवी च कृष्णप्राणाधिके शुभे
And the primordial goddess of Krishna’s power, O auspicious one, is more dear to Krishna than his very life.
इति सम्प्रार्थ्य सर्वेशीं स्तुत्वा हृदि विसर्जयेत्
Thus, having entreated the sovereign of all and praised her, one should let her return to the heart.
भुक्त्वेह भोगानखिलान्सो ऽन्ते गोलोकमाप्नुयात्
Having enjoyed all pleasures here, at the end one attains Goloka.
यदाराधनतो भूयात्साधको भुक्तिमुक्तिमान्
By worshipping her, the practitioner attains both enjoyment and liberation.
ङेंता वह्निप्रियान्तो ऽयं मन्त्रकल्पद्रुमः परः
This supreme wish-fulfilling mantra, ending with 'vahnipriyā', is to be known.
देवता तु महालक्ष्मीर्द्विद्विवर्णैः षडङ्गकम्
The deity is Mahalakshmi, with two syllables and six limbs.
ईषद्धास्यप्रसन्नास्यां भक्तानुग्रहकातराम्
Her face is slightly smiling and gracious, eager to bestow favor upon devotees.
ध्यात्वा जपेदर्कलक्षं पायसेन दशांशतः
Meditating, one should recite it a hundred thousand times, offering a tenth part in milk-rice.
नवशक्तियुते पीठे ह्यङ्गै रावरणैः सह
On a seat endowed with nine powers, together with limbs and enclosures.
व्याष्टिरुत्कृष्टिरृद्धिश्च संप्रोक्ता नव शक्तयः
Vyāṣṭi, Utkṛṣṭi, and Ṛddhi are declared as the nine powers.
षट् कोणेषु षडङ्गानि दक्षिणे तु गजाननम्
In the six corners are the six limbs; to the south, Gajānana.
उमां श्रीं भारतीं दुर्गां धरणीं वेदमातरम्
Umā, Śrī, Bhāratī, Durgā, Dharaṇī, and the Mother of the Vedas.
जह्नुसूर्यसुते पूज्ये पादप्रक्षालनोद्यते
One should worship Jahnu’s daughter, the Sun’s daughter, who is to be honored and is ready to wash the feet.
धृतातपत्रं वरुणं पूजयेत्पश्चिमे ततः
Then, in the west, one should worship Varuṇa, who holds a parasol.
चतुर्दन्तैरावतादीन् दिग्विदिक्षु ततोर्ऽचयेत्
In the directions and intermediate directions, one should worship Airāvata and others with four tusks.
दूर्वाभिराज्यसिक्ताभिर्जुहुयादायुषे नरः
A man should offer oblations with dūrvā grass moistened with clarified butter for long life.
अषअटोत्तरसहस्रं यः स जीवेच्छरदां शतम्
Whoever does this one thousand and eight times lives for a hundred autumns.
आरभ्यार्कदिनं मन्त्री दशाहं घृतसंप्लुतः
Beginning from the day of the sun, the practitioner, for ten days, should be anointed with ghee.
शालिभिर्जुह्वतो नित्यमष्टोत्तरसहस्रकम्
One who offers, always, one thousand and eight oblations with rice grains,
उषाजा जीनालिकेररजोभिर्गृतमिश्रितैः
with the dust from the feet of an old cow, mixed with clarified butter,
मण्डलाज्जायते सो ऽपि कुबेर इव मानवः
from the circle (of the ritual), that person is born, like Kubera, among men.
जपापुष्पाणि जुहुयादष्टोत्तरसहस्रकम्
One should offer one thousand and eight hibiscus flowers in oblation,
चतुर्णामपि वर्णानां मोहनाय द्विजोत्तमः
for the enchantment of all four classes, O best of twice-born,
सम्पदस्तस्य जायन्ते महालक्ष्मीः प्रसीदति
Wealth arises for him; Mahalakshmi is pleased.
या तु दुर्गा द्विजश्रेष्ठ शिवलोकं गता सती
That Durga, O best of Brahmins, who, being Sati, went to Shiva's realm,
देवीलोकेति विख्यातं सर्वलोकविलक्षणम्
is renowned as the realm of the Goddess, distinct from all other worlds.
विविधान् स्वावतारान्हि त्रिकाले कुरुते ऽनिशम्
She indeed performs various incarnations at all three times, constantly.
प्रतिष्ठा स्मृतिसंयुक्ता क्षुधया सहिता पुनः
Her establishment is endowed with memory and accompanied by hunger, again.
